    I've watched the family's follow up videos first and I truly hope they feel welcome in Canada.
    They've really been starting from scratch, I admire their courage.
    We've many Syrian refugees here in Austria/Europe as well, so I'm a bit familiar with their daily struggles.
    Unfortunately I've also met one refugee from Nigeria, who's been denied refugee status so far; no more appeals and so I'm worried about his future.

      Look, I like trolling and kidding a lot, so I'm not angry you're doing it.
      Worrying about someone doesn't mean marrying, otherwise I would have to be married to many people all at the same time - males as well as females alike.
      I wouldn't do him a huge favour with my own drug rap sheet anyways, as the main reason, Nigerians don't get Austrian citizenship is, lots of them have come here to sell stuff in the past - so my rap sheet would throw shade on him, he doesn't have so far.
      (I've translated his law related files for him, so I'd highly likely know).
      If that's hypocrisy to you, so be it!

    Something about the kids cleaning their shoes to make the best impression hits me. I hope all refugees of war torn countries can come to Canada and be welcomed. My neighbors are immigrants, great people. Gave us a card on Christmas thanking us for being good neighbors. I cut their lawn for free and helped them build their fence. They insisted on paying but I don't need money from them. And they got about 4 kids, this little one who always says hi to me every time I go outside, she's so cute.

    Having viewed the more recent account of these dear souls it is very apparent that a Syrian heart and a Canadian heart beat in unison!
    As a father and grandfather my own welfare is not a barrier (certainly not language) for making a better life for my children and grand children.
    And when the father of these people saw the plight of the people in Ft. MacMurray his very 1st response was to go fight the fire! That my friends is a heart that mirrors the Canadian heart and that makes him a Canadian of the heart!!

    This story made me feel so good. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for Huda to leave her mother, sister and other family members behind and how tough for the children to leave friends and for all of them to learn a new language, make new friends and begin a new life. I hope that I will find Syrian families near my own home in the U.S. soon. I welcome them with open arms. :) Good luck to this lovely family!

    • @4evrnick
      @4evrnick 8 лет назад +5

      They shouldn't be here. That they are leaving friends and family shows that they are not refugees fleeing for their lives, but people in Canada taking from the taxpayers because they want a better life. Western taxpayers should not have to pay the bill for such people. As an aside, I'm an Orthodox Christian native of Ma'aloula, Syria who has been in the West for over 30 years. Unlike these people, Christians in Syria are genuinely the targets of systematic genocide. More than 5 million are missing and unaccounted for. Christians are more westernized and generally better educated than Muslims. Many, like my family, were educated in the West, speak the language and could actually contribute to our societies. Why are those who are accounted for not permitted to come to the West? As an aside, in Syria, most Muslim women do not wear headscarves. That is done only by the Fundamentalist minority who tend to hate the West. These folks will be a problem in the future.

      I know it feels good to be an apologist leftie. But when the crunch does eventually come.[ prob in Canada about 30 years time ] you will have the same treatment as the rest of us. You should not sell your country out. plenty of politicians to do that. really look hard between the lines.. also what is stupid o'rilley ? Fox , that multinational company run by the Australian tyrant Murdoch ?? ok what ever you say.

    • @josephsideman3699
      @josephsideman3699 7 лет назад +4

      You see, I'm not a racist when everything goes well, do you understand this point ? The U.S. was created with immigration of Europeans and white folks and the same goes for Canada. I say yes to immigration, but with very strict rules and understanding of the host country. To much immigration is counterproductive and dangerous for are ways, freedom and culture. Immigration should come from a mix of different cultures and most preferably in small quantity of different influences. To avoid the ghetto phenomenon and make sure the kids of those migrant get assimilated by being mixed with are people in school and out of the house. For those refugee in dire condition, screening with lies detector should be mandatory for anyone older than 13 years of age. You see, the problem is that we're getting to lease and we do not make enough kids to sustain are race. So we pick the right one to maintain are growth while protecting are freedom and culture or we all disappear eventually. For those already here, if they get tempted by those religion fanatics, citizen or not, it's out of the country as persona non grata for ever. That's it, plain and simple. As for everything, to much is no good, moderation and equilibrium is the best way to go. Have a good time and clean all those corrupted politicians in D.C. They are ripping you off big time.

      yeah, they will have the freedom to get on your welfare paid for by Canadian taxapayers, and the freedom to launch war in your country. Just wait 10 years and what happened in France will happen in Canada, pretty soon, you will realize you are living in a town where loud prayer broadcast in Arabic echoes loudly in your whole town, 5 times a day....There will be ghettos and no-go zone in Canada in the near future.

      That's not the appropriate question in this instance. Of course any parent would try to do what he is doing. Duh! The pertinent question is whether it's in the best interest of Canadians and Canada to let these people in. They were safe in Jordan, so letting them in really wasn't done for humanitarian reasons. Now, they will be a burden on the taxpayers for who knows how long and if they get jobs, they may be taking them from a deserving Canadian. Is it really worth it just for the liberal government to feel like it's doing good? I wonder.As an aside, I'm an Orthodox Christian who was born in Ma'aloula, Syria and is now a US citizen, having lived here since I was a freshman at Stanford in the early 1980s. I bear no ill will toward these people. I simply thing western countries should put the interest of their own people first when it comes to admitting immigrants who aren't at risk in their current locations.

    • @red8ball864
      @red8ball864 8 лет назад +2

      Oh it appropriate and the fact that you would do the same proves how appropriate it is.
      As for the rest of it that's for the government to decide. I'm just defending the man's actions.

    • @4evrnick
      @4evrnick 8 лет назад +2

      +Jeffrey Husk no, that I and everyone else might want to do it doesn't mean that it should happen. 99% of the Third World wants to immigrate to the West. Do you not see the problem with letting them do so simply because they want to? The West needs to start placing its own people first and not the desires of people from the outside. A lot of Romans thought like you about the Barbarians and, I assume, you are aware of how that ended.

      +NIcholas Bilski I couldn't agree more. I clicked on this video because I was confused why anyone would "flee" from Jordan. That family is clearly looking to provide a better future for their children, which is obviously fair enough, but in the current situation, I feel like the west should only take in refugees (who are actually in danger) temporarily or only let the ones stay who really can't go back even when things even out again. Btw, one side of my family is also (Greek) orthodox Christian and they fled from Syria to Turkey which is still far from ideal (especially at that time) but this way my father had the opportunity to go to Germany to study.

    My hope would be that the wealthy Islamic countries would welcome and help get them on their feet. I wish birth control was more utilized in this faith. I feel it is socially irresponsible to have a family that must rely on generous welfare states to support such large families. I am a first generation American and my parents only wanted to assimilate into American life. They found work immediately and adopted the language, fashion, would not speak to us children in their native tongue. They never applied nor received any welfare or unemployment. In some of the smaller affluent Western social democracies, the citizens are becoming the minority and their culture is being transformed. Further, my European friends have complained that crime, drug use, the double standard of Islamic men and women, and black marketing seems to originate in many of the refugee housing. Some have been in country for nearly 5 years and are unemployed and do not speak the language of their new homes. I am all for helping those affected by famine, war, and poverty, but it must have a term limit on all handouts.

Except, Israel is not a big place to bring that many refugees. On the hand, Saudi Arabia is much bigger country. Matter of facts, there are many tents somewhere in the desert empty. Supposed to be for the refugees. You know why? Because they are rich and lazy. They would rather have pay the slaves to serve for them.

We always need a bigger, newer house, new car, lots and lots of food while others have nothing. The apathy of politicians of homeless refugees is unbelievable. Canada, Sweden , Jordan, Germany, Greece and Lebanon have kind leaders. Gladly there are nice people in kind countries who take in the downtrodden. This family is in a wonderful country Canada.

      Well, since mankind began in Africa, how about you go back where God intended you to live? Since the first man, migration has happened. When you stay put with bombs hitting homes in your neighborhood and children getting shot, raids and raping in the streets, then you will understand and be begging to go elsewhere too for a safe life for your kids, but til then at least respect their need to protect and educate their children and leave them be without condemning them for something you can't begin to understand.

      "Swidden" is not afraid of "saria", partly because Prophet Muhammad himself did not even impose Islamic religious rules upon non-Muslims, and to do so is both illogical and un-islamic. Try to focus your anxieties on real and pressing problems, like poverty in Canada's far north, or the lack of resources for abused men and boys in Canada, or over-incarceration facing Canada's first Nations, or the risk of indigenous languages extinction, or the pollution of Canada's drinking water systems, or the lack of privacy in this era of tech or any number of other real problems.
