There was a big motorcycle event called the Honda Hoot in Asheville years ago. I fell in love with the place after the first visit, sorry about all the lives that got messed up by this horrible event.
@@AVLdrone You gave us a really 'real' video. Not easy to see but important for ALL PEOPLE to witness through the cameras lense. I live in California and have given to many in your area. Hang tough everyone is pulling for you.
North of Asheville...one common phrase i have said myself....but i hear it over and over... " this is crazy.....this is unreal". It really is that bad.
Interesting video. I have seen at least 100 videos since the first day Helene hit. I feel so bad for all the people it has affected physically, mentally and financially. Then when I had heard that insurance companies are trying to get out of paying for what people have been paying for; that really pissed me off. These insurance companies should refund every payment that the people have paid out all these years. The insurance companies enjoyed all the money that came in and now act like a dog by rolling over and pissing in the air. Just glad nobody has filed a complaint about you trespassing on & in properties.
We have no looting here. Our blackbears are protecting their garage can routes. Active 24/7. They can open any not lock door. They have learn to turn on water tote faucets to get clean water to drink. Put out containers to get rainwater for wild critters to drink.
I truly wish these videos would give the streets & cross streets, so we know what we are looking at. I know Asheville & all of these videos are looking the same.
80% of the damage we suffered was from the extremely heavy water that this storm brought to us. I have heard up to 36 inches, in certain areas, at higher elevations fell, due to the convection of moisture that the mountains caused. All that water run off ended up in the Swannanoa, Mills and French Broad Rivers in our area. All the creeks in the area, Garren Creek, Cane Creek and others turned into rivers and swepped away homes, vehicles and farm animals. The heavy winds were destructive more at the higher elevations. It worked with the heavy water flow to cause many land slides and these slides are what caused many of the roads locally to become non-passable. The land slides also destroyed many homes and businesses as well. It was a combination of the wind and rain.
Bears back track and if he wanted u , he would of had you mins ago., he has so much food laying around in those building, he really dont want you at this time., but it could changed,,, them bears down in there are very mean., also in Cherokee nc. I scene a place where it. Was government contro; of bears ina deep concrete hole pit so people could observed them., they had no place to go except in a 20 by 20 square pit approx 20 ft height., so i know them bears are not dead, no way could they come out of them holes unless the were washed out by water, which i do hope that was the case instead of them not getting killed, nature person plus i do have respect for their survival; but hope they dont eat humans
As a long time local, I can tell others , You just took a very long walk. Thank you for the documentation, it is still hard to believe.
Thank you for watching. Yea, it was a long walk for sure

Thanks for taking time to do this video. I grew up in the area. Was hard to recognize anything, totally destroyed!
When liquid water became a solid mass. Distruction followed. Incredible. TY.
Incredible indeed. Thank you for watching

Bears and wildlife in general are a part of Asheville and I am glad to see it has not changed after Helene.
Worse than a tornado
I've never been through tornados but this was the worst hurricane I have ever been through
Have yall found anymore of the 55 gallon drums from Oak Ridge?.. 2- 53 ft. trailers full washed down river
I have not. I'll let you know if I do. Thanks for watching
OK what was name on the side of the trailer
God help these people. So sad
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I wonder how much wildlife was murdered in this hurricane/flood.
Trains are not running. Major washout along the track route.

@@thememorytraveler4978 no problem, thanks for watching
I know you mean no harm, but please don’t trespass on private property. It is particularly wrong to enter buildings.
Thanks for the heads up, Kathy. I appreciate you watching
Commiserations to everyone affected. Is all the damage from the water or is some from the high winds?

Mostly what I showed in this video was from flood waters. High winds did snap alot of trees up in the mountains. Whole forests gone

Did that building you took a picture of have a train car running through it??
I believe the trolly/bus was garaged in that building and the building collapsed around it. Not positive though.
Show us the trains if you can.
A few were shown in this video. I have other drone videos of the trains as well I have already posted. Thank you for watching!
@@AVLdrone ok i will go back and look for them
@@wolfpacva in this particular video at 13 minutes and 3 seconds you will see a few trains
