Yeah, but I don't think that includes guns. They're only second nature in certain parts of the country. In others? You'd have to specifically find a gun store, not just a normal retailer.

You need to go to the 535,000 square foot Bass Pro Shop at the Pyramid in Memphis Tennessee! It"s 321 ft high (98 meters, about 32 stories tall, taller than the Statue of Liberty) It's like walking through swamps and a Cyprus jungle. The floors are all ponds with bridges over them and walkways going through them with hundreds of fish swimming around, and they have a live alligator area. There's an open tower elevator that goes up 28 storiesto an observation deck where you can look out over the surrounding area and river and eat/drink at a restaurantat the top, there's multiple restaurants on the lower floor, a bowling alley, and it even has a "Big Cyprus Hotel" inside with 103 hotel rooms you can stay in with balconies that face out looking over the "swamp"!
I visited the pyramid in April and loved it so much I booked three days there this coming Christmas.
The safes are gun safes.
Guns make them nervous. 🤠
Their government has indoctrinated them well. 😊
Hence why they are so large. They not only have to be large enough to hold guns (some of which can be quite long) but adding to that some people will store some in cases that they can just crab and go hunting with which further adds to the bulk. Then you have to have room to store ammunition with it being entirely possible that every gun in the safe takes an entirely different caliber of ammunition. And then you have to have storage space for accessories you want to keep with the guns such as spotting scopes, extra magazines or speed loaders, spare targets, reloading supplies, etc....

The one we have in Melbourne Fl has wild hogs on one side and gators on the other when you walk across the bridge on the way in.
Millie, you're crossing your arm over your body, when you bowl. Walk up to the line, and look at the arrows on the floor.... You want to throw your ball, across one of those arrows---usually, just slightly right or left of center, depending on which way your ball usually veers (if your ball veers left, choose an arrow, to the right of center, so your ball will have more chance to hit off-center [you don't want to hit dead-center; it'll leave you with a split - pins to the left and right, with none in the middle]; vice-versa if your ball veers right). When you throw your ball, extend your arm straight out in front of you; don't cross it over your body. Also, bending a bit more, will help.This is the way I was taught, and it greatly improved my game.

Bass Pro is where I get so much of my fishing gear as well as all of my pool toys. As a matter of fact I'm wearing Redhead (Bass Pro Shops brand) shorts and a shirt now. Great online service as well and never an issue with delivery. Glad to see you had a fun time shopping at one of my favorite places.
If you want to get a good experience of Bass Pro you should have went to the Springfield Missouri location because that's the original

The original Bass Pro is in Springfield, Missouri. It takes up two city blocks and is 4 stories high with a giant aquarium and a 1st. class restaurant! Our Bass Pro shop used to be a Cabalas before it was bought out.

You should really visit the Bass Pro Shops in Springfield Missouri. On the property adjacent to the Pro Shops is the Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium. It spans 350,000 square feet. They also have an indoor shooting range.
We have a Bass Pro Shop about 8 miles from me here in northeast Illinois. Fun place to shop.

The ones here in Louisiana have a HUGE aquarium next to the elevator, so you see the fish as you go up
And what did we learn today? That James is a champ at bowling!
James is a natural bowler.
The funny thing is that the floorplan layout of this particular Bass Pro is the older and smaller version. The newer ones, like the one near San Antonio about 90-ish minutes from this one is considerably bigger and features a transparent elevator that goes up through a tank of wild fish. 😄
I just like how you guys just explored America. A lot of travelers would only come for the food and leave. Nothing wrong with food content, but we have more than just good food
BSP is the pinnacle of outdoor stores. If an activity exists and you do it outside, you can probably find what you need for it at BSP.
That looks like the smallest Bass Pro shop ever. Should have better aquarium than that.

I wish we could've seen their faces when they bit into a circus peanut. LOL I love em but I grew up with them. I bet the circus peanuts didn't make it into the suitcase.
Usually there's a button outside & inside that u press that then makes both sets of doors open.

I just knew Archie would love watching the fish! My dad took us out fishing in the local rivers a few times when I was a kid. (He spent most of his 50s and 60s going on an annual fishing trip to Canada.) The last time, though, was when I was 16 on a family vacation in Maine. My mom, sister, and I joined a fishing charter boat with about 25 others and went out on the Atlantic Ocean. I ended up with two cod, two mackerel, some weird looking thing with spiky fins jutting out that the worker told me didn’t taste good so he tossed it back, as he did the baby shark I caught! I reeled it in and had a minor freak out when I saw the teeth as it emerged from the waves. We gave the eating fish to someone on the boat who was staying at a campground and could eat our catch-we were at a hotel so that wasn’t an option.
Next time ask around. Often the charter crew will clean your catch, and many restaurants will cook it for you. At least that was true when i fished on a boat in Florida on vacation.
Now you have to go to a sporting good shop, we are crazy for any outdoor sports, Water skiing, Camping, Snow Skiing, Hiking, Boating, Etc.
When you picked the circus peanuts I instantly thought of the scene in Indiana Jones and the last crusade where the old knight says "he chose poorly" lol good luck;)
I have been to the pro shop many times in my home town glad you and your family enjoyed exploring the store in good old Texas 🤠

There is a huge clothing section at Bass Pro Shops. I’m surprised that I didn’t see any video of the clothing department.
There are only a handful of Bass Pro Shops in the USA with bowling alleys. I have never been to one.

We have one near me I’ve been to a few times. I bought sunglasses and binoculars for vacation. It’s a cool store.
LOL at your reaction to the safes. Guys, I somehow don’t think you understood those were gun safes for your guns and ammunition. Love the video though. It’s one of my favorite stores.
Around 20 or so years ago I worked at the main warehouse for Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, Missouri. A couple of years later, they put in a warehouse in Macon, Georgia. I worked in the main receiving department. The building was massive. It was originally a building that housed the old Zenith television plant. Back then, there were at least 40 Bass Pro stores, and this was many years before they bought out Cabela's. I'll probably never be able to do it, but I'd like to see all the Bass Pro Shops in both the US and Canada and see how they are all different.
I have been to the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, Missouri. You should watch a video of that one if you get time. It's not the largest but it's insane! My daughter goes to the Bass pro shop called the Pyramid in Memphis, Tennessee. That's the largest.
Each of the Bass Pros are different and the animal displays are based on the wildlife native to the state. Fish tank will have native fish also.
this is actually a SMALL store for this company. The one in San Antonio, TX is 2 floors and has an lift (elevator) in it.
This is one of the smaller bass pro shops I've seen, but it is still huge! Some stores are much larger than this one. I love Bass Pro Shops. Some have restaurants, giant water tanks full of game fish, and at least one shop has a hotel inside of it.

That had to be harder for Millie to bowl in a long skirt. Been in Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops many times and never bowled at Bass Pro Shops. I go to those stores with purchases already planned.

You guys need one of those remote control alligator heads, take it to the park or lake with you, people would flip. There are a few people doing prank videos with them, it’s pretty hilarious. I’m curious how a Brit would react to seeing one in their own water.

Oh, this is amazing, but you havn’t visited BASS PRO until you’ve been to the Springfield, MO headquarters. Imagine this, x1,000. Aquariums, restaurants, (record holder for the biggest, best in the world in most aspects.) 🙂

You should visit the one in Mempihs, TN. They have an actual lake with alligators and local fish.
Bass Pro & Cabela's both post the days & times that they feed their fish. The fish do their part to put on a show. I've shopped at Cabela's , now owned by Bass Pro Shop, for many yrs. Last yr. I bought a new Smith & Wesson M&P .380 ACP semi-automatic pistol for home defense & constitutional carry. I also buy most of my clothes there.

Don’t wear a skirt to bowling. It hindered you bad. I also tend to look for a good fishing rod. Ask for a medium action, 6 to 7 foot salt and fresh water rod, not a bait caster but a traditional underhand. But also easy to take apart and put back together. Planes have different requirements for fishing rods and can easily vary so always ask. I say this particular type of rod because it’s a very versatile rod that can easily adapt to any scenario you throw its way. 15 to 20 lbs weight limit fish is quite good for something of that size. The fishing scene is very different in Europe than the states. Europe traditionally has always done the bait and wait method where you throw baited hooks and wait it out. The states prefer a more active approach, we often use artificial baits and lures and work them to act like prey fish or mimic something, it forces fish to believe they are biting something real.
I live on the west coast(California)and I wish we had candlepin bowling here. I remember it from living in Massachusetts as a kid. I don't know if it's still being played back there
Candlepin is still a thing, though the alleys are slowly disappearing.

There is a Bass Pro near me that is built into the side of a mall and they still have the wall of guns.
(And it's definitely not just hunting because they have about 200 pistols under the glass counters.) Walking around the mall holding a bag of 9mm ammo is a funny experience. 😆
The laser shooting range at Bass Pro is a ton of fun as well. Good way to practice marksmanship for a few quarters.
I also get a lot of my fishing stuff there. The selection of items is the real draw of that store.
I'm in Dallas area and that looks like the Bass Pro I've been to for ammo. That looks like the one in Grapevine, Tx.
