What a crazy film here ! Who did you think the killer was the first time? How old were you when you first watched this! Was this YOUR favorite sequel. RIP to the great Randy. You were always a suspect but a real one. Really gonna miss him in these!

scream 2 was a great sequel after the original. i know people are going to already comment say the 3rd scream isn't good or it's not the best, but in my opinion it is very underrated and one of my favorites in the scream franchise. so i can't wait to see you guys react to it.

They had to make a lot of changes because the original plot was going to be Stu coming back to terrorize the high school, but Columbine happened, so they had to pivot. 3 is definitely my least favorite of the original trilogy, but not of all 6.

    Some fun facts for you.
    1. During CiCi (Sarah Michelle Gellar) scene there's quite a few things happening. She was talking to Selma Blair on the phone before she talked to ghostface and in between. They co-stared in "Cruel Intentions" together and when they were talking on the phone they were talking about Bailey on "Party of Five" which was the tv series that Neve Campbell (Sidney) was doing during all three Screams. Also, Jennifer Love Hewitt was also in "Party of Five" as Baileys girlfriend thats who they were talking about regarding to a break up. Which she also co-star in IKWYDLS with SMG. She also turned on a vampire movie as a reference to her Buffy. Sarah Michelle Gellar was very busy in 97 she was doing this, I know what you did last summer and 2nd season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
    - Neve was also really busy in the late 90's. Same year Scream 96 came out her and Skeet Ulrich (Billy) did "The Craft" together, she was doing her tv series "Party of Five" and also filmed "Wild Things" with Kevin Bacon and Matt Dillon in 97 the same year Scream 2 came out. Courtney Cox (Gale) was doing "Friends" the whole time she was doing "Scream, Scream 2 and 3.
    2. When Randy mentioned about Gales nude pictures and how her head was on Jennifer Aniston body it was a funny towards "Friends". Aswell with David Schwimmer playing Dewey in Stab especially since he plays Ross as Monica's (Courtney Cox) brother on "Friends".
    3. Originally it was supposed to be Ms. Loomis hiring Derek and Hallie as the killers and Mickey as the supportive friend to Sidney but it got leaked while filming so they changed it to Ms. Loomis and Mickey as the killers. I'm glad that they changed it because then it would have been repetitive.

Sorority sister Rebecca Gayheart was in Jawbreaker which also starred Rose McGowan and Julie Benz (Julie Benz played Darla in Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
She was also in the slasher film Urban Legend.
Portia de Rossi (the other sister) was in werewolf movie Cursed (by Wes Craven & Kevin Williamson) which also starred Joshua Jackson (he was in Cruel Intentions & Urban legend). Skeet Ulrich was also supposed to be in Cursed but was cut.
Urban Legend also stars Robert Englund aka Freddy Krueger.
Jamie Kennedy also starred in Ghost Whisperer who also starred Jennifer Love Hewitt.
      God I love the 90s early 2000s

@rotru4977 Yes, I loved Rebecca Gayheart in Urban Legends she was good at playing crazy. I also knew her from Beverly Hills, 90210. I also watched Joshua Jackson in Dawson's Creek. In Urban Legends, when he turned on his car radio, the 1st song that popped on for like a second was Dawson's Creek theme song.
I LOVED Julie Benz as Darla more on Angel. Her character was more fleshed out on there than on BtVS. I also like the character dynamic between Jamie Kennedy character and JLH character Melinda on Ghost Whisper.
Kevin Williamson was also the interviewer on TV with Cotton in Scream 2.

@dancerkris95 ok not to go off road here s bit. But I'm a huge BTVS fan (my dogs name is Willow for Pete's sake 🤣) and I love that SMG and Matt Lilard are both Scream alum but along with Freddie Prinze, the trio was in Scooby-Doo and She's All That. And of course SMG and Prinze in IKWYDLS.
Speaking of "Buffy" I don't know how much of a fan you are or how much episodes you remember. But in season 1 there is an episode of the invisible girl (Clea DuVall, also in She's All That) and in season 2 there'd a guy that betrays Buffy from her old school (Jason Behr, also in Dawson's Creek) well all 3 of them are in the movie The Grudge.
I love all these little connections 🥰

@@rotru4977 OH and Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott) and Ryan Phillippe (Barry from IKWYDLS) were in the movie "54" together that came out in 98'. So, in the late 90s-early 00's, it was mixed with Neve Campbell, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddy Prinze Jr., Matthew Lillard and Ryan Phillippe. They were like the 80's brat pack but for the 90's, lol. Oh, and Skeet Ulrich (Billy Loomis) and Jamie Kennedy (Randy) also had cameos in "As Good As It gets" with Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt, and Greg Kinnear, and that came out in 97'.
Yes, I love BtVS. I couldn't tell you how many times I've watched the series, especially lately, when the reruns are on a constant repeat on tv. Between BtVS and Angel series I LOVE Buffy, Spike, Angel, Drusila, Cordelia, Faith especially in Angel and last season of Buffy, Fred/Illyria, Tara and Giles even though he really frustrated me in the last season. I loved Joyce in the later season 3-season 5, not so much in the 1st, 2nd, or beginning of season 3.

Scream was always a horror movie first and foremost, comedy movie second. There’s zero tension in 3. Still, a bad Scream movie is still better than a good movie in most other franchises.

Yeah, one of the clues regarding Mickey that most missed which you guys actually caught onto pretty quickly is that he always had a camera on him. The funny thing is Randy NAILED it when him and Dewey were listing suspects the whole boyfriend thing is old and want to break new ground and how Mickey the freaky Tarantino film student lol. The ONLY reason he moved on from it cause then it would also paint him as a suspect 😂 he also made a point to Dewey as a foreshadowing on how a girl could be a killer by using Jasons mother who was a terrific serial killer. AND another foreshadowing of being Ms. Loomis is that the scene that Dewey and Randy watched was when Billy brought up about his mom leaving his dad.

So for in this movie, it's pretty easy of a breakdown on which killer did what.
Ms. Loomis was only interested in Gale obviously since she was constantly on her heals lol and Sidney, but she couldn't risk Sidney seeing her till she was ready cause she'd recognize her like she did right away in the final Act. Gale because she literally wrote a book about her son and how she helped Sidney to kill her beloved angel of a son lol. Sidney also for obvious reason cause she did kill her son and her mom was what broke her family.
-Ms. Loomis tried to kill Dewey as a collateral he was someone that Gale really cared for, like how Billy was someone she cared for.
    - Randy was NEVER the target he didn't play any critical role in her son's death, AND Mickey was only targeting people with same names of those who were killed in Woodsboro. It was actually meant for Gale to be killed, hense, the statement, "Why are you even here Randy?" But HE answered HER phone and talked bad about her son, so she got knife happy like she explained to Sidney at the end before she got whacked in the head with the bottle.
    - Mickey was the actual copycat he gave the tickets to Phil Steven's and Maureen and killed CiCi. Obviously he killed Hallie, Derek, and the detectives only as collateral though because they were with Sidney when he was chasing her down. He was only allowed to torment Sidney, which he did mentally, but she was to be left for Ms. Loomis to act on her revenge

There's a 1995 movie called 'Copycat' starring Sigourney Weaver that's a mix between a serial killer/detective/horror movie that's pretty decent IMO. Harry Connick Jr. is in it as well and plays a really creepy character which is the complete opposite of his real self. He was Will Smith's pilot buddy in Independence Day.

Notice that ghost face called Gales phone when Randy picked it up, so ghost face was trying to kill Gale not to mention she was in Gales van, Randy didn’t know that the ghost face was Billy’s mom so when he started making fun of billy ghost face decided to kill him instead. Fun fact Matthew Lillard who played stu was a background extra in the sorority party scene.

You guys are honestly so fun to watch! Glad you enjoyed it. Scream 3 cops flack for being "the worst", but Scream 3 was a literal product of its time. They had to change the story and the tone of the film because the Columbine school shooting just happened, and the whole world was in a dark place, so they were ordered to change it. Aside from that, it's still highly enjoyable and really quite funny at times, but they at least still keep Sidney's character and her arc very grounded and real. Look forward to your reaction ❤

Kudos to you both for each guessing correctly. Yes, it was Jada Pinkett Smith in the beginning. Tori Spelling was named in the first one as the actress who would be picked to play her, so it's a joke when it does happen. The guy who plays Billy in Stab is Luke Wilson. They mention both David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston in this one as a nod to Courtney Cox in Friends. Telling Randy he'll never be the hero is a clue both to his death and who one of the killers must be.

I've had this theory for as long as I can remember regarding the car scene.
I believe Mickey was knocked out originally, but when Sid hit the horn, I think it woke him up but pretended to still be knocked out. That way, the girls mostly Sidney were out of the car since he wasn't allowed to actually kill her and for her to be lure to the theater building for Ms. Loomis. Because he got out WAY too quickly after they did and then did like a syke trick, making them think they are safe just to turn around and kill Hallie to mess with Sid mentally and emotionally even more.

  • @davidpuerto1619

Unfortunately the opening scene was spoiled at the time because a version of the script was leaked online and it was reported that a prominent black actress was going to be killed at the beginning of the movie so we all knew that Jada was going to be in the opening kill of this movie. They did have to do some rewrites and reshoots as a result. After that the Scream movies had scipts written with several different endings so that the killer/killers were not spoiled before the movie came out. This was when studios really started to double down on their NDAs in order to combat their movies being spoiled before they premiered.

Here’s the thing…Mickey isn’t Sidney’s friend, he’s Derek’s friend. The only “Friends” Sidney has is Randy and Halle, which is why she’s so emotionally hit by their deaths. It wouldn’t make any sense for her to have been closer to Mickey as he’s not her friend, he’s their friend. Which is why she isn’t emotionally hit when he reveals himself to be the killer. That emotional pathos is saved for the mastermind, who is Mrs. Loomis. The reason that this is a genius reveal and why so many people argue that this is the best of the films Including the first, is because the film sets up so many suspects, but no motives. The one person in the film with the motive to kill Sidney, never once comes into contact with her by design. It’s also the fact that there are so many suspects, that makes the film the most tense, as the area they’re in is in it of itself isolated, and unlike the first one, no one suspect is more obvious than the other. Also, both killers are foils for Sidney and Gale respectively. Mrs. Loomis challenges Gale and pushes her to come to terms with her responsibility in all of the drama. The book, the movie, and even her relationship to both Cotton and Sidney. Mickey, Challenges her perception on trust and does things to make Derek look more suspicious…The guilt and pain of no trusting Derek and and his death is something that they give a nod to in Scream 3, as throughout that Movie, she’s still wearing the necklace he gave her, years later. THE LAYERS. The one thing I would say that is a reason why some people don’t think it’s better than the first, has to a lot to do with how much you can actually miss, that you pick up on repeat watches. For example, Mickey asks the question “Why would anyone go back in that house?” And you all asked if she questioned how he knew that. But the whole reason they were there together in that scene is because they were in the hospital with him and were questioned by police. Also, the reason Sidney goes to the auditorium once she gets back to the campus after Halle is killed, is because the campus is on lockdown, and the only signs of other people being around, is the musical score of the play that she is starring in. I’ve seen so many people react to this film and miss both of those facts.
