I try to be Jean, no point moping about, I think it’s wasted energy, and I am very luck, Harvey can sort most things, we’re nearly back to where we were before the burst, so I’ll be able to share the video soon of the drama 🫣 and the £4 will help to pay for it hahaha 🤣😂🤣❤️

At least the leak was found before the finishing layers were done. It will look lovely when it’s finished.

I also used to iron my hair Lynn. Sometimes using newspaper if I couldn’t find brown paper. However one day I caught my face with the iron. I was trying to look at what I was doing whilst I was doing it. Rookie mistake. The burn on my face unfortunately needed medical attention. The doctor asked e how I had burnt my face with an iron. When I told him I was straightening my hair he looked at me like I needed a psychiatric assessment not antibiotics !! 🤣.
Oh the things we used to do to look nice, but there was no such thing as straighteners back in the day, so we improvised lol. Sorry about your face though, I bet that hurt. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Lynn. You’ll be glad when the work is finished - I’m sure you’ll be back on track soon. My chemist will let me have 1% hydrocortisone which usually clears up rashes like that but they always say not to use it for too long ❤️
Hi Rosemary, I will, but we’re nearly back to where we were before the burst, so won’t be long till I’m all tidy again. I’ve just had some tea tree gel delivered so I’m hoping that will work 🤞❤️❤️❤️

Hi Lynn regarding your face you can buy a tube of hydrocortisone ointment from Boots it’s what I was prescribed from my skin specialist for my eczema on my face. Hope you are well otherwise.
Ah really, thank you for that, well I’m taking the anti histamine tablets, putting tea tree gel on, so if that doesn’t work I’ll be over to boots for sure ❤️
Have you tried Eurex cream that might help. And what a worry with the leak hope it’s all sorted. I must try some dumplings they look delicious have a great weekend ❤
No I haven’t tried that, I’ve got some gel coming that I ordered online, so I’ll try that and see what happens, if it doesn’t work I’ll get Eurex, thank you for telling me about it lovely lady ❤️❤️❤️

I think I would have cried but you’re such a lovely positive lady so well done for not letting it bring you down. Ah that’s nice Sandra, we are nearly back to normal now thank you. If I feel myself getting low, I always try and think of what I other people have to deal with, and it really does help me to stay positive, because I’d rather have to deal with my stuff, than have to deal with theirs, if that makes sense. Anyway it helps me for sure. Oh Tommy loved his pudding, he’s looking forward to this weeks bake 😂 Thank you so much Sandra ❤️❤️❤️
Oh Lynn, Love all your updates. Tesco trips are wonderful. I too bought a gilet, took it home, didn't like it and I somehow got out of the shop with the tag still on so couldn't wear it anyway, but swapped it for some pants!! they are Ok. Love your thinking, a big saving there, I would have done exactly the same. Sorry about your water problems, hope you get sorted soon. Making dumplings this weekend for tea. Have a great week. Gee that was good, in Oz if our surage or main outlet pipes are causing a problem, we call the water company, bcz that's their pipes, they come out and fix them, no charge, but of course we pay water rates quarterly, so I guess their is a charge, but something like yr problem could cost $2000. Or more, I hope it gets resolved soon, and aleatory you save £4. That will help, can't wait for yr next installment
Hi Rita, we called the water company and they said they aren’t responsible, all the details of what happened are in a video I’ll be uploading once the work on the front has been completed. It’s cost quite a lot up to now, and we aren’t finished yet, but that £4 will help like you say 😂😂😂 I’m glad you enjoyed it lovely lady ❤️
Another great catch up despite the leak. I’ve had a rough week myself, had abdominal surgery Wednesday and it’s been quite painful but on the up now I think. Keep up the good work x

It was quite the thing when I was a teenager to iron your hair, and to put soap on the inside of your jeans to iron the crease in hahaha ❤️
@@Nanna-M I haven’t heard of that. I used to roll my hair at night on metal juice tins. Then try to sleep with those things in my hair! Oh to be young and dumb again! The things we did to look pretty!

Hi Sue, my natural colour was very dark brown, bordering on black, but as I got older I used to have streaks in it, and before I went natural grey, it was nearly all blonde streaked with grey….best thing I ever did letting it grow out ❤️❤️❤️

I grew my hair colour out in lock down too its now ""platinum blonde" the colour I always wanted it 🤣

We pot people in the US are at a loss, I don’t know what mincemeat or suet are. I can guess what your dish is like based on ingredients I think are similar. Looks good.
Aw Billy, I didn’t think of that, minced meat is what you call ground beef I think, and I don’t think you can get suet in the US, it’s a fat, like bed fat ❤️❤️❤️
For suet in America If you ask your butcher for kidney fat, hopefully he will know what that is and mince is ground beef .
I have to say Lynn you’re very calm considering the horrendous water problem you and Harvey are facing…….I would be stressed to the hilt🫣. I live in an old cottage and always worry about burst pipes etc……I hope it all gets sorted for you soon. I do love a good stew and dumplings especially now the weather has changed……as a child we always had our dumplings first (like a starter I suppose) then the stew and veg…..on Sundays we had our Yorkshire pudding first too and then the meat and veg……my mums Yorkshire pudding was the best😋
Oh I’m generally a very calm person Bethany, and we’re nearly back to where we were before we realised we had a burst. This is the thing with old property, the joys of living in one. Well I’ve never heard of having your dumplings or Yorkshire puddings first, very interesting. Don’t you just love your mums cooking, mine wasn’t the best really, but my grandmas cooking, and baking was to die for 😋❤️❤️❤️

Hi Marilyn, oh it’s been quite a week really, but we found it, replaced it, got it tidied up, and woo woo the tarmac people have just rang to say they’re coming tomorrow to put the base down yeaaaaa, I’m so excited, honestly how can someone get excited about tarmac, I need to give my head a wobble haha 😂❤️❤️

What a nightmare Lynn. It’s something you just don’t need.
Take consolation in my week….woke up with blindness in third of right eye….7 hours in A and E….inflammation on optic nerve….long story short…on 12 steroids plus 4 other tablets to try to get inflammation down…on top of this had infection in front implanted tooth…antibiotics….all implant got to be removed and 2 perfect teeth filed down for bridgework….absolutely devastated….cost over £4000.00 …

OMG Jacquline, that makes my drama seem like nothing at all, I’m so sorry you’ve had all that to deal with, really I am, our eyes are precious, has the sight returned yet, and there’s nothing worse than infections and abscesses under your teeth, I can fair feel your pain, I have implants, and they’re so expensive, bless you….I hope things improve for you sweet lady ❤️

Hiya Lynn, wow, that water burst looks quite serious, did you contact the water board, just to find out if they knew if any bursts anywhere. Hope, it gets sorted soon. The itchy skin problem could be dermatitis, I have it on my elbows and it drives me daft, I use hydrocortisone cream. It helps, hope you're better in health than temper....re leak..tfs love ❤x
The burst was under our flags, and it was a lead pipe, it’s been a nightmare but we’re getting there now thank god ❤️❤️❤️ if I can’t sort it I’ll ring the gp, lots of love ❤️
I have sensitive skin and use Tea Tree Oil Gel, £1 per tube from Savers, don't know if anyone else sells it. It's amazing for everything and doesn't dry the skin out. Give it a try. Can't believe I've only discovered it this year, it's given me back my confidence ❤. Hope all working out with the water situation. Such a shame but good job you noticed it before tarmac/resin went down. Keep well x

@@Nanna-M Savers is online. I've always had to look after my skin and can't believe pharmacists and magazines don't promote this miracle gel. My granddaughter kept itching her leg, I put the gel on it stopped immediately. She couldn't believe it. It's very gentle but works. Sure this is going to be your answer. I have one next to me at night. If I'm tempted to scratch skin I put this on and everything calms down. Keep well and warm❤️

Hi twinnie, twinnie karen here 😂 oh Lynn, you poor thing. I've just watched your vlog, and I really do sympathise with you and Harvey. We had just finished decorating our whole house from top to bottom which had taken us 3 years, and then yes, you guessed it, we had a leak in our en-suite bathroom, which was coming through our brand new kitchen ceiling. We had to have a massive hole cut in the ceiling which lead to all the spot lights and electrics being ruined we was then told that if the leak couldn't be found via the ceiling hole we would have to take all the en-suite wall tiles and floor tiles off and take the toilet out as well. ( Lynn, i was having kittens) Luckily, days later, the leak was found, so I really do feel for you both. Let's hope this all gets sorted soon so you can continue with your drive. Hey there twinnie, we’ll at least mine was outside, much worse when it’s inside, and especially when you’ve just finished decorating… poor you Karen, I really sympathise with you for having to deal with all that. We’re nearly back to where we were before we realised we had it leak, except for all the flags that we have directly at the front of the house, they all need laying back, and pointing. It’s a biggish job, but we’ll do it. I suppose it makes for an interesting video though, hahaha always look on the bright side, glass half full and all that ❤️❤️

OMG Lynn what a mess with the busted pipe!! So glad y'all finally find it though. We had a busted pipe underneath the slab of the house about 3 years ago. There was no way to get to ours without tearing up the foundation of the house as we do not have basements where I live because where we live, it's below sea level. So they had to re route a whole new pipe system on the outside of the house. It was lovely seeing you again, and the meal you fixed sure looked good. We love chicken and dumplings here. Now a days though with it being just hubby and I we keep our meals very simple and easy. Happy birthday to your husband. Hope he enjoyed it, in spite of the mess in your yard. Hope your face irritation clears up soon. Is it eczema? I would get that from time to time on my eyelids. It would get so red, itchy and flakey. It does drive you crazy, I know. Oh no, did you, it sounds like what’s been going on here, it’ll all be in the video I was making about the new driveway. Mmmm chicken and dumplings, love it, and I like to add barley sometimes, but I didn’t have any in. I love good old hearty meals, reminds me of my granny ❤️❤️❤️

Lynn firstly. Can you believe the price of Atora now. Shocking Secondly what a mess the leaks made. You both must be gutted. We had one but luckily it was in the street just outside our garden. It was so bad it lifted the kerb and flooded part of our garden As it wasn’t on our property the council had to repair it OMG. Lynn you need an escort when you go shopping. Either that or you shop where there’s no clothing. On second thoughts you did make a space in your wardrobe 😂😂😂😂
Hi Pauline, I can’t believe the price of lots of things to be honest. Oh my word, water can cause so much damage, and United utilities came to look at it, couldn’t come till Wednesday, so we had to sort it ourselves, [and they said they’re not liable for the main, even though it was lead, they’re only responsible for the pipes up to the main stop tap, which is in the middle of the farmers field
So you can imagine I’m sure. Anyway it’s nearly sorted now so alls fine. I need an alarm to go off when I get near the clothes, and it should shout “ step away from the clothes “ and keep repeating till I do hahaha 🤣

Oh it seems to be a regular thing here at home, always bigger than expected, it’s a good job Harvey can do most things. Oh I’m very good at saving money hahaha ❤️

Hi Frances, no they don’t, we asked, but the pies are that old that they have no records, we’re nearly all sorted now, so hopefully we’ll be all clean and tidy by the end of next week ❤️❤️
