  • Second time fly fishing from the float tube to try our luck fishing for Rainbow Trout. We landed a few trout and lost a few fish, but got really lucky while fishing in the cold rain. Needless to say, we are getting the hang of using our Go Plus Float Tube.
    I was using my Orvis Clearwater 8wt Fly Rod combo for this because I forgot to pack my 4wt in the car. Turns out that it also works well for trout. Will definitely try this on bass or pike in the near future.

    What fish would you like to see us target next on our float tubes? Let us know in the comments.

    What a great day out on the water. Most fish are roughly 12 inches, but they fight hard. Don’t forget the net next time. LOL. Now it’s the time to go before the hot weather comes. Good job Bryan. Would love to see some bass fishing when season opens.

      I promise to try not to forget the net again or my 4wt rod for trout! LOL. They fight so hard that even my 8wt is getting bent. Bass will definitely be on the list. Thanks again Adrian.

    Were those on pheasant tails? lmao

    • @BryanWentFishing
      @BryanWentFishing  2 года назад +1

      90% of them on the pheasant tail nymph suspended just 2 ft below the surface. Some were caught on a damselfly nymph and some on the sulfur usual.

      @@BryanWentFishing nice I gotta find the time soon to bring my canoe or sup there sometime and try those patterns, last time I went I think it was late in the season and most were fished out or they were sitting low the depths.

    • @BryanWentFishing
      @BryanWentFishing  2 года назад

      Oh yes definitely sitting at low depths at this time of year. I target them in water between 10 to 15 ft deep (sometimes more). I find success by either use a long leader under myindicator or a sinking leader and counting 30 to 45 seconds to get it deep before a slow (as in reallly slow) retrieve. How do you target them from your SUP?

    • @jc.5537
      @jc.5537 2 года назад +1

      @@BryanWentFishing yeah I’d probably use a steelhead sinking leader or weights and probably slowly troll. I’m out east so we don’t have much stocked rainbow lakes here easily accessible as the west end. I was up northeast crownland camping on a stocked brook trout lake the past 3 days trolling spoons and spinners for them but looks like they’re down deep, got nothing but out of season smallies.
