  • In this review we take a look at our Orca high performance cooler. This cooler is intended to keep your cold stuff colder for longer. It is also a bear proof and approved for food storage in bear country.
    Check out the entire line of Orca coolers on amazon here - amzn.to/2L6BT3e
    Or on Orcas website - orcacoolers.com/
    The Orca line of coolers are durable and well insulated. We have been using this unit for a summer season and generally love it! If you need to keep stuff cold for a long period of time these coolers are a great option. if you are looking for a simple cooler for overnight or a beach trip the extra price might not be worth it. The extra insulation to keep stuff cold works great but comes at the expense of size and weight. The coolers are quite large for the actual interior space and they weigh a lot more than a conventional cooler. Overall we give our Orca cooler high marks and use it regularly. We love the durability, how well it keeps things cold and the bear proof certification!

    Good review. Those are great coolers. I would've loved to have an orange one, but when I bought my seafoam 40qt they hadn't brought out the orange color yet. Oh well. When I bought mine from Orca they had a 25% off special, free shipping and no sales tax. That brought them down as cheap or cheaper than anyone elses design. Cheaper than anyone on Amazon. That 40 is about the biggest I can actually lug around loaded, and its still a beast.

    When you leave it in high temps the will not open until you release the pressure by opening the draining plug. You’ll hear the pressure release and the lid opens easily. Love my 40qrt. Great for 2 people for 5 days and yes, the ice will last 5 days even in Utah’s Canyonlands in direct sun.

    Personally my cooler sits in my truck box on the railroad. Routinely gets over 140 degrees inside the box. Some people still don't understand why I don't buy cheap ass coolers. Ice gets expensive when you buy multiple bags everyday.

    It is bear proof only if you add a lock on the corner

    Mine lives on the back of my rzr. The best way to clean them is to power wash them . It gets all the dirt out of the pours.

    No Made in America logo? I just ordered a white 40. Made in America was a part of my decision. I hope it comes with one.

      I used to be a fan of Rtic but just got back from a pheasant hunting trip and the lid on my 110 warped after it got down to 18* one night. Cooler is less than a year old. Before that happened I ordered a new 45 and that cooler came with a warped lid... still trying to return that one and get my money back, but definitely switching brands. Great video btw

      If you're trying to go for a more affordable unit look at Kenai. They're made by Grizzly. Not bear proof if that's a requirement for you. From what I've read they're great for the money, US made, and have available accessories like a tray and replacement handles. I don't have first hand knowledge but Kenai will be what I buy next. Can't beat a US made roto molded 45 qt for $189

      @@TechZACH16 I own a Grizzly 40 and love it. I may buy a bigger cooler and would def buy Kenai. I don't need it to be bear proof and love the price point.

    Don’t waste your money. Spend the extra 75 dollars and get a yeti. Customer service is no help. The lid delaminates in hot temperatures and the hinges are made of plastic.

    • @matts6551
      @matts6551 2 года назад

      So what you're saying is you'd rather have a cooler most likely made in the Philippines? Cause that's where most Yeti's are made. Got it. These are actually more money then Yeti per QT, and there's a reason....it's not just a foreign cooler with a fancy brand name.

      Go to hell, dumbass. What I’m saying is the orca coolers don’t hold up. People like you is what’s wrong with this country. You probably don’t own either one of them.

      @@matts6551 the name yeti is super fancy man ur right 😂😂 I’ve had a yeti for years and no issues..people think made in America is always best when my red wings constantly fall apart..gave up on those too..i go with best quality
