So he still went against the script.
Yeah but he said, I will be back sounds better. then the director said well just say I’ll be back, then. So it was a compromise between the two I guess.
No I think James Cameron legitimately forgot the line and they made a fake script to make it seem like he wasn’t a moron
@@chubeviewer Did you not watch the explanation at all?
@@connorwesthoff948 Wtf dude, how can you watch someone explain something so simple and completely miss the point?
@@AfonsoCL the video doesnt explain it well because it contradicts itself.
That Sylvester scene😅😅👏
Bonus ending 😂
Lol sly was just dead inside at that one lol. This was supposedly when they were going at it in there careers too lol
He does not want to hear that s*it! The rivalry was legendary!
What's the name of that Stallone movie???🤔🎬
@@alwinuding8926 Stop or my mom will shoot, pretty funny movie lol
.....my mother was 86, literally on her death bed, some of her very last words in her best 'Arnie voice' were "I'll be back". She had quite the sense of humour, I've still got it on video.
Love that
Awh man that is heart warming 🥹
Post the video
No way! That's hilarious. It shows her great sense of humor AND the clarity of her mind at that time.
To be honest… that would scare me shitless 😂
RIP to your mom… I miss mine. Never got a chance to say goodbye
Stallones reaction at the end😂😂😂
It wasn't just the line, it was him actually coming back...with weapons.
Actually a car.
A car...that has weapons in it!
No the car abruptly and unexpectedly bursting through the front is what makes the scene.
Are you referencing Fairly Odd Parents?
To be or not to be... ANNIHILATED!
Sly's reaction to his mom quoting his biggest frenemy!😂😂😂❤
Their competition and one ups man ship is so fun!
You're telling me that wasn't Estelle Getty at the end of this clip?
"Say the line, or else I'll give OJ a call....."
Na, OJ is not a believable killer...
@@chrism9962 OJ is innocent.
Imagine OJ saying "come with me if you want to live".
Ojs star power and a little acting class would’ve sold this role. But Arnold was a better fit
Naturally OJ would've killed it.
Wait...there's 2 different stories happening here. I am so confused.
Right?? Did Arnie change the line or did Cameron?
Me too
The moral of the story is that no one was right, but for Cameron's story they showed the script. So, I'm guessing Cameron's story is the correct one
in the script the line was ‘i’ll come back’ but arnold wanted to say ‘i will be back’ cs it sounds more robotic so james cameron comprised wit ‘i’ll be back’ instead
@@perceth That's ultimately the conclusion I came to as well. I think Arnold misspoke in one of the interviews so it was throwing me off. 🤣🤣
James Cameron is a rare breed. He's a master of cinema
Up to and including T2 and maybe Titanic, yes. But not beyond
@@Tamarlane389 the Avatar movies made a bunch of money. Man doesn't make flops. You may not like the movie, but it will have been profitable. True Lies and T2 are Cameron at his best as a writer.
@@clanwaddell5628 money =/= good
@@Tamarlane389Avatar has the same rating on IMDB as Titanic. Objectively, you cant include Titanic without including Avatar.
@@clanwaddell5628a movie being profitable doesn’t automatically make it good. There has been a lot of cookie cutter garbage that the masses ate up and there are a lot of masterpieces that barely made their budget. Titanic was Cameron’s last great film. He is now an explorer who directs CGI heavy movies when he gets bored.
This line instantly made Arnold a legend and action icon!!!!
But the script said. “ I’ll come back “ 😂
Reading is a skill 😅
It show his humility. He admits he was wrong. It takes a big person to admit that.
Don’t make it bigger than it is. Arnold has absolutely 0.0 to proof. Hence it is really simple to say he was right. Don’t make it huge
And Arnold was literally big so for Cameron to talk to Arnold like that I'm sure Arnold doesn't get treated like that all the time.
arnold flexing his adult muscles, not his baby muscles
It's normal to admit when you're wrong
@@arjanpetersenlol, thanks for being a voice of reason. I see these comments building Ahnuld into some super model.
Your right. He has ZERO proof and is looking for a cool backstory here
T1 and T2 are sooooo fucking good.
Stallone’s reaction at the end! Hilarious 😂
😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣The ending with Stallone and Getty got me...
"I'll come back" is a polite deference to authority.
"I'll be back" is a threat.
In fairness, if he'd said I will be back, I think it would have been equally as popular! When you get used to something it always seems right!
I think you're right, I had this same thought. Even if he said "I'll come back" like in the script, his presence and delivery probably still would've made it iconic

The hand movement and lips of the policeman are almost perfectly alligned with the voice of James Cameron. For a second there I thought that cop is correcting Arnold with: "The line is I'll come back...", lol.
Right I had to watch it again to see what you meant lol
There was at least one cop in that station who was two weeks from retirement.
“Only in a rerun , pal.” 😆
The Running Man
To this day I say "I'll be back" when I leave the house 😅
Get to the chopper..and ill be back..are the 2 greatest lines ever said
' Consida' Dat a divorse' after shooting Sharon Stone 😂
He cut that line from Jack to Rose…”I’ll be back”

@@whothennow24 probably xd
Dyslexia?
Sylvester nailed that reaction. 👍
That end stalone's reaction "cmon man it's not even his movie wtf" 😂
That was the funniest part of the movie i couldn't stop laughing at the cop reaction!!!
😱💥😂
Legend says... James is still scratching his head about this...
The cop being a jerk is what set that line up! The viewers hoped for a slap or punch but was totally off guard when Arnold "came back".
James Cameron: " Arnold i dont tell you how to act so dont tell me how to write"
Arnold: " Actually your the director so you are telling me how to act"
I love that little jab at Stallone at the end 😆 🤣
When Arnold was on the 'Graham Norton Show' he told a story of when the 'Terminator' first came out in NYC - he said a fan came up to him & started asking him to quote the line from the movie - Arnold said 'which line?' & the fan said the 'I'll be back' line - so Arnold said it back to him - who then said 'No, no, no. say it like you did in the movie' & thus a movie quote was born.
1983: I'll be Back
2023:oh my Back
It hits Sylvester hard having to be reminded of that line’s iconic popularity.
I like how Cameron says “say I’ll be back” and Arnold says “I will be back” and the script says “I’ll come back”
_i'll come back_ was written then Jim changed to _"i 'll be back"_ and its become the best and famous line movies' history
Whatever happened....out of the three, " I'll be back" was the best!
The line is supposed to illustrate that the T-800 is learning how to blend in by beginning to use contractions.
"I don't correct your acting"
Proceeds to retake the scene 50 times
“I don’t correct your acting”??
That’s his job - to correct the acting! He’s the director!
"I'LL COME BACK WHEN IT IS MOST CONVENIENT. WHAT ARE YOUR OPENING HOURS?"
That is what I'd like to see, a more cordial version.
he is an infiltration model, if he acted like a machine all the time it defeats the purpose of blending in with humans. hes not robocop, he is the terminator.
“Get to the chopper” though
If it bleeds we can kill it chorus.
Choppa
Show me some leadership!
Hasta la vista, baby.
It's actually Choppa!!! And I'll be back! Lol 😆
Sly's reaction so genuine 🤭🤣😅
"HE DIDN'T GET OUT OF THE COCKADOODYCAR!" I prefer that one.
Did you just make that up?
@@HoratioWallsIt's from Misery, very good movie
@@HoratioWalls Nope Annie Wilkes who ironically was a bit of a Terminator herself 🤣
@@gachapinCUEVA Tremendous film unlike today's trash served up.
Check out the audio book- It's different enough from the film. Stephen King's 'On Writing' talked about it, so I put that down, and picked up Misery; The suspense was fantastic. King says that he generally doesn't know how the story will end, as he's writing, so the suspense rubs off on the reader.
Shows you how celebs blow these talk show stories out of proportion.
I guarantee James Cameron didn’t say, “what does god d@mn script say? Then say the f’ing line…”
The overall story was kinda similar, but Arnold changed it to make everyone sound more badass. When in reality it was just a throwaway line that neither of them got worked up over, or thought that much of.
I like how Arnold didn’t even realize that he change the line to be back instead of come back😂
Where do they keep the Arnold Schwarzenegger action figures in the toy store?
Aisle B,
back..
Saw another vid making it that Arnold wanted to say 'I will be back' as a machine wouldn't say 'I'll'. These vids twisting up everything!
I want a shirt with Arnold that has, "I WILL BE BACK".
But isn't a director SUPPOSED to correct an actor's acting??
Haha yes! Although I guess that only applies to trainer actors I guess?
Yeah that’s what I thought too. I think he meant “I don’t tell you how to be an actor, so don’t tell me how to write my own material.”
False Stanley Kubrick one of the most prolific and prob the mist versatile director in the history of cinema never corrected his actors and he sumed it up best as someone can “ im a director and a writer not an acting coach i direct you act”
@@maximilianoinzunza2097 yea. And that's why he went up to 200 takes when he might not have had to...

"I'll BE back" = a threatening promise. Amazing how 1 word can make such a difference.
I've GOT THIS MOVIE ON DVD AND ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER WHO is Austrian WAS IN THIS MOVIE AND HE WAS A GREAT ACTOR AND HE WAS IN A MOVIE CALLED COLLATERAL DAMAGE AND ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER WAS IN THIS MOVIE AND AT THE END OF THIS MOVIE HE WAS RESCUED BY A REMOTE CONTROLLED HELICOPTER AND HE KILLED A MAN WHO TRIED TO SHOOT HIM AND THAT WAS THE END OF THIS MOVIE AND I'VE GOT THIS MOVIE ON DVD AND ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER WAS A GREAT ACTOR IN THIS MOVIE 😁
"Go ahead. Make my day." is right up there.
Honestly that one takes the cake
I have to agree but I feel like it's just not circulating anymore. I've talked to a fair amount of people and almost no one recognized "Are you feeling lucky...punk?"
"Houston, we have a problem"
"You talkin' to me?"
"That'll do pig"
"Theres no place like home"
"Show me the money"
"I see dead people"
Lots of contenders.

This scene always irritated me when I watched it... The scene came after the hotel room scene when he cut his eye out. In this scene, when he's talking to the police officer, you can see through his glasses that the eye that was supposed to be cut out was still there. They could have put something over his eye in that scene that would have at least made it look to some degree that his eye was no longer there even if they were on a small budget. It's called attention to detail.
Hearing Schwarzenegger and the sound in this scene on the 13 Pro Max speaker is 😳🥶😨
"He made an offer he couldn't refuse "
Clint Eastwoods "Do you feel lucky punk, well do ya?"
the stories of the old classics are often as interesting as the movies themselves!
And then it became Arnolds calling card. He started using the line in all of his movies. Haha
And Arnold was write because a computer would not use a contraction.
I loved "Stop! Or my mom will shoot!" Had it on vhs
Arnold is a real one.
That's why the lord of the rings trilogy and the hobbit movies will always be better than any movie made by james Cameron. Because peter jackson actually listens to his actors.
His King Kong is an underappreciated masterpiece.
Arnold is genuine cinema royalty
It was what came after he said that, is what made a legendary
That last clip is super underrated, so many will miss this inside joke
What’s the inside joke?
I Love Arnie so fucking much lol... i really hope i get to meet him before he's gone..
Didn’t Jesus say that? That should give you goosebumps.
Arnold telling the story is the best part. Him admitting he was wrong and laughing about it is fantastic. The man is just a class act.
James: “Say the line Arnold.” 🤨
Arnold: “I’ll be back.“ 😎
Everyone: YAY!!! 😀
These are two people talking about different things and it still worked.
😅
Arnold was hung up on the "I'll". And James intended the word "come". Not "be"!
Arnold goes against the script but gives Cameron the credit for writing it. Nice.
Honestly, Arnold was right. He just made it work, but he was right.
The humility he exhibits about it is tremendous!
The line works so well because by the time the police station scene is about to happen you already know that the Terminator is an unstoppable force that is single minded on it's mission and will stop at nothing to kill Sarah Connor. "I'll Be Back" is a clue that something bad is about to happen very soon. First time seeing the movie I knew all hell was about to go off.
Tbh if he had said “I’ll come back” or “ I will be back” both would still go on to become the most famous line in history … because the movie was good, not the line 😏
Ther TERMINATOR says I'll come back
Im crazy or Arnold are becaming older and their Austrian accent stronger, when should being lighter 😮
PURE CLASS BABE 😎
PURE CLASS 😎😎
I’m still lost though 🧐🧐
What did the Fucken Script Actually Say…….????
The little knock on Stallone’s worst movie is perfect.
I like how the police officer in the beginning moves his lips synchronously with the text of the voiceover. Looks like he was trying to correct Arnold to say correct words as they were written in the script)
he should have said "STOP! OR MY MOM WILL SHOOT!"
😂 Imagine a meat head muscle man telling you how to write script lines?
Acting coach- Okay Radioactive Man, now say, “Up and at them!”
McBain- Up N ADAM!
Couch- No its “Up and at them!
McBain- Up AN ADOM!
Coach- “Up and at them!”
McBain- “UP ANN AHDEM!!
Coach- Better.
I'll come back,
is what the script said.
I will come back,
is what Arnold wanted to say.
I'll be back,
is what Cameron told Schwarzenegger to say and then asked him,
What's on the script?!!
I'M SO CONFUSSSED!
Arnold: James, I don't think "I'll come back" makes sense.
Cameron: What would you say?
Arnold: Yippee-Ki-Yay, mothaF********.
I must've heard this story a hundred times by now.
I'll come back :James Cameron🚢. I will come back: Arnold Schwarzenegger 🗡️or : I'LL BE BACK: Cyborg🤖 Terminator
One of the 3 SCARIEST phrases known 2 mankind, the other being "I'll just put it on your ON-FILE credit card#" & the udder being "Would you please step out of the car?"😮😱😢
3 things , if it wasn’t supposed to be a big deal why is it emphasized like that in the script 🧐 this was meant to be horror sci-fi, I’ll come back would be a comedic approach. 2…was it I will come back or I’ll come back according to Swarmajiggawartz & 3……Estelle Getty clearly delivers the line with much more horrifying yet golden elegance you go girl P.S…………………………………………………………………………………
I ……………………shall return 😎
This movie had the biggest one liners in the history of Hollywood. "I'll be back" "Wrong", "Get out!", "F you a##hole!"😂
"I'll be back" - a man in a troubled relationship with a woman squealing on him for domestic violence
"Wrong" someone defending his amendment right to bear arms
"Get out" the best solution to truck driver turnover, expensive salaries, driver shortages, etc. Freight driver robots
"F you a$$hole" Man can't kick a porn addiction
Why did the T-800 need a car to be back? He entered the Police station on foot in the first place. Why did he need a car to enter the Police station the second time?
Before, they said the original line was "I WILL BE BACK", but Arnold wasn't comfortable saying the original line, because of his Austrian accent. Contradictive information. 😩
Hard to believe it's been 40 years since THE TERMINATOR was released.
Man. Out of all the years I miss the most. 1984 is it.
They’re contradicting lol does anyone here have any comprehension skills? Or am I missing something Lmao James Cameron says the line was “I’ll come back” and that it wasn’t supposed to be important. Arnold Schwarzenegger says it was supposed to be “I’ll be back” not “I will be back” and that James Cameron was right. It became the most quoted line in history. Absolutely nothing here is lining up 😅😂
I'll be back was also pronounced differently. More like I'll be Bach, Like the famous Darth and Luke scene, it HAS changed.
This is literally the most confusing story. The line was "I'll come back." But Arnold claims it was "I'll be back." and says James wrote it. WTF
