Been about a year already and there have been no serious issues. These people are victims and loving family oriented people... how anyone could turn them away is heartbreaking.
This makes me so proud to be Canadian and I sincerely hope these families thrive here grow up in peace and safety. Hopefully this will instill the Canadian spirit in then ans they will one day give back to others in need and learn just how powerful being kind hearted can be.

The reason there have been no major incidents is because we have tough immigration laws. The people that came from Syria to Canada are legit war refugees, unlike in Germany or France where they just let anyone in with their open borders. That is a naive and dangerous way to operate a country.

Of all the countries handling the recent refugee crisis, Canada is doing it better than anyone. Now, granted, Canada has numerous advantages that European countries don't have as refugees can't just walk right in, but nonetheless, they're at the top of their game when it comes to the numbers they're accepting, the process of bringing them in, and the treatment of them afterward. This isn't surprising considering how well Canada has handled its refugees in the past, and it's paid off well given how much those refugees have contributed to Canadian society as a whole.

I realize it is an idiot talking point of the anti-immigrant crowd but it has no actual bearing on reality as that is not usually how the situation works. There are some people that do take in refugee families for a while until they get on their feet, but I personally do not have room in my place for any more people. If I did and had the time to help them out I would not have an issue with it, I like people from other countries just fine, many of them are much nicer, more decent people than the assholes that are already here (like you for instance). The key to all this is tough immigration law. In Canada we do a more thorough job screening people than the USA or most European countries. Notice the only countries having issues are the ones with open border policies like Germany and France. You just can't let anyone into your country and expect things to stay the same. Canada must always have tough immigration laws to keep our country a great place to live.
If all refugees were like this family then there would be no problem! Unfortunatly they are not all like this, but this family are deserving and I wish them all the best!
