This week HLMW takes you to Belstaff in New York City for a behind the scenes look at their customization event. The artisan workshop team did an incredible job on a custom patch for Gregory's 60 year old Belstaff Trialmaster Jacket.

drool. Every one on two wheels in Ireland has one. Mine (1989 london). has been in more bike accidents than me. (I lent it to a friend and he came off, heh. Don't worry,.. the jacket was fine). Spotted this video as I'm embarking on a full service. Full clean, wax, patches and eviction of voles. Rivet the stress points and keep 'er lit as they say

Hey Karl, thanks for your interest. This Belstaff jacket is a “Branxton” and it’s made of lamb skin. I believe I purchased it in 2017 in NYC at the Mad Ave store. It’s a beautiful jacket and a “go-to” of mine.

I noticed you could build your own trialmaster. I wonder does that mean you can literally design your own jacket, or does that mean they take a jacket like a template and then just make some modifications to it?

Great question. Belstaff gives you quite a bit of freedom when it comes to building your customer Trialmaster. For instance, you can choose the pattern and color of the liner, choose different buttons, patches, etc. It still looks like a Trialmaster, but it will definitely be one of a kind.
