Another aspect nobody covered is the lack of club bangers. Since Trap and Drill music is the predominant genre the current artists make music for, it's not club music. Trap and drill are double-timed or slower beats, analogous to club music, which is 90bpms or faster. So club DJs have to prioritize 90's and 2000's music, which doesn't fit the crowd of occupants in the club. The Gen-Xers and millennials grew out of clubbing.
I see why people say college the best times of your life because that’s genuinely one of the last times I went to a party & legit had fun. I graduated 2017, so idk if college parties lame now?
I just finished college it’s still living up to hits hype but a few things have changed from my freshman year all the to recently getting my masters. Let’s say social media has a huge effect on how everything is done compared back then everyone lived in the moment having fun
This is so true... clubbing during college years (especially student clubs) was genuinely about meeting new people and being open minded to even "boring conversation." Clubbing after college is just about numbing your mind with alcohol, even I don't wanna talk to random strangers, there is no point... it's a grown up thing,
@@explainableai6975 I think the worst part is that nobody interacts with people they don’t know. Men & women not dancing together unless they in a relationship. Drinks overly expensive. The club has turned into who can spend the most money on bottles and get stories for their IG. It ain’t like back in the day when dudes would get a Wally and dance with girls everybody now is tryna have a vip section and smoke hookah 🤷🏾♂️😂😂
So it’s a problem when men won’t let you in his section because you bring nothing, BUT it’s all good when women reject men because they don’t buy them a drink even if they don’t like them
wow so they basically saying it's mandatory for a man to offer a free drink on him just because he want to talk to her or dance with her... and they wonder why men even stop going on dates now, the entitlement is crazy
I'm GenX and here is my 2 cents. We originally went to the clubs to party not meet women. Chasing them doesn't work. You have to let them come to you. Back then, the coolest place to be was on the dance floor. Go to the dance floor, get your groove on, dance with whoever comes to dance with you, buy her a drink after to show appreciation and keep it moving to the next chick. You are guaranteed to get played if you don't let the women come to you. Once people stopped dancing and started posing for their IG, that's when the Club Culture died, in my opinion.
In Denver, if it was early and the floor was empty, all I had to do was get out there and start dancing, and the other girls would get right out there because the focus was on the dancefloor, and they didn't want me out there getting all of the attention for myself. And then it was on. The guys would get out there with us and we'd get all kinds of messy all night until the bright lights came on suddenly at the end of the night. It was beautiful and I'm so glad I was part of it. Went dancing every night except Mondays bc the clubs were all closed.
Women are not even in the top 5 reasons the club culture is dead. Dance floors being replaced by bottle service sections, dj's are terrible nowadays, the music being played is even worse, violence or the threat of violence scares people away
Man, i live in the bronx and i love that men are making these videos. I went to a "lounge" party almost 3 years ago. Unless you are a party promoter, the loud ratchet brotha, bouncer, or dance team member; you have no hope talking to a female. Like all the guys said, women have control over the setting and they kill it for regular dudes. RIP to all those who have died in the club scene.
Social media and smart phones killed club culture. People are so busy pretending and posing they having a good time that the forget to have one. Another thing is, randomly dancing with strangers is not what it use to be. People are more self-conscious on who approaches them and attempts to dance with them. Also, when they killed slow jams at the end of the night
Club culture is dead because everybody wants a fucking section. There was a time where club culture where everybody was just out on the Dancefloor and mingling with everybody.
What killed clubs? As a former club promoter and cocktail bar manager - Expensive tables taking over dance floors - Phones and social media - Girls getting into clubs and all expecting free drinks (used to be only models and special guest tables) - Dating apps - Door policy only letting girls in and guys on a table. If a guy is dressed cool but not on a table he isn’t getting in - No seating area or dance floor unless you’re in VIP. No mingling - Hiring bad DJs who promote over a GOOD DJ who doesn’t promote - Clubs running the same kind of night EVERY night. Stale and boring
Can’t play both sides of discussion to avoid blame The social media influence has ruined the night club. Standing around showing ppl you have money and showing people where you are the indirect priority of what people seemed to be doing in club Imagine going to a party and everyone is on their phones live streaming 20+ holding their cell phones say “ look where I’m at “ The music is bad now, club owners make it a point to make liquor bottles 4x than liquor stores prices (with 2 bottle minimum) no dancing no dance floor No having a good time just an opportunistic environment
Clubbing used to be for dancing, but now it’s all about spending money, showing off, and acting more important than what you actually are. However, once again men are at fault for supporting these establishments. Theres a reason why women don’t go to all female clubs. Stay Focused!
Women come to social event to be antisocial. Music is not made for partying anymore it’s either stripper music or killing/drug music Clubs are too expensive. Sections are too expensive. Drinks are too expensive. The club has turned from a place to have fun and socialize to a place to flex and take pix for social media
Gen-Xer here: When we went to the club, the dance floor is where it was at. People actually socialized, danced, played pool, exchanged numbers, drank, conducted business, or listened to the music. Today too many folks are more entertained by their phones. Feel sorry for you younger folks who have no idea how to have fun in the moment.
Clubbing died in certain cities as clubs didn't keep up with the "Vibe,"a new generation of DJs, and people untethered to the scene with obessive phone use. Also, people's priorities shifted, starting families earlier, chasing the bag $$$ and increased travel! On the downside, violent behavior has also affected the vibe! Now we just rather do house parties/ game nights, group travel, day parties, and / or nice dinners!
it depends on the club you go to, as a latino the reggaeton clubs have all the women dancing but the “hip hop” clubs are all about tables and looking cool .
Loved this debate. In the late 80's early 90's I was "in da club" 3/4 times a week. People danced face to face, and other ways too, but there's alot of extra "baggage" coming to the club nowadays. Too many agendas besides meeting people and having fun, people creating content and not being present, but engagimg with their "followers."
I think that it was already on life support before the pandemic but got put out of its misery afterwards. Also social media played a large part. People don't even have to leave their house to meet someone.
This is why I've been salsa and bachata dancing for 7 years now. It can be a light hearted dance with no romantic expectations. Of course there's times when one gets the wrong impression from the other but in my experience it can just be a dance the conversation happens after
As someone that clubbed during the hyphy movement in NorCal all through my 20s and most of my 30s then took a break and went out in my 40s I'd say the top reasons are there aren't many clubs around but rather lounges. Tables are now in the middle of the dance floor. You gotta buy a bottle or get a section just to sit down. People literally stand around and wait for opportunities to go live. The younger folks are too cool to dance and don't want to approach each other because they don't want to look thirsty. Also no one dresses up anymore. The black girls are wearing Js in the club looking like boys. No sex appeal. Plus the music is different. We had songs that made u dance and often had dances go with them.
The woman on the right is hilarious because NOBODY goes to the club to dance with other people. Dudes go there to hopefully get some action 100% and so do the women. That’s why they always throw it back on dudes. 💯
The women usually go to dance, get attention and get free drinks. That's why they still going. Men go in the hopes of meeting a chick. Most men stop when it's not happening for them.
@@sdmoore89dance with themselves. That is all they do is grind on each other while men just watch from faraway because nobody wants to keep getting embarrassed. Can’t blame men.
@@brillyanse my point is women desire to go to bars and clubs not necessarily for attention or to hook up. Thats why some places have women’s only clubs. It’s not lesbian clubs just spaces where girls can have fun and dance together. And why would you go to a lesbian bar as a guy?
The nightclub is not a scam. It’s exactly as advertised: create an atmosphere with excessive amounts of alcohol & drug use; incentivize the women the opportunity of artificially acquiring attention & validation from men by promoting sexuality; and provide the men who attend the offer of exchanging their money for the possibility of exhorting sexuality from the women who are there, bartenders included. It’s not a scam but it’s definitely an optical illusion 🤷🏾♂️✊🏾

She wonderfully demonstrated how easily a woman will speak your business just to be right in a trivial debate. The confidential good time he treated her to was repaid by her putting it on blast in order to best him in the discourse. Lovely Liabilities
Also to clarify when I use to go to clubs, now at 34 that ain't my thing now I am starting to entertain day parties more. From what I have seen those seem to be more enjoyable and social and rather great way to meet ppl outside of their routine.
Facts I remember going in the club and every week I was pulling a new girl and I am only 5"7 . The women killed the club heck I went in with one woman and came out with another . No hating if my chick got pulled by another man..
From ‘88 to 2001, you woulda had massive fun, dancing with all the chicks you damn near could. Now? Ha. Good luck. She’s twerking on her girlfriend and uploading it to Snapchat while u Watch from the corner with your beer in your hand head nodding to the music.
I agree with the notion of dancing in the clubs now is inappropriate. It is too close. Me and my girl when we hit the club we actually dance with each other. Two step, salsa, that type shit. Yes we do like to hit a lil bump and grind but that’s a rare occasion for us, why? cuz actually dancing is way more fun & interesting to watch. It sounds like a change needs to happen in what men and women expect when they are dancing with each other in the club. This is just one issue in the bigger issue.
Depending where you are traditional night clubs have to contend with brunch day parties, rooftop parties, lounges, bars, and pool parties.... People have a lot of options to go socialize.
As a person that haven’t been to a club in 15 years this is entertaining. Yall missed a great time back in the day. We used to have fun and meet people. If your shirt wasn’t sweaty at the end you did it wrong.

Went to, what I thought was a regular, Friendsgiving event with a friend. Turns out it was a house party. I’ve never been to a party at the adult level until then and, even though it was a cool experience, the vibe was lame. I wasn’t expecting to dance with anyone since I got social anxiety like that. But it sucked that everyone else was so lowki. Some people talked, but no one danced fr and the Dj tried his best to get everyone moving. I danced a little two-step but that’s when I noticed no one else was vibing so I stopped. I ended up on the stairs talking to one of the studs for a while until they left. I observed that none of the action I saw in movies and tv as a kid occurred at that party. Most of those people had partners with them, and they didn’t dance together either. So it was just people talking over loud af music. For all that, the host could’ve just played music from a Bluetooth speaker on a lower volume.
I’ve never been a big club goer but I’m so glad I was 18-21 before IG jumped off and ruined everything. I went to a club when I was like 26 and that shit was horrible like completely different no point in going to club anymore

@@BlackTalkTv true the Memphis rap scene had some hang time throughout the 2000s and early 10s but it was still overlooked and still underground which is hard to believe it seems that genre stayed under the radar but unfortunately pop music and early drill was taking over
I think the club culture was always headed in the direction of dying. The main reason is because nobody comes to meet anybody. Everybody knows men are there for the women. But women aren't there for every man. The clubs only work if women (who are rhe gate keepers) are there to meet everybody and not selective about who they talk with. I am not saying you sleep with everybody, but what I am saying is be social with everybody and see where things go. If 80% of the men do not have a chance, they stop going. When men stop going, everything falls apart. Now women say they go to be there with their friends but they do want men there. But as I said, with no interaction, it becomes just a females club. At that point it is no longer the normal club scene.
Keisha only wants Pookie. Good Men get Used. That's the truth. The music is all drill music. R&B is dead. Women act like men and don't wanna talk. Everybody Gang Gang now and you got now Players anymore.
Glad I went through my clubbing phase when I did back in 01-08. The dance floor was poppin girls weren't entitled princesses, there was the obligatory fight but no one was airing the place out over something petty, people were there to have fun not be seen
People still go out and have a good time just not at the clubs anymore. Brunch, restaurants/dinner parties, day parties, music festivals all replaced the clubs.
Ok. I think I recognize the problem here. And in short. Depending on what part of "club culture" we are talking about. Women AND men killed club culture 🤨.

There no more dance music
I see why people say college the best times of your life because that’s genuinely one of the last times I went to a party & legit had fun. I graduated 2017, so idk if college parties lame now?
Yeah I know
I just finished college it’s still living up to hits hype but a few things have changed from my freshman year all the to recently getting my masters.
Yea h3ll no, covid killed everything I had one semester before college got killed by the pandemic
The club has turned into who can spend the most money on bottles and get stories for their IG. It ain’t like back in the day when dudes would get a Wally and dance with girls everybody now is tryna have a vip section and smoke hookah 🤷🏾♂️😂😂

The answer to why is club culture dead is answered by these three women. Not their answers, but the personalities itself.
No pumpkin. You just downright hate women, and haven't analyzed your own thought processes enough yet to realize it. 💛
So it’s a problem when men won’t let you in his section because you bring nothing, BUT it’s all good when women reject men because they don’t buy them a drink even if they don’t like them
Somebody see it..
She said "its weird to dance on a man in the club" but it's ok to dance on her homegirl.
Lol
they be doing the most sexual shit on each other but wont dance with a man ? lol smh i mean if that what they wanna do fine but its strange to me
I woulda told them if they wanna do that lesbian shit just go to a gay club smh
wow so they basically saying it's mandatory for a man to offer a free drink on him just because he want to talk to her or dance with her... and they wonder why men even stop going on dates now, the entitlement is crazy
The one in white. Yuck. We know nobody's asking her for a dance
Bang on. The camera & clout killed it.
4:12 - 4:16 wait, wait. Did she REALLY say “But these are generalizations! My thing is For Men and Women IN GENERAL…” 😳
Women are not even in the top 5 reasons the club culture is dead. Dance floors being replaced by bottle service sections, dj's are terrible nowadays, the music being played is even worse, violence or the threat of violence scares people away
Women are the number one reason! All they do is interact with other women and dance with other women… That’s what killed the club scene.
U don’t go clubbing much do u?
@@TheIcemanthomas I’ve managed nightclubs for 12 years. I know what I’m talking about
Man, i live in the bronx and i love that men are making these videos.
Women destroyed it

Social media and smart phones killed club culture. People are so busy pretending and posing they having a good time that the forget to have one. Another thing is, randomly dancing with strangers is not what it use to be. People are more self-conscious on who approaches them and attempts to dance with them. Also, when they killed slow jams at the end of the night
Club culture is dead because everybody wants a fucking section. There was a time where club culture where everybody was just out on the Dancefloor and mingling with everybody.
Studio 54
What killed clubs? As a former club promoter and cocktail bar manager
- Expensive tables taking over dance floors
- Phones and social media
- Girls getting into clubs and all expecting free drinks (used to be only models and special guest tables)
- Dating apps
- Door policy only letting girls in and guys on a table. If a guy is dressed cool but not on a table he isn’t getting in
- No seating area or dance floor unless you’re in VIP. No mingling
- Hiring bad DJs who promote over a GOOD DJ who doesn’t promote
- Clubs running the same kind of night EVERY night. Stale and boring
Sections killed the club culture
What happend to house parties🤷🤷🤷🤷
Everyone on this panel (including the men) are the reason the club is dead.
Can’t play both sides of discussion to avoid blame
The social media influence has ruined the night club. Standing around showing ppl you have money and showing people where you are the indirect priority of what people seemed to be doing in club
Imagine going to a party and everyone is on their phones live streaming
20+ holding their cell phones say “ look where I’m at “
The music is bad now, club owners make it a point to make liquor bottles 4x than liquor stores prices (with 2 bottle minimum) no dancing no dance floor
No having a good time just an opportunistic environment
Clubbing used to be for dancing, but now it’s all about spending money, showing off, and acting more important than what you actually are. However, once again men are at fault for supporting these establishments. Theres a reason why women don’t go to all female clubs. Stay Focused!
The accuracy of your post bro!💯

Women come to social event to be antisocial.
Music is not made for partying anymore it’s either stripper music or killing/drug music
Clubs are too expensive.
Then these other generations of women ruined it for everyone
Ever since tik tok & city girls got women to hate men the world hasn’t been the same since. Too much division
gotta love how they just feel so entitled to walk in someone's club section
Clubbing died in certain cities as clubs didn't keep up with the "Vibe,"a new generation of DJs, and people untethered to the scene with obessive phone use. Also, people's priorities shifted, starting families earlier, chasing the bag $$$ and increased travel! On the downside, violent behavior has also affected the vibe! Now we just rather do house parties/ game nights, group travel, day parties, and / or nice dinners!
This was terrible watch. Smfh
I think clubbing past 25 is whack. Sections, bottle service, $5 water (happened to me in ATL), no one dancing, fuck that place.
Why a man don’t hit prime till 35
I live in Atl it’s the worst bro smh…
it depends on the club you go to, as a latino the reggaeton clubs have all the women dancing but the “hip hop” clubs are all about tables and looking cool .
The Pandemic definitely accelerated the process. My friends and I actually noticed the difference, shit was crazy.

They rather go back home to play with their toys

The nightclub is not a scam. It’s exactly as advertised: create an atmosphere with excessive amounts of alcohol & drug use; incentivize the women the opportunity of artificially acquiring attention & validation from men by promoting sexuality; and provide the men who attend the offer of exchanging their money for the possibility of exhorting sexuality from the women who are there, bartenders included.
They should have this conversation with people who was outside in the mid 90's and early 2000's they could answer these people questions easy.
Club culture was slowly dying ever since the 90s. Social media and societal influence just sped up the process
Last time i went to a club, i was like 31, im 43 now...i have no clue what they do. It was getting whack then, thats why i stopped going.

The music really killed it.
The conversation would be better if everybody was real and told the truth

Good Men get Used.
That's the truth.
The music is all drill music. R&B is dead.

Glad I went through my clubbing phase when I did back in 01-08. The dance floor was poppin girls weren't entitled princesses, there was the obligatory fight but no one was airing the place out over something petty, people were there to have fun not be seen
They go to the club and hold them phones out full video shoots in there
People still go out and have a good time just not at the clubs anymore. Brunch, restaurants/dinner parties, day parties, music festivals all replaced the clubs.
Ok. I think I recognize the problem here.
And in short. Depending on what part of "club culture" we are talking about. Women AND men killed club culture 🤨.
