Thx. I've been doing Muay Thai for about 6 years now. Feels like 60 years, haha. It's pretty much all I do, outside of working and being with my family. Thanks for the support!
It is actually the opposite. If you check a kick while flat footed, you will fall over. If you stand flat footed in your stance and have someone push you. You will stumble. This is no different. Get in a clinch and try it. If flat footed you will get ran over. If on the balls of your feet, you have more balance, control, and mobility. If he pushes on you, you can push back or use their own momentum to turn them. OR you can easily load up for some knees. Try it out, you'll see what I mean. :)
Thx, I will eventually get to sweeps etc. I'm super busy so I just pretty much record what feels the easiest to record at the time. Sweeps are more intricate and take longer to record. Gotta include every small detail. If not, then I gotta keep doing retakes. It sucks. They will b up over time.
This technique is a great one, just be sure you've got the arm strength and core to control a strong opponent. What's the name of the song from the tune at the start of the video?
You videos are awesome. I have asked once and I now ask again, will you make a couple videos of different dumps in the clinch? I would also like to see a few sweeps and other moves off of catching the kick. Those are the hardest moves to think about doing in the middle of sparring.
