Ter Stegen has been at fault for so many Barca collapses and the fact that he’s still the ONLY choice at goalkeeper is a shame

As a Barca fan, seeing Ter Stegan last this long at club just shows the complacency at the club. Been at the club since 2014 and has 2-3 good seasons tops. Mind you we are talking about a keeper who has been at the club for a decade. Just overall disappointing

Ter Stegen, except for the 22/23 season, has had a rapid decline after an injury he suffered, I think it was to his knee, and I would mark that as the critical point in his drop in performance.
He’s never been good im a Barca fan look at all our ucl exits from 2017-2024, he’s overrated.
i've said this so many times, a gk can make or break your team. ter stagen should've been sold after roma collapse, after anfield, after bayern humiliation, and countless other games. i use the benzema (21-22) and messi (18-19) ucl campaigns as an example, both were having incredible seasons, but one had courtois in goal the other had ter stagen in goal. this keeper is one of the worst keepers i have seen play at barca since his decline in 2020. and he still has a contract till 2028

First time in a long time , i disagree with Lyes, provided he doest watch barca regularly, thats a premature and reactionary take from him and the fans plus the prem bias, ter stegen's worst shot stopping season is on par with ederson's best season, raya never even reached anywhere in terms of shot stopping to ter stegn,allison is the only one comparable to mats in terms of preventing goals and even he makes mistakes....mats is slandered as he is a barca player, although i agree that even though he is a more solid keeper than the other, he is also more prone to make that one mistake that everyone notices

Ter Stegen messed up that first time and never regained his head but hot take - I completely understand that Ter Stegen concedes insane goals this is very true but I can think back to many times he's made some incredible reflex saves and also what's the GK market looking like? Not great I don't think I can say for certain Inaki Pena isn't better than Ter Stegen so already we're in a tough spot

I have been criticising Ter Stegen since 2017 but guys were mad and blinded by his cute passes and some great stretches of him in a few seasons. He has been a major issue for our defense for the most part of the last decade.
The passing was supposed to be the upside. A bit like Valdes when he used to occasionally have blunders but he made up for it with great passing and distribution. The issue is now of Ter Stegen's distribution and ability on the ball are also declined, he brings nothing else
