    Thank you so much for making this video! I’m getting started with acrylics and had no idea if I should get one of those big sets of paint tubes, or which colors to buy first. Your video was really helpful. 😄

    I used to use masking tape but sometimes it would shred or leave glue behind when I removed it. I found insulating tape fixed that problem. Also I wrap my finished paintings in big envelopes folded out of baking paper. Then they don't stick to each other in storage.

    Instead of the 1/2 inch flat brush, I would recommend it be an angle brush as it’s easier to handle corners with an angle brush than a flat brush

    Is gesso needed for acrylics ?

    • @khryskayne664

      Newbie here so I can’t say if it’s “needed” but I can say I’ve started applying gesso on blank canvasses and priming afterwards. It’s made a very noticeable difference with how the paint sticks/looks on the canvas as well as the finished product 🙂

    how about dollarstore paints?

    • @Wingedcanvas
      @Wingedcanvas  3 месяца назад +1

      Definitely a nice budget solution for new artists and especially if you're just playing around and trying something new out. I'm not sure of their validity if you were going to be selling a painting commission, though. It would depend on the brand, I guess.
      However, Fei recommends finding primary colours and mixing your own secondary and tertiary colours, as opposed to sets that contain a huge assortment of colours. This is a great way to begin mastery of colour theory.
