    Assalam-o-Alikum!
    Sir kindly clear the meaning of valency of radical- either it represents the combining capacity of the unit as a whole or represents the excess/deficiency of electrons to complete octet?

    To sir phr ion or radical ma difference kiaa ha?

    • @ChemistryPlusOfficial
      @ChemistryPlusOfficial  2 года назад +1

      An ion is an atom of an element or a group of atoms of different elements that behave as a single unit with a positive and negative charge on it. Whereas, radical (often called as 'free radical') is an atom of an element or a group of atoms of different elements that has at least one unpaired electron.

    Sir definition of radical is incorrect. Radical is any specie having unpair electron.
    The definition which you mentioned on the board is for ion.
    ..
    I am confused now.

    What is Net Charge??

    • @ChemistryPlusOfficial
      @ChemistryPlusOfficial  4 года назад

      If an object has more protons than electrons, then the net charge on the object is positive. If there are more electrons than protons, then the net charge on the object is negative. If there are equal numbers of protons and electrons, then the object is electrically neutral.
