You would be surprised to find out that ballad is a pretty big genre within kpop. BTOB is one of the most successful groups in South Korea and their image is "ballad-singing idols". But I understand what you meant. I think that for us, a more international audience, ballads are not as attractive as hyped and choreographed songs because this was one of the main factors for the success of kpop in the world, so that's the impression. And also, in Korea there is a certain division between idols and musicians. Kpop groups are just idols who dance for most of them. IU and BTOB are kpop, but they have gained so much respect in Korea that there they are not considered idols but singers. I just discovered this channel and I loved what you had to add. It's already been 7 months, but I hope you guys still react to more IU. She is an exceptional artist.
Great Reaction! I love IU's MV and IU and TaeTae's acting was excellent. TaeTae was blind in one eye and IU was deaf/mute, but they saw the beauty of each other. They looked normal to each other when they looked at each other through the camera. The evil cube sees them as inferior or imperfect and wants to destroy them. At the end you could see smoke rising so yes I believe the evil cube was burning them because you could see their ashes in camera view while their clothes were being lifted on the pile of clothes. Our handsome and multi-talented TaeTae definitely needs to do another K-drama. If you haven't seen K-drama Hwarang you definitely need to see it. It stars TaeTae, Park Hyung-sik and Park Seo-Joon. You watch it because TaeTae is in it, but end up falling for the whole cast. IU's voice is so angelic and she looked so beautiful in the wedding gown. TaeTae and IU need to do a K-drama together if possible when TaeTae is done with military duty. Be Blessed!
Art is subjective, but in my opinion the cube represents haters/discrimination in society. Discrimination defined as people with disabilities, (blind and deaf) people that want to marry but can't (faceless haters in the wedding hall pointing and chaos), women in leadership (IU's character leads V's character around). The camera represents what life would be like with no hate or discrimination. Without love, society would crumble. IU and V fight for love, love transcends death. Love Wins All in the end. 💜
Love did win all because they loved each other so much they decided to die together. She remained with him so that he didn't die alone trying to protect her. I agree that this should be a kdrama. Even though we know how it ends, it would be nice to see how the characters met, fall in love, and when the invasion happens.
V AMAZING acting out all these emotions of fear happiness sorrow furious, in a 5 minute music video is crazy because we see actors failing to act out a single emotion in an 1 hour long episode but here he is, the versatility is showing 😭They they forgot what they were running from because through the lens of the camera, they were able to just love and enjoy life until the reality caught up to them and they were taken away ICRY 😭😊
Ballads are pretty popular genre in korean music. For example popular dramas also tend to have popular osts which will reflect on the music charts. Its also not that uncommon for a kpop group to have ballad b-sides or sometimes they even promote a ballad together with their title track for their comeback stages. Although i guess its a little less common in the current gen. The confusion for u guys probably stems from you being primarily exposed to upbeat dance kpop which is usually the title track. Also groups like aespa, le sserafim, new jeans, etc are 4th gen so it makes sense that the sound, concept, etc would be different.

There are a lot of K-pop songs that have dark vibes dean 'instagram' bibi 'Animal Farm' mino 'Run away' zior park 'christian' If you want to listen to K-pop songs with a different vibe, I recommend this kind of song
Hi there, like always, thank you so much for your considerate comment. In our opinion, we'd say that while "K-pop" can refer to any popular music from South Korea, it has developed into its own mega-genre/category that usually has certain traits which is what we were referring to❤.
So it turns out that the camcorder’s lens contains a “filter of love” which allows them to see the beauty of the world beyond the character’s internal and external appearances.. they were both so afraid - yet at the same time, both were desperate to save and protect each other. At the end, they accepted their cruel fate and fearlessly faded together.. in a world that doesn’t let them to, they stayed by each other’s side, loving until the very end.
If you like this song, maybe you could take a look at how it was recorded and record your reaction if you can, because your reaction videos are great, thank you Please check IU 'Love wins all' Recording Behind
Hola chicos! 😍
IU is legendary as both a singer and actress; watch the K-drama "Hotel del Luna". This song and music video are a masterpiece. IU was sick when filming this music video; and it was 1 week before V went to the Army. NewJeans was on her show and covered her song 'Celebrity'...it's amazing. IU in return covered NewJean's song 'Hurt'. 🔥🔥🔥
This definitely was really sad! There are some K-Pop MVs that have gunfights, they are still searchable. Most are from 2nd Generation groups, it has been a while since anybody had a gunfight but they are around.
@brian65058 actually they said she is both mute and deaf. It is said in the mv while the cube represent the society who wants to get rid of defects people. IU in that scene imagine herself and V to be perfect couple in a perfect world while watching that camera which they forget the cube is after them.
@@abigailb.8831 The MV director only mentions being mute. Deaf doesn't make sense because she reacts to sounds at the same time Tae does. Like in the very beginning when they get to the pile of clothes, they both look up at the sky at the same time. So she wasn't getting queues from Tae, she heard the cube.
@@ebony7177 That's because they both saw a shadow of cube alien box Up in window sky and hide, And IU was death on MV while V is blind with one eye, but He can see with his other good eye still, and He can hear good to, While IU can see who's not blind but can't hear, She death that's why She doing sign language, So when She saw the shadow cube above them on top window sky they both hide under bar table for a cover to hide from the danger alien cube from taking them, and pow of cloths are from People who taken from the dangerous cube alien.
Such a beautiful and emotional video featuring amazing acting and vocals that makes the experience so personal. I really do hope that Tae & IU do other projects together both film and music as they have great chemistry and when he was on her show their voices also blended so well. Also at the end it was pointed out by someone that he can hear what is coming but she can't, while she can see what is coming but she covers his good eye so he can't. Both cry at the same moment though and from the same left eye. Also the right side of his face seems to have burn scars so maybe he had encountered a cube before but got away at the last minute. This cube was relentless in its pursuit and even seemed to change size so it could come into the building. Earlier when it was flying overhead you could tell no way it could fit inside those hallways. I also noticed the cube waits for them to stop fighting and accept their fate. If you notice there are no other people so obviously no person is able to meet the criteria this cube holds that would allow someone to survive. The camcorder that kept showing a better reality, was giving us the viewer a happier version of the events. They both rise in the air together, their bodies still solid, while the reality is that they have been turned to ash. At the top of the camcorder right before it turns off you see ash particles in the air. I also loved how the clothes landed together on the pile. Again all of this symbolizing that even though they seemingly lost to the cube, it couldn't destroy their love for each other. They stayed together in life and death, so indeed their love did win. I can't get enough of this MV, the acting is Oscar level and combined with the award worthy vocals and lyrics it's both heartbreaking but also heartwarming that at least they went together.
K-pop is ALL popular music in Korea, you are referring to idol music (idol groups). IU is K-pop because her music is very popular, but K-pop can be Korean rock, rap, pop, R&B, and ballads.
All the styles of Korean pop music are not always the elements we often see in idol groups...such as dance music, electronic music, hip-hop..... In fact, it was usual in the past for ballads to be paired with MVs with their own unique plots. The same in western pop music. For example, the famous "Take on me" by the band A-ha in the 1980s.
I'm now listening to love wins all again and as soon as it started I had tears in my eyes it's so emotional qnd that wqt I love also like I said before these two need to act in a kdrama with a similar concept to the mv. Also IU's voice is amazing and she I mý ult fav female idol It's Such a emotional yet awe inspiring message in the lyrics which is love conquers all no matter the ending. Also I cried as soon as the song started qnd get tears in my eyes whenever I watch the mv and hear the song
Thank you for reaction! IU is a K-pop artist, I could be wrong, but it was my understanding that K-pop does not mean pop like America, but what is popular? So it’s all kinds of music.
@valenandtheo I think what this person meant was in reference to your comment about how you've come to expect kpop to sound like. Ballads are another facet of korean popular music
Please react to JYP Entertainment's new and the very first American girl group Vcha's official debut music video Girls of the Year. The members were selected in an audition program A2K(America To Korea).
A Korean reviewer thinks the cube reflects fate or life itself partly because the big emphasis as the song has the key change near the end has the word for "fate" as the first word. I only mention this because of your comment that it would hit differently if you understood Korean. I agree. I'm studying Korean, myself. I think in about a year I'll be able to go to the nearby market and ask if they sell Soju; and say in Korean "oh no, I don't speak Korean", and ask if there's a restaurant nearby that makes black bean noodles. I'm getting there. I loved this video. I can't stop watching it.
i love this song & Love poem. You should look up Love Poem. There is also a cover done of Love Poem that is song by members from Ateez, Stray Kids, & BtoB. That one is amazing.
Yes they did win over the cube. Love isn't a physical thing, as IU states it is invisible. Love can destroy anything it can only create . So when you say love lost to the cube you are failing to understand what love is. The cubes represent a generalized evil and hate. Evil and hate can only destroy the physical and cause people to turn against Love. Hate consumes and needs a never ending source of hate to consume. Love only loses to hate when those who are struggling to love abandoned it and give in to hate. Hate doesn't consume love It can't, it can only destroy the physical parts, but Love lives on. So these to remained in love they did surrender to hate they surrendered to love. Kpop is not a specific genre. It covers many different types of music. IU debuted at 15. She has twice as many #1 hits, over 32 in 15 years, than any other group or artist in Korea. With the release of this song IU ties BTS with the most songs to debut at #1. And she is the only Korean female (including groups) to ever debut at number 1. In sept of 2022 she became the 1st female korean singer to headline a concert at the Olympic stadium in Seoul. The 90,000 tickets sold out in 30 minutes with just under 500,000 people waiting in the que online. She was the first female kpop artist to perform in the round at the Olympic Gymnastics arena in 2019. She has the 2 fast MV to reach 10 million views on RUclips Love Wins All and Eight in 2020. She is also the wealthiest kpop artist and 4th wealthiest korean celebrity. And see is an outstanding actress. In fact I was first introduced to IU as an actress in the kdrama My Mister, which is still a top rate kdrama and of course Hotel Del Luna. Her leading female role in the 2022 movie Broker, received a 12 minute standing ovation, the longest for any Korean movie and she was nominated for Best Actress. Her songs have bee on the charts in Korea for over 700 weeks more than twice as long as the next closest artist or group. In January of 2023 Rolling Stone Magazine added IU to their list of the 200 Greatest singers of All Time becoming the 1st Korean singer to make the list. While there are many very good singers in Korea (unbelievably so) when all things are considered (vocal talent, range, songwriting, composing, producing, stage presence, the lengths she ho for her fans) no one touches. As Suga said when IU was on his show last month " you can't talk about kpop without talking about IU. In 2014 the New York Times said of IU "that she is showing the way forward for kpop." And then in 2018 in an article on Music's influence on culture the Times created a list of the 25 most influential artist and IU was list 9th. I mentioned earlier the lengths IU goes for her fans. IU is known for her encores which can last 2 hours. She explained to Suga on his show when he asked about her crazy long encores. She said it start during one of her concerts (I think it was her 10th anniversary concert) where she didn't feel that she had given her audience the value for the money the paid. After her 1st normal encore when the fans were sticking around watching a video intended for the crew and staff when it was over went out and sang for another 2 hours. From there it became part of her concert culture. No one else does this, no one. And she is remember carrying the entire show on her shoulders. She can't take a song off it all her the entire time. Here are 3 links from her channel so they will not get blocked if you decide to react to them. Maybe the "kpop" you are referring to is what Koreans call "idol music" - meaning the highly choreographed, big budget. IU is kpop in the literal sense that she is Korean popular music.
Korea has variuos genere of music likes other countries. AKA K-pop is just one of them. Several limitation(language, race, culture, etc.) leads misunderstanding to other people that K-pop is dominate by IDOL(or Dance music) music. (poor at english sorry.)
Startling video and an absolutely beautiful song. It brought tears to my eyes too, no shame there. I love IU, her voice is so pure. If you want a little more darkness Theo, the BU (BTS Universe) story line is amazing. There are books, games, and hints throughout a huge number of their videos of this lore. It starts with the MV for "I Need You" that you can see here: ruclips.net/video/jjskoRh8GTE/видео.htmlsi=qjqKgPgmEYtwJWI3 Thanks for checking out this song. It is so touching. I also thought this has to be part of a sound track for a KDrama too. At least I hope it is. Fun Fact. The director of this MV is the director of Concrete Utopia, Um Tae-hwa. I have not watched it but will now. V is a great actor. "Hwarang" was the tv series he was in and he did a great job on a first time acting gig. He has a group of friends he developed from that show that are incredibly close and really seem more like family at this point. we don't know how her tt would sound like but she'll be having a comeback this 20 feb
There are a lot of K-pop songs that have dark vibes
dean 'instagram'
bibi 'Animal Farm'
mino 'Run away'
zior park 'christian'
If you want to listen to K-pop songs with a different vibe, I recommend this kind of song
Hi dears. 68yo Army here. Kpop is not a genre of music. Kpop is the name of the industry.
Hi there, like always, thank you so much for your considerate comment.
In our opinion, we'd say that while "K-pop" can refer to any popular music from South Korea, it has developed into its own mega-genre/category that usually has certain traits which is what we were referring to❤.
@@valenandtheo
Do you mean up beat music with a lot of dancing and auto tuning?
@@valenandtheo Ok. I can see that.
If you like this song, maybe you could take a look at how it was recorded and record your reaction if you can, because your reaction videos are great, thank you

IU is deaf and V is one eye blind. The cube represents society.
I think IU is mute cause in their imaginary, V got his eyes fine and IU singing along V so I think she is mute
@ebony7177 Well I saw it somewhere but anyway I saw in google IU want to have a world tour with V in it😍😍😍
@@ebony7177
That's because they both saw a shadow of cube alien box Up in window sky and hide,
And IU was death on MV while V is
blind with one eye, but He can see with his other good eye still, and He can hear good to, While IU can see who's not blind but can't hear, She death that's why She doing sign language, So when She saw the shadow cube above them on top window sky they both hide under bar table for a cover to hide from the danger alien cube from taking them, and pow of cloths are from People who taken from the dangerous cube alien.
Not hate in the wold... more love BORAHE💜💜💜💜
Beautifully said 🤗
K-pop is ALL popular music in Korea, you are referring to idol music (idol groups). IU is K-pop because her music is very popular, but K-pop can be Korean rock, rap, pop, R&B, and ballads.
Besides being South Korea's top soloist, IU is an outstanding actor, as she's proven in multiple TV dramas and movies.
Her selfless act of love, covering his good. But they went together.
What a MV !! What a track !!
Also IU's voice is amazing and she I mý ult fav female idol
It's Such a emotional yet awe inspiring message in the lyrics which is love conquers all no matter the ending.
Also I cried as soon as the song started qnd get tears in my eyes whenever I watch the mv and hear the song
Taehyung and IU acting was litteraly❤
To understand the significance of the clothes pyramid, watch the MV for BTS's Spring Day.
Only iu can portray emotion in a song
React to iu killing voice
IU is phenomenal
IU is a '93, just like Suga. So she's a noona to Tae 🙂, since Tae is a '95.
ballad music videos from 2000's used to be all movie quality and super sad and depressing
Thank you for reaction! IU is a K-pop artist, I could be wrong, but it was my understanding that K-pop does not mean pop like America, but what is popular? So it’s all kinds of music.
Of course, IU is k-pop haha, we did not say she isn't.
@valenandtheo I think what this person meant was in reference to your comment about how you've come to expect kpop to sound like. Ballads are another facet of korean popular music
I CRIED AGAIN-
IU is considered Korea's sweetheart

Wow, that's actually a very beautiful and relatable interpretation.
The cube representing inevitable death makes perfect sense.
Love actually did win - they stayed together until the end.
YOU DONT KNOW IU? SHE IS THE QUEEN OF KPOP.
Maybe a new K-Pop fans

I need to see ur reaction on the recording vid by iu on her channel iu tv. It's so sad to watch🥹

Can you react more to IU? "Blueming" , "Celebrity" and "Bbibbi" tqqq
its not MNET its EDAM official also IU is a Solo Idol since 15 years old She debutted from 2008, you should listen to her songs start from her debut song "Lost Child"
Maybe the "kpop" you are referring to is what Koreans call "idol music" - meaning the highly choreographed, big budget. IU is kpop in the literal sense that she is Korean popular music.
She's 5 years older than BTS
More IU please
Korea has variuos genere of music likes other countries. AKA K-pop is just one of them.
Several limitation(language, race, culture, etc.) leads misunderstanding to other people that K-pop is dominate by IDOL(or Dance music) music. (poor at english sorry.)

You don't know IU from People Pt. 2 (Agust D/D-Day)? 😒

IU is deaf and Taehyung is blind in one eye.
There is a behind the scenes of this video shoot that is worth checking out too. ruclips.net/video/bSxoDXrk2X4/видео.htmlsi=c8XXXN9eAz-Vw_LE I think that is the link.
I so enjoy your reactions and seeing the two of you communicate with each other. Thanks for letting us in.
Never seen something dark in Kpop? So you're not familiar with the BU (Bangtan Universe) 😅 sweet summer child

IU is dating someone as well. Jungkook respects IU idk if she's still his crush i doubt it now tho.
Superflous comment lol

The mountain of clothes remind so many of spring day from bts.
she is not younger she is she is older than him and it was JK SAID IU WAS HIS CRUSH. NOT V
That's also what Valen said
