This man is a musical giant of our era. Arguing about which of his works are better is crazy bro. Most of us don't even know all his alter egos. The sheer amount of stuff he's pushing is unreal.
It’s like madlib took his super dusty and raw style and made it a bit more accessible for the “lofi” playlist world, which owes a lot to Lib in the first place! 💴
I think you're both right. First Flylo was inspired by Madlib, then Flylo became dope in his own right. Now it's come full circle and Madlib is inspired by Flylo now.
Not gonna lie i'm not big on these kind of beats, the royalty sample pack beats sound kind of cheap verses sampling records or VHS tapes . but i agree some of his most insane beats are from 2003-2009 on the SP303, i wish he would start using that again. his newer stuff sounds way too clean i miss that raw sht
@@ncxbeats im gonna 100% agree with you, im actually close to saying that madlib has fell off beat wise. These recent collabs hes been doing (blackstar 2, liberation 2) have been very lackluster beat wise and sounds to clean for my taste. Im gonna give him another chance when the 3rd album he does with freddie gibbs comes out. Madvilliany will always be his best collab, just pure grimey dusty loops and beats.
It sounds like the music is for a more mainstream audience so he is evolving his audio style to a more wider audience, still sounds good but I prefair the more obscure audio sounds he produced before, some say weird I say non conformistic beat styles. I think he should make both depending on the targeted audience
Where does madlib find these type of drums? The snare rims sound so light and crispy and those kicks hit so hard without clipping. Anyone know any good drum kits for these typa drums?
couldn't tell you where he sources his drums, but if you're looking for really hard hitting, clean drums I'd recommend the Decap Drums That Knock I-X drum kits. amazing sounds, clean, incredibly punchy but not clipping
@@LeftFieldBeats Thanks, imma check those kits out. Also, the final beat was played on one of the boiler room sets him and Freddie Gibbs did for the bandana rollout, the beat starts around 6:30 minutes and has a different intro and has a different mix too (although that probably due to the setting of the recording.) ruclips.net/user/liveb5TQxdWk1C8?feature=share Do you know where i can find more 2018-2023 madlib beats? They aren’t as raw as the beats that came before em but I still love them so much
Madlib/J Dilla the definition of Hip-Hop
YES
I have to throw alchemist in there as well. Pete rock. Premiere. Etc etc
Good to see you outside of an obscure Dilla instrumental fam. Rock on!@@cem4376
DITC is factored in that too
Yall tripping this that same ol slow simmer madlib beat tape. bless the god, madlib
Madlibs trap beats are really interesting because they are very unique and for trap. I like his spin on the sub genre.
X, XII, XIV, and XV ⚡

I’m always going to listen when it’s sound by the great MADLIB! Crazy thing is I believe he’s banging these out on the iPad…. Crazy good but different
Hell yea, it’s crazy what you can do on just an iPad now. I even save my old phones just to use them as dedicated koala sampler machines 😂
These Headspace beats hit different 💯🔥

I haven’t made it past number one. Had it on repeat for the last 48 hours l!!!!
Whats the title its killing me 🫠🫠
Check out Roots run deep ft Larry June. It samples this same sample in the song
@@abg44 good look

Hearing more trap beats from Madlib would go crazy, it def has a flylo influence to it
The other way around

Damn didn't expect this!
That third beat is on sound ancestors. Man that’s one of my favorite beats from him
Damn. 52:55 caught me off guard
Indeed
Wouldn't doubt if all this was made on his iPad
can deffo hear the difference in the ipad beats, they lack a bit of that crunch imo
He admitted he makes beats in iPad now thru wav files
All this is showing me is how versatile Madlib is as an artist. This is my first time hearing some heavy trap beats from him
That closer...
39:51 ...how come an up & coming rapper has not decided that this will be that beat to burst onto the scene with 😳
dahm, that sounds pretty good... Ty!
These beats are more likely to pause with reflections on life...
Yoooooo that first track is wild…
Thanks !!......Peace !!
Lawddddddddddddddddeeee the 3rd track
What do you think of these beats? I think I'm too attached to the 2003-2007 era!
hearing madlib do trap beats is uncanny
I’m the say way but I’ll take it however I can 🔥. But I’m weird it’s like when Madlib had the braids it was power in that shit lol

@@SergioMartinez-el8kg I kinda agree but I feel like his beats for other artists like some of his beats for Gunn have been good

🦍 Madlib Or 9TH Wonder ???😅
I Think Mad’s Beat Game is 🍌’s & 🦍‼️But That’s Not Take Anything Frm Tha Wonder!
I never thought wonder could compete with dilla and madlib when it came to the drum game
Larry June on #1
You know the name of the first track?
For some reason this is definitely not Madlib..I'll put money on it..
nah it is he released it officially through the Headspace app
some of these... most-dont sound like Madlib at all...
I get it man, dudes tryna stay paid in the music game, but those trap beats suck ass too

No they don’t
