What do you think of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024? Did you have problems at launch? Are you new to the game? Let me know by leaving a Comment RIGHT NOW! :)
What do we think of this Game,.....Do you prefer to go picking flowers and mincing through the woods with Bambi rather than enjoying high definition textures and a stable platform? You don't,.........Oh well,.......... it's back to Flightsim 2020 then.
On the day of launch, I could not play. I just left my PC on, got up early the next morning to find I was in. From that day, I have had no issues playing. There are bugs which is the same for most games these days given the size and the amount of mechanics involved. Personally, I am not disappointed and really like that fact that the game is smoother than FS2020 for me, especially around denser areas like London, Tokyo and New York. Very impressive.
msfs 2020 is the superior game at this time. So many things are still broken, it has a horrible UI and career mode is broken. It'll take months until it's at the level of 2020.
I needed to make room and deleted msfs 2020. I never had issue with damn near every version of msfs upon launch. This was extremely disappointing. I'm on an Xbox.
Maybe it's just me but I swear the announcement of 2024 came out of nowhere and arrived so soon, it was almost destined to fail. It was like "ahh well, we wanna add more to 2020, but we can't so we're doing a new one and it'll be out in 10/11 months". I was surprised and excited but in hindsight there wasn't much to get excited about.. I also will stick to 2020.
I'm now beginning to really enjoy free flight, especially since I realised I had pre set time on and not real time, I wondered why it was sunny all the time 😂
I really want this game to succeed, but after all the issues I had in the first week, I uninstalled and got a refund. I never got to see the amazing visuals and so many other bugs were and still are apparent that I'll monitor the situation and possibly come back to it when it becomes more stable. In the meantime, 2020 is working quite well, even if there are still some things that were never properly addressed in that too.
They should have done more testing. Most of the add-ons don't work and it crashes every time you make too many changes in the settings. Not stable but a good start. They definitely should do something about the colors, not too realistic.
@LCTRgames I don't understand the need to rush the release. Most people were happy with 2020. I feel bad for the development team because they have to be going through some tremendous stress for no good reason other than someone over committed the team.
@@melendjam I wonder if the move to streaming setup took longer than they imagined, maybe with more bugs too. I guess for their perspective they know the world data is too large to be stored on ppl's drives now so making that jump had to happen at some point?
I downloaded the MSFS 2024 in 11.5 mins on the very first day with my XBOX S. A lot of bugs of course, but was expected. I use Verizon FIOS and have a steady 450 mbps. My load up time for the game itself is a steady 2 minutes. Scenery on mine is fantastic in some places and horrible in other locations. No stutters, very little terrain popping. All my planes and scenery were brought over by Microsoft, but only a few planes work properlyand the add on scenery has been disabled. Hoping that gets resolved. All in all, its going better than most I see on youtube and forums. Time will tell.
We need a content provider that states at the beginning, what you are seeing was made with this type X of computer - And is raw - no add-ons. I returned my copy of 2024 and will wait at least 6 months, because Asobo/Microsoft is famous for launching a product that is not ready to launch - And that is exactly what I found when I tested 2024. It took Asobo/Microsoft 4 years to try to get 2020 right, and it still needs work. 2024 ultimately should be an add-on for 2020. Enjoy you content and have subscribed. Respect. You sound like Liam.
Free flight is OKAY - In Career i had an S rating then had two bugs, game crashed and i ruined a plane. need to pay like 200k to fix it at 5000 a mission going to come back to career when they fix it. lol Free flight is good, however the exterior lights are hit and miss. just dont light thins up
Bugs galore since I've been playing, but only minor, but this aside, I'm having massive fun just in free flight and discovery and learning, Flying the Hercules over over Calais in real time weather and actually landing it on a small airstrip is a feeling like no other. I'll hold off on career until I'm more familiar and the bugs are ironed out a bit. I can't get the rain to work. I can hear it on the canopy but I can't see it. I turn it up to max and also the lightning and I see nothing. Nothing like the startup demo where you see rain on the side of the helicopter My 30mbs internet drastically needs upgrading when I'm in cities. I'm getting fibre 150 is 2 weeks and can't wait
I have a 13900KF with a 4080, and the game runs pretty good at all Ultra settings, but the frame rates are a bit lower than they were with 2020, but I was able to get 2020 to run very smootly, with only the very very ocassional stutter, but I do get a few more stutters in 2024. In 2020, these stutters used to happen almost exclusively when I was low and fast in dense metro areas, and in 2024, they happen pretty much in any flight condition. They don't happen constantly, but they do happen somewhat often. I sometimes think it is due to streming latency. I have at least 200mbps on the network, and typically 300, and I do think that some of the latency is becuse of the Mesh network I am using, but I am too far away from the router to hard wire. Maybe one day I will run a cable on the floor to see if the home Mesh network is the issue.
I found that if I used the NVidia filters I could make the graphics in FS2020 look just as good as FS2024. So as all I do is fly my trusty Beech Baron around the Scottish islands delivering their mail in all weather conditions, or a blast into the stratosphere in my Hawker Hunter F6 I have no need to get FS2024. I will remain a very happy little FS2020 pilot for the foreseeable future. 😊
It will be two or more years before my internet connection will be good enough to run 2024. Right now it runs around 750kbs per hour or day, you never know.
I was honestly pretty disappointed about the building loading distance with streaming once I started at a small airport by NYC in New Jersey (about 26 miles away), and when looking over to Manhattan the only building that would load was the Empire State Building. For all you could tell it was just a random beam in the middle of nowhere, and I can imagine this problem exists for many other cities with skylines. I didn't even bother playing first day once I heard of the loading issues, but once I started around a week after I never had any loading issues myself. From startup to a career mission it takes just under 3 minutes, sim is fairly entertaining and nothing too game breaking (other than the broken flaps max speed restrictions and ATC problems). The game is playable and enjoyable, but I still think theres a lot of work to be done to make the game truly immersive.
Taking it very slow, enjoying it in free flight with OnAir Manager to continue with my OA Career and one or two of the in game career mode missions at a time. Waiting for more patches and time for things to get better, everything needs work from MS to every developer and individual planes and addons. Its going to be a long road.
Am still having issues on series s loads up so far then kicks me out can’t get into lvrs a321 tried everything I have gave up for now will stick with 2020 till January I think hopefully they sorted a lot of the issues
I must admit that I was very disappointed (and angry) when I first put my hand on the sim. I found it sluggish, textures were mostly blurry, some planes didn't work. But now I like it. With some time lot's of issues were fixed, and even if lot's of thing are still clunky, I like the sim.
Relying on Microsoft servers in order to play each and very time for some reason makes me edgy. Why they didn’t make it optional to have it downloadable is beyond reason. And here we are.
Think they said in the stream today that some packages should be downloadable in the future (if I followed what they said correctly). So maybe some parts like aircraft can be stored locally and then use rolling cache for most of the rest? idk, we'll see
I'm running on a high end PC. I can't make it past the First Flight mission without getting the unexpected error crash. I can play anything else, except the career. Anybody have a fix for this?
@LCTRgames that gives me an idea at least. I chose Detroit Michigan as my home airport, but my plane is currently in Europe. I'm not sure why that is. Maybe if I take a mission in the States it'll bring my plane back there too.
Slowly figuring some things out. The new controller menu is a bit complicated with a lengthy learning curve. I fly in VR and many many things do not work, such as the in-game menus, mouse is constantly sticking and slow. There are literally dozens and dozens of bugs, including some horrific scenery. New York City is atrocious, the buildings the coastline the airports. I find it much worse than the first launch of 2020. I’m sure it will improve with future updates. Ok, I thought they had a host of beta testers, then went alpha testing for many months. Were all these issues not found by those testers? So what was that even for? (4090, 64g, Pimax Crystal)
Yea I've been hearing about the VR problems, hoping it'll get better along with everything else. Was thinking about trying to experience MSFS with VR in 2025 - hope it happens :)
This is the first moment for me its not worth it. The Update ruined my game. can't load past 68%. Was working perfect before that. Worked through every possible quick fix with support. They've officially logged it as a bug.
I find MSFS 2024 horrible for UI. I have owned every version of this sim since 1986 and this one is by far the worst in terms of difficulty in getting the game to perform. I find the control setup incomprehensible.
This is a useless piece of c-p compared to MSFS 2020 and it’s got nothing to do with graphics, hardware or internet speed. The design itself is absolutely pointless and not worth the money.
If only they could’ve been honest and just say that this game is waay too complex to have a successful launch and that the beta testing would only begin when officially released. Everyone would be behind it. These companies need to stop treating gamers like crypto newbie suckers and just be honest. The community would be behind them 100%. I have no doubt this game will be awesome and even groundbreaking but I wish they’d just stop with the bs

What was the issue ? I got the game on launch for pc to only issue I run into is some of the missions get errors.
@ryanMcknight27 I could not lauch into the home screen. I was sat in a que for quite a while, so at 22.00 I left it on and went to bed.
