WOW! what an inspirational performance by these young men and women! Not only do they produce a great sound, but their drill, drumming and flourishing are all spot on. Congratulations Cadets, you should be proud of yourself.

So so impressive! I agree with that very very proud father's comment in the beginning... How could you not get goosebumps? Who would know they were cadets!?!? God love the UK!!

These young lads and lassies are a credit to the cadets and their instructor and should be at the main event at Edinburgh Tattoo! They're excellent musically and deportment, better than some others on the day.

Enjoy the occasional expressions of parental pride. Not too distracting from the music, but much appreciated in a world where many parents increasingly don't care.

You CANNOT get a line-of-march better than that. Much praise to these fine men and women of the forces.

Excellent! This shows the value of Tradition and honour! So sad to see so many (young) children these days hanging around, not knowing "what to do" with their lives and future. And not making anything of their lives... But these young Cadets : respect!

Cant stop watching this! There's a bit of a melancholy feeling the longer I watch this, and I can't seem to shake the thought of these brilliant young cadets, NOT just as excellent musicians but as future (and more than likely present, as I'm sure many of these teens were in their 16's, 17's, and 18's when the video was shot) soldiers in the royal armed forces. Each time I watch this, I see these young people less as musicians and ever more as soldiers fighting and dying overseas.
I can't help but wonder are the three drum majors serving? Are they alive? Are all the pipers still unharmed? It's not like in the old days were the pipers were standing on a high mountain over the battlefield rallying the troops. Now their in the middle of the fighting, trading in their pipes and perfectly drilled marching for automatic weapons and armored vehicles.
I pray that all of these young people, and all future cadets remain safe. God bless all those who serve, especially the sacrifices their families make.

Hi, I think you will find that the flag is the Union flag also known as the Union Jack.
The flag combines three older national flags: the red cross of St George for England and Wales, the white saltire of St Andrew for Scotland (which two were united in the first Union Flag), and the red saltire of Saint Patrick's Flag to represent Ireland.
I think this is why you will still see it flying above a British national monument.
    Hope this helps

Why are they not included in the Royal Edinburgh Tattoo they are better than some of the acts in the Tattoo

the reason they don't play in the tattoo is because they don't have no.1 kit.

+jack woods Hello there. it's called "The Drum Salute".
(Scotland's version. not sure its the only one - but this particular is always played by almost every single pipes and drums bands. it was considered to play as military call, summon rally, and times you'll hear it play at events)

    • @JockVanDee
      @JockVanDee 9 лет назад +1

Hi , you are right it's a drum salute or sometimes called a drum fanfare, there are hundreds of different drum salutes made by many leading tips and many drum majors, usually every band has their own drum salute. I only say this as I am a snare drummer and have played in 5 different bands and they all had a drum salute that was different from the others. Hope this helps

In Canadian Cadets (which I'm part of) my corp has 3 pipers, and in order to have a drum corp, we combine with a sister corp, where they have 2 sides, and 2 tenors. That's an average size pipe band in cadets. In the summer long programme, there are 6 playing pipers. And that's a big number for pipers.

It's not part of company its battalion, all cadets come together for one big camps from across the uk and any cadets, ask you battalion commander he will advise you on what to do I never knew we had it but every battalion has them, the adults who are involved in pipes and drums are placed in the support branch of battalion, hope this helps
