Do you know how many splines the steering shaft in a 2011 Chrysler 200 is? I'm trying to figure out what aftermarket hub adapter might work to install an aftermarket steering wheel. Thanks in advance.
It should be the same. They didnt change much on the new Chrysler 200s after 2010 to now they upgraded the transmission and for suspension they put an anti roll bar in to help too and some interior and exterior upgrades. All else remained the same. They dont make aftermarket performance parts for the car cause its a family sedan. And discontinued so your opinions are fining like a universal wheel or see about swapping the steering column wielding in one.
Question: Is the clock spring apart of the “multifunctional switch”? My horn (2015 Chrysler 200) stopped working and I got a diagnostic done and the problem was in the steering wheel. The technician wrote horn switch needs to be replaced. But I’m unsure what exactly he meant? 🤔
You can check the imobilizer the alarm system and that work hand in hand or simply replace the battery in your key fob. Also check your doors maybe the hinge is loose or the little sensor in the door that tells if the door is open is dieing, could be bad wiring, wind could also be a factor.
Thank you. I had my mechanic check the horn under the hood, including all the wiring and all was good. He even hard-wired it and the horn worked just fine. That’s when he determined it may be the clock spring in the steering wheel. I took it to the dealer and surprisingly they got it to work, but after I parked my car, a day or two later, I heard my horn blowing on its own, while the car was off. Then I turned it on to check the horn, nothing, it didn’t work again. I took it back to the dealer, they confirmed it was the switch. So I wanted to know if the “multifunctional switch” included the clock spring. 🤷🏾♀️
In terms of a malfunctional switch i dont believe that exist, i could be wrong. Maybe he meant the horns switch is malfunctioning. Basically horns have a switch when you press it, it will turn on and beep when you release it turns off. Ill tear down my steering wheel for you later today and see if i can find something in relation and make a video on it.
@@chryslerforums4331 Yes, he said it was the horn switch, but when I tried to find the part online I could not find it. I then called another Chrysler dealer and they said, there's no such thing as a horn switch, maybe he meant "multifunction switch" which is identical to what you replaced in the above video which includes the clock spring. Is the horn switch apart of the part you replaced in your video? Sorry so many questions, my horn has been shot for months and it's such a safety hazard. I want to get it fixed, but I'm not trying to pay the outrageous price the dealer quoted me.
You obviously haven't done any work on these vehicles. This is a Sebring its the model before they put out the Chrysler 200, the 200 is the exact same car only differences are a styling interior/exterior they added stabilizer bar under the hood and a transmission upgrade other than those 3 things its the same process same connectors same engine same frame same chasse you name it. So please stick to what you know. Have a good day PS- I put all the information in the discription below the video years BEFORE you're comment. You set a perfect example of illiteracy.

Finally! A mechanic who knows how to do an instructional video that you can understand... and in modern terminology to boot! 😂
Hope it helped thanks bro
Thanks for uploading this video. Just ordered a clockspring & will try replacing it soon. I"ll come back & comment with the outcome.
Thank you. Very helpful
The Third connector is for traction control (the one that was missing on his new clock spring)
🕵 interesting set up - thks 👍

Good fucking shit man! Great fucking video, thank you! 😅
What’s the torq bit size for lower shroud ? Is it likes temper free one ?
How long did it take you to do that
Where can I find the full assembly. I can only find the clock spring
camera work could use some help... but informative.
If my horn still works when I use my key fob should I try this ? No horn for about a week but my alarm still works.
The computer might have unlearned its alarm system. It could be as simple as a reprogram.
My mom is having the same issue like urs but I got to travel 700 miles to fix hers
Is this the same process with a 2012 Dodge Avenger 2.4l 4 cylinder?
Yes bro its the exact same

I will check that to see if any of that helps. I actually just changed my key fob battery no too long ago, but my horn still doesn’t work.

What would cause horn to go off randomly on its own
@@itsme-ns4kd bad wiring most likely. Try wiggling some of the wiring by the horns or closer to the pcm.

@@chryslerforums4331I replaced horns, battery in key fob and cleaned key fob. Only thing I haven't done yet is wiring since I don't have a diagram
Thanks Man, very useful !
Sorry about the profanity i was a bit angrier back in the day
