So nice of you to knit a cardigan for your friend’s mom.
It was great spending time with you today while I was weaving in a gazillion ends. Thanks for another enjoyable episode and I look forward to the next.
Thank you for sharing Flock with me. And all the fun things you did before and after. I especially liked your story about Donnie Osmand. I was a huge fan many, many years ago. I remember watching the Osmond brothers on the Andy William's show and then watching Donnie and Marie. Your story brought back great memories!
Hi Linda… Donny talked a lot about Andy Williams and their long-standing friendship. If you ever get the chance to see the show… I highly recommend🤗
Thanks so much, Linda, for YOU!! I’m looking forward to g forward to seeing your sister again AND your Mom! Can’t wait! About your silk fiber purchase: I love it-it matches your hair-and I want you to get on that spinning so we can see how it spins up! Thanks so much for all your sharing! Hugs, Angela
Hi Angela.. hope you and family are enjoying a great summer… sorry to be missing Shenandoah this year but sooo happy my sister will be here for a visit. A worthy trade off- lol. Happy Crafting 🤗
This was a great fun video! Loved you taking us to Flock with you and your friends. Great purchases!! Your finished wips are wonderful. Looking forward to the family video.
Thank you so much Joan- happy crafting.🤗
Danish Musings is wonderful!
Thanks Linda, I enjoyed your review of Flock and all the yarny goodness.
Glad you enjoyed Lynda- have a great weekend🤗
What a wonderful trip! Thanks for sharing!! Way to go with the WIPs! Nice finishes!!
Thanks Evelyn… are you still enjoying clamping🤗?
@@forthefunofknit5322 Oh yes. Trying decide now where our annual fall trip will take us to celebrate our birthdays!!
@@EvieO1950 the adventure continues!!! And happy pre- birthdays🤗
You and your friends look like you could be sisters!!
Hi Linda. I just recently found your channel and have watched several episodes. I love your knits, and enjoy watching. My husband and I went to Seattle on vacation about 8 years ago and just loved it too. It is a beautiful city, and Chihuly was one of the highlights of our trip too. Just exquisite artwork. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you for watching Cheryl! Definitely a lively city with lots to do. Have a great crafting g weekend!🤗
IM SO JEALOUS YOU SAW DONNY OSMOND!!!! 💜💜💜
Too funny Pam… he has a huge fan base that seems ageless- a great entertainer- I get your enthusiasm🤗
I Have a group of 6 that started with zoom in March of. 2020 when Covid kept us home and we are still meeting every week. We meet in person at other times, but zoom got us through the pandemic.
FLock looked to be a lot of fun. Great vlog!
Thank you Gwendolyn… glad you enjoyed🤗
Thank you Linda for keeping me company as I sat and forced myself to work on my sleeves of my Treysta! I want to finish my WIPS too and then it’ll be A FALL FREE FOR ALL with the cast ons over here! Loved the Flock footage and overview. Absolutely fabulous acquisitions and memories for you to treasure. Look forward to seeing you next month with your mom & sister 😊 👋🏼
Thanks Leanne… I have decided when I knit a sweater I am going to knit 2 to 3 inches of the body then I am switching to the sleeves… get them done then there is no sleeve island - lol. Looking forward to hearing ( watching) all about Knit City Calgary- the IG posts looked really fun. Your sweater is beautiful and you’ll finish before you know it🤗 Big Hug- Linda
@@forthefunofknit5322 Sadly i was a bad podcaster and didn’t gather any proper footage other than a bunch of selfies with new and old friends!
@@theknittystew no such thing as a bad podcaster… if they are knitters😂😂😂… hopefully ou will talk a wee bit about the event(?)… pics not required.. just you and your lovely projects❤️
I love this episode. And you're wearing such a beautiful sweater! 💜all the best from Munich! :-)
Thank you! 😊it’s the Deschaine in Euroflax Linen.
Love the poncho in your pictures! Give the sweater a light steaming and it will relax the acrylic - works for me. Wish I had a group of knitting friends to go with me to Flock - maybe next year 😢
Thank you… if you decide to go let me know and we can meet up for a knit!🤗
OM goodness, so sorry about the saga of knitting your friend’s mom’s cardigan re the colour difference and reknitting due to length issues. That said, your friend’s mother will love her cardigan and won’t notice the colour or 1” difference! Enjoyed going on the Flock Field Trip with you! Have fun knitting WIPs for the rest of August and thanks for another enjoyable episode!
Thank you for watching Karen🤗. I am going to try steam blocking???… with my iron- yikes… wish me luck- lol
Great podcast, II LOVE YOUR PONYTAIL, very chic! I was so interested in your videos of Flocks and hope to see you and your friends there next year 🧶❤️
Thank you Linda!… Barbara Eden just turned 93 so it was in her honour- lol…. She looks amazing. Happy knitting🤗
Loved hearing about your flock experience and tips on where to stay/what to do! I am also a not a monogamous knitter and so pleased when I hear others echo the same thing!!
Yay!! Glad you enjoyed. And happy to know I am not alone- lol. FYI: Darlene ( if you remember from Chicago wearing her blue Kevat) is part of my knitting group🤗
Darlene’s is stunning too! I had forgotten she was close to you. She is such a sweetie and loved spending time with her.
I caught your video late last night while I am working my way through "Doodles" I am using the same weight as you did and i think it will be perfect for this change in our weather. We are having weather similar to you, here in Penticton, rain and wind today! I also watched a previous episode that you told us about all the things you have knit and how many you actually wear. It is great to know that not all projects spark joy for you after they are done. Scarves and shawls being the exception. Enjoy your week.
Hi Paige… wow- you are almost local!… if you are ever in White Rock area and want to join us for a knit - just DM me on Instagram . Would love to meet up. Happy Crafting🤗
Gosh, this was such a fun video, Linda, as usual. It was so much fun seeing the Flock Fiber Show. I loved your group’s sweaters…so pretty seeing the different colors. I loved sitting here working on my current project (the Lightweight Raglan Pullover by Purl Soho) while watching all the purchases you made, the video of the area around the Flock Fiber show….well, just everything was delightful! I’m looking forward to your next video with your sister, so until then enjoy the rest of August, I’ll see you soon. Hugs 🤗💕🙋 Sue
Hi Sue- so glad you enjoyed… the Lightweight Raglan looks like a great pattern- love to know your thoughts on it. What yarn are you using?. Happy Crafting🤗
@@forthefunofknit5322 Good afternoon, Linda….This is my second Lightweight Raglan Pullover by Purl Soho. I made the first one in Linen Quill, color Cobalt Blue (which the pattern called for and was in my yarn stash)…the swatch was spot on and the sweater turned out to be a perfect fit for me. I had more of the Linen Quill in Heirloom White, so I figured I would make it again and use some of my stash yarn with the knowledge it would turn out very nice. I sure enjoyed seeing you working on your WIP’s…👏. I am a monogamous knitter…not because I want to be, but because once I get started on a project, I can’t stop, even though I have a list of knitting projects I want to start next. There are so many beautiful things out there to make, for sure. Happy Knitting…🤗💕🙋 Sue
@@Fuj109 thank you! I have a small stash of linen quill… add in to the queue!!🤗
Hi Linda, on the sweater, if you pin it out dry and gently steam both the arms and the body to the length that you want, it will then keep it's shape. Remember it's plastic so gently steam otherwise you will melt it. Sort of like felting it but the acrylic version. Good luck. 👍
Thanks for the tip!🤗
My sister and wool sister met you at flock. It was so nice to meet you this time at flock. We all went home and bought the yarn for the shawl you did. Look forward to next time. ❤
Good Morning Lolly 🤗 it was lovely to meet you ladies as well.. maybe next year we can sit and knit for a bit🥰
What a fun episode. Now I wish it is already November, when we go to Barcelona Knits.😂🥰
Me too!!! Wish I had time to knit a BKF sweater!.., if you were going to g to knit something just for BKF do you have a pattern in mind???
@@forthefunofknit5322 I would love to knit a BFK sweater, still thinking about a pattern and if I can make it in time (I am also going to do a testknit in the coming 6 weeks🤣). If I am going to knit a BFK sweater and have a pattern in mind, I will let you know💕
@@ingridterbeek may be our Stephen West MKAL shawls?
I'm with you about casting on what strikes my fancy 😄😄😄 and I was berating myself for that. Not any more!
Yay!!!!! Bring on the new cast ons !!!🤪🤗
Thank you for sharing your Flock Fibre adventures. Take Care!
Thanks for sharing your adventures at Flock. I love your basket in the background. Happy crafting.
Thanks Wendy🤗
I wouldn’t have seen the difference in blues unless you flagged them. Once the buttons are on they will also distract from a difference in shade. It was very kind of you to knit for a friend. Sweaters are better short for seniors as they are sitting more and don’t want to sit on the sweater. 😊
Thank you. For watching Jan… I will be hunting for buttons this week and I think you are right.., the colour shift is not THAT noticeable- lol. Appreciate the encouragement. Happy Crafting🤗
Hi Linda,
Thanks for sharing Flocks with us.
What is the gorgeous sweater you are wearing?!!
Good Morning! Deschain by Leila Raven🤗
@forthefunofknit5322 thanks...it looks beautiful on you.
Hi Linda!! You are absolutely the best!! Thanks for the shoutout on the pod ~ it was so so fun to see you at Flock!! Look forward to future knitting adventures with you! Can you say Rhinebeck 2025?!!! ❤🧶❤🧶❤
🤞🤞🤞🙏🤞🤞🤞🙏
You are so inspiring. Thank you for all the "yarn goodness" ❤ Such a lovely group of friends and so happy for you and having a fun trip!
Thank you Cindy- definitely grateful for my friends and our shared passion for all things fibre. So glad you enjoyed the podcast. Happy Knitting🤗
As always an hour of delightful news! You are definitely just like a friend catching up on news, so natural and honest about everything. How wonderful to have your knitting peeps for a weekly get together and annual trip to knitting festival.
Thank you Heather… you are also a knitting g peep.. we just haven’t met in person … Yet! Have an awesome day🤗
It was fun reliving our Flock weekend through your podcast, Linda! Can't wait to go back and I'm so glad I bit the bullet and ordered that beautiful Flock mug finally! I had serious fomo not getting it! I think your purchases were very well thought out and you didn't go wildly crazy as it's so easy to do just that. Your cowl will be so pretty! See you Monday, Gorgeous! ♥🧶☕
🤗❤️❤️❤️
It was a pleasure to meet you! Too bad we didn’t get a picture of the 5 of us wearing our Kevat’s! Flock was amazing. It was my first time. Definitely will go again! Claudette
A pleasure to meet you too… next year for sure!… so…. Big haul?, Medium or restrained?…Me.. medium as per my definition of Medium- lol🤗
@@forthefunofknit5322 Medium haul I would say. I don’t have a big stash like most of my knitting friends!
@@cellogal-75 are you on Instagram or Ravelry? Would love to follow if that’s okay with you- NO worries if you prefer not🤗
Thankyou Linda for sharing your Flock Fibre adventure, it was amazing. Looking forward to your next podcast and seeing your Mom and Sister again 🧶
Great episode! and thank you for sharing Flock, I was so sad that I didn't get to make the trip to Seattle.
Hi Diana…. Next Year dates have been announced… so maybe next year?!August 8-10th👏👏👏
Love your projects. Just wanted to add that the only way, as far as I know, to get the acrylic sweater to change size is with steam blocking◡̈
Thank you Linda!… Will give it a try🤗
Thank you Linda… Will give it a try🤗
So very fun to catch your video! Such a fun one and Thank you, for the share!! The Senior Recipient gift , could it be over dyed? 😅 Great job with it!!
Thanks for watching Lydia.. not sure about overdying acrylic… but am interesting idea🤗
I really enjoyed that Linda. I fired you up to help me get through a big pile of ironing. I have a trip to Boston from London next week to see my son. Yay. Usually with podcasts they don't work well with the racket of the steam iron ...plus stopping to add to the ravelry queue. Thus was perfect. Chatty and a visual treat. Thank you ❤
Yay!!! Hopeful it made the chore go faster- lol. And I hear you about the Ravelry queue…. It keeps growing!!!🤗
I live in a state that borders Canada, and I check many of our northern neighbors into the motel. They talk about the exchange rate, and so-as of today (Aug 27) The Canadian dollar is worth $.74 to the American $1.00.
I Know!!!!… very tough for Canadians but great for our US cousins🤗!
Loved this episode. I am a Seattleite and always love to hear other people's view on what it's like when they visit Seattle. I didn't get a chance to go to Flock this year, so I loved your recap of it! Definitely a great way to spend time knitting on this rainy day in Seattle!
Glad you enjoyed it!. 🤗Can’t wait to come back
Another fantastic podcast!! Thanks for sharing all the yarny goodness from FLOCK
Thank you for sharing flock with us! I love the Flock Fibre Fest bag. I was going to order one but found that the shipping to Canada was too pricey for me.
Hi If you want to order it and have it Delivered to Blaine Enterprises under my name I could pick it up for you and mail it to you from Vancouver???… that said I leave mid September so depends on when they will be shipping them… just a thought🤗
@@forthefunofknit5322Linda that is so very sweet of you. I am going to pass, mostly since we don’t know when they will ship, however, I truly appreciate the offer.
Great episode, your friends and you looked fantastic in their knits. Happy knitting 🧶💕
Thank you! You too!🤗
One day will get to Seattle. My nephew lives there - from Australia. He is an ex engineer with Boeing and now a Commercial lawyer with Boeing. I have knitted it the top you were wearing is lovely.
Hi Judith- Australia to Seattle is a bit of a trek but maybe one day(?). I love the Deschaine… a great linen knit🤗
Dear Linda. It really sounds like your flock trip was fantastic and so beautiful purchase’s you made, can’t wait to see what you make of it. The sweater you’re wearing is so beautiful😍 which pattern is that?
Once again I enjoyed your podcast and I’m already looking forward to the next one. Best regards from Denmark, Charlotte 😊
Hi Charlotte- I was wearing an old FO… the Deschaine. I made it with sport weight linen held double…. Great pattern… if I made it again I would just do single strand sport weight and add about 2-3 inches to the length… a great summer knit🤗
Loved your podcast. I was at Flock with my adult daughter & we both loved it. I’m sorry I didn’t see you there as I so enjoy your podcasts.
Thank you for watching Penny- Next Year! Hope to see you there and so glad you are enjoying my knitting adventures and misadventures- lol.🤗
I enjoyed hearing about your Flock experience! Makes me want to go next year! 🐑
Would love to see you there next Year🤗
I just found your podcast. Love it! Have you and your knitting group heard of the knitting retreat in Ucluelet in November? I just signed up for it. You should go!
Hi Lisa… have NOT heard about this retreat will look it up and share with my peeps. I am away in November but always good to know about local retreats. Have a fab time!!🤗
❤ the Deschain that you are wearing..what yarn did you use and what size..it's next on my needles..always look forward to your podcasts..Thx
Thank you for watching Nancy,.. EuroFlax Sport held double🤗
Hello Linda! Greetings from Bavaria, Germany! This is my first time watching your podcast and I would like to compliment you on your fantastic make-up, and on your beautiful Deschain!!! Forgive me if you have answered or mentioned it before, but did you use the original yarn for it or did you find a substitute yarn? I have been looking for a substitute for a while now, because the shipping and customs from the USA are expensive😮.
I loved your flog about the trip to Seattle, isn't it just so much fun going to a yarn show? ❤ Best wishes from overseas!😊
Good afternoon Karin- so glad you enjoyed the episode👏👏. I used a sport weight linen ( Euroflax ) held double. If I were to make it again I would probably knit one extra repeat or knit at least two inches longer in the front and 3 inches longer in the back. For some reason the back is a bit shorter…. Just the way the sweater fits on my body. I love going to yarn festivals… any chance you are going to Barcelona Knits??? If yes…. See you there!!🤗
August 8-10, 2025
Next year's Flock
Thank you- looking forward to it already!!!
@@forthefunofknit5322 Me too. This year was amazing.
What are you wearing?
Hi Carole - Deschain by Leila Raven🤗
I'm just curious and please don't start hurling insults, but why are people STILL wearing masks? In summer? In 2024? It's over folks.
It was a requirement for the 1st 2 hours only. That gave folks that are vulnerable to any type of flu to attend with a little less stress. No one seemed to mind… everyone was drunk on Yarn fumes😂😂😂
Actually, the Covid cases are surging, according to my daughter who works in the emergency room at a hospital in northern Colorado 😦
It so isn’t. Cases are higher than was ever considered a safe level and though the initial deadliness may be over, for most people, it’s still permanently incapacitating a lot of people. Still a life changing virus that spreads far more easily than any other we’ve been used to.
