      possibly, from what I know though it's a parody that talks about a girl named Katyusha from Karelia. most likely an anti-Soviet song since it talks about defending the motherland from the Russians.

    When translating this song shouldnt the name still be Katjuusa in english? since that is her name. I dont get why the name is made russian when translating from finnish to english.

      it might have to do with the historical context of the original song which was in Russian

      @@TapWaterTaffy yeah still weird tho, people dont usually translate names. expecially since katyusha is russian and in english it would be katherine.
