  • It's a bit late (by a couple of patches) and I'll probably need to update the Scaramouche section fairly soon, but here it is! The Beginner's Guide to Genshin Lore: Inazuma Edition!
    This video is a complete (but not comprehensive) timeline of important events in Enkanomiya and Inazuma from the (presumed) beginning of Teyvat's history to the arrival of the Traveler (and the beginning of the Inazuma Archon quests). Again, this video is NOT comprehensive. Think of it as a highlight reel with an estimated order of events you can use as a basic framework of understanding.
    Corrections and updates will be in the pinned comment below!

    - I made a small error regarding Kazuha's Friend and his duel. Kazuha's friend did not fight the Shogun directly, he challenged Sara to a "duel before the throne" in the same way the Traveler challenged Signora. The loser was put to death. I knew this and still forgot to properly clarify it in the script.

    Just sharing. Not sure where I saw it, but there was this scene in Scara's back story in Sumeru's archon quest where Scara brought lavender melon to the deceased child only to find out that he's dead. It was connected to the lore with the Pharmacist and that one Samurai guy who we were task to pray and worship. Apparently during that time, the "doctor" or the attending physician by then told the people on that island that eating Lavender Melon will help cure the disease cause by Tatargami.
    That Samurai guy's lore, Nameless Samurai and every lore in Yashiori Island are the best lore in Inazuma for me. Darkest too. That island has a depressing vibe for a reason. Nothing good happens there.

    Kazuha's friend challenged >the vision-hunt decree enforcers< (said in the PV- SPOL, in Kazuha's story number 4 and by an npc in the shrine). Until he came to Sara who defeated him and consequently, Shogun Raiden executed him. At no point did he fight Shogun. I clarify this because he fought against Sara.
    Thanks for your video, it was necessary because Inazuma's story is very hidden. Good luck with the Sumeru guide~

      Although you are correct, Kazuhas friend did wish to witness the might of the Shogun's Musou no Hitotachi right? Perhaps facing the Shogun was his intention all along, as he firmly believed there would be a person that is able to withstand it, hence trying to himself, ending in his demise.
      That's just my own understanding ofcourse.

    • @blue7609
      @blue7609 Год назад +21

      @@effortlessfury That's not a win-win situation. A lot of people misunderstand his intention and think he just wanted to face the Shogun or see the Musuo no Hitotachi, which isn't the case at all. He died because he was trying to fight for freedom, not because he was on a suicide mission to see the Musuo no Hitotachi. His reason for wanting to withstand it wasn't to prove his strength or something, he's not Childe. It was because he wanted to show there could be someone strong enough to stand against the oppressors. But he never got to try and withstand it because he was already defeated by Sara in a duel before the throne and then the Shogun executed him after he had already been defeated. He only fought because he was trying to protect his vision from being taken and got killed for standing up for what he believed in. That's not really a win at all, just a tragedy.

    • @effortlessfury
      @effortlessfury Год назад +10

      @@blue7609 you really should listen to Kazuha explain it in the animatic from the Inazuma prologue. And then consider it only relit specifically when he faced down the MnH. There's no basis in anything anyone has said in game for your belief.

      1. They are interesting
      2. There might be clues about our sibling

    YESS!! Another guide!! :D can’t wait to watch this- OMG THE EDITING!! It’s awesome!! :O I love it.
    12:42 wait… I just had a thought. So from Ei’s second story quest, remember how it we were indirectly told that Istaroth had a hand in creating the sacred Sakura? and how the creation of said irminsul tree kinda reshaped the memories of the people there except for Ei because she was in Khaenri’ah? Considering the parallels to the final act of the Sumeru archon quest, I’m starting to wonder if Istaroth could potentially have the ability to manipulate and create irminsul trees & their data. If so, they could be the ones concealing the fate of our sibling, and also maybe the one that put our siblings info into the irminsul database, however if that’s the case I don’t believe it was because of malicious intentions.
    Also, had another thought, and it was about Dainsleif, and his title as bough keeper. I was also wondering if Dain could potentially have a connection to irminsul, similar to what many scholars were trying to achieve in Sumeru, except his connection was deeper in some way. Maybe he was like a personified file preserver, overseeing irminsul data and making sure nothing went wrong.
    This random thought brought me back to another question I had from we will be reunited. The abyss sibling explicitly states that Dain directly failed in protecting the citizens of Khaenri’ah, which heavily implies that he had the ability to save them.
    If my random thoughts are correct, maybe Dainsleif, seeing that the deaths of the Khaenri’ahns, (a lot of them harboring forbidden knowledge) realized that those people being absorbed into the leylines would spell disaster for teyvat, and chose to not preserve them, not knowing that Celestia’s punishment would be a lot more severe than he imagined it to be. Perhaps this is also why he’s managed to stave off the curse for so long, because of this supposed ability.
    This is probably all crack, but I thought it was an interesting thought. XD

    Still funny picturing a GIANT SNAKE stumbling upon a forbidden book and reading it. Preferably with comically small reading glasses.
