- Historic Living Modern World presents a short video of Gregory reproofing his Belstaff waxed cotton motorcycle jacket. A heritage piece that will be ready to take on the road with a rain resistance that will protect the wearer for another heavy riding season. Cheers.
I could be wrong but i think the jackets a Roadmaster not a Trialmaster. One of the chest pockets is at an angle on the Trialmaster.
You are correct, Grant. The jacket I’m waxing is my roadmaster, but I own a vintage trialmaster from the 60’s and I’m referring to the overall styling of a four pocket waxed riding coat. Belstaff has officially done away with the “roadmaster” name and replaced it with “trialmaster” for these jackets.
@@historiclivingmodernworld4575 Thanks for the lightning fast reply. I did enjoy watching the video.
@@grantglossop2758 Not a problem! Thank you for reaching out, and appreciate the compliment!
@@historiclivingmodernworld4575 I had a Belstaff back in the 70's when they were buttons to buy and everyone said you only had one if you couldn't afford a leather.
My Mrs has the Roadmaster, it's a cracker of a jacket and I have the Trialmaster. As has been noted the Trialmaster is a lot boxier than the Roadmaster.
@@larry4789 thanks for the comments. We would love to see a picture of your jackets.
Thanks for the video. That's a very cool corduroy hat! Mind telling us where you got it? All the best to you, and stay safe on that bike!
What kind of Triumph motor cycle is at the end of the video?
It’s my Triumph Thruxton. I really love it….it’s a modern classic
@@historiclivingmodernworld4575 probably the best retro bike there is.
I had a Thunderbird Sport 20 odd years ago that was another cracker
I have 6 Belstaffs and even more Barbours.
For some reason the Belstaffs are easier to wax and end up looking better.
I have many belstaff jackets, and a Barbour Beaufort. The fit (for me) is way better on a Belstaff. The Barbour is a bit boxie and the hardware is nice, but belstaff has better features and the details are killer! Thanks for reaching out with feedback!
@@historiclivingmodernworld4575 The Belstaffs are waaaaaay smarter.
The Belstaffs aren't as warm but the drawback of the Barbours being warm is that you sweat like a Tory MP after walking only a mile or so even on the coldest of days.
I'd say my Racemaster is one of the best casual jackets I've ever worn.
A few years ago the zip on my citymaster broke so I took it the Bestaff boutique in Manchester and they repaired it no questions asked.
On the other hand when my Barbourd Redhead boots both split Barbour Customer Services were useless
Can I use Barbour wax? Is it the same?
Absolutely! It’s a little cheaper than Belstaff wax and the procedure of applying is exactly the same. It also performs just as well as the Belstaff wax. Give me a yell if you have other questions!
Do you offer rewaxing services?
Hello Nikolaos, thanks for the question.
At this time we do not have a service set up to do re-waxing.
Again, thanks for watching and if you having any questions on re-waxing, we’d be happy to help.
Wow ! your jacket is so cool
Thank you Ruruka. We’re going to have more Belstaff Jacket videos coming in the very near future. Stay tuned.
What products do you use to wax it?
Hello Joshua, thanks for reaching out! I use Belstaff and Barbour waxes….they both are very similar.
Barbour wax is cheaper and that can matter! Good luck!
Had a great time filming this segment….
why would you record it with such low volume?! i guess the question should be, why would you upload this video with such a low volume quality?!
Thank Carlos. Try turning your volume up.
Maybe that will help.
