  • On the 10th anniversary of the 7/7 London bombings, former Prime Minister Tony Blair has been describing how he first heard about the attacks on the city. He said it was only as time passed, that it became clear that there were ''multiple casualties''.
Asked if he felt ''culpable'' because of his stance on Iraq and Afghanistan, he told the BBC's Norman Smith ''there will always be reasons and excuses that people use for terrorism''. ''In the end, the responsibility has got to lie with the people who carry this out and with those who encourage them,'' he said.

people saying blair is disgusting are right about the war in iraq and Afghanistan, but this is a man that took britain from the mid 90s shook it up and made it ready for the millennium showing economic competence could be matched with social decency truly in that aspect one of the best prime ministers this country has ever had.

Was the depleted uranium our wonderful lads dropped on civilians in Fallujah a justified response? Why was Iraq (a relatively secular anti al Qaeda country) attacked and not Saudi Arabia (from which the hijackers came and where they had learned to hate the West). Face it the troops were being used as mere pawns in a wider geopolitical agenda and would have attacked whoever they were ordered to by their corporate masters...

@@irateindividual8086 Someone dropped depleted uranium on civilians in Iraq? Do you even proof-read your comments before posting? You have the right to an opinion, but regardless of whether you're right or wrong, Tony Blair and George W. Bush are sane politicians defending their interests.
You're too busy trying to sound like Kremlin propaganda that you don't realize it's relatively easy to fact check your claims and easily disprove them.
No serious person will consider you to be credible when you lie with impunity and make a bad attempt at revising history. The US and the UK have a historical pattern of imperialism and backing coup d'etat to defend their business and foreign interest.
It shouldn't a difficult endeavor to identify alleged war crimes in Iraq, or identify a hypocritical foreign policy from the oldest liberal democracies in the West.
If you truly wanted politicians in the West held accountable for destabilizing the Middle East with the War on Terror and Arab Spring, you would make your case using facts.
