How to add the plastic joints to the toys

I really would not melt the end of the joint or change the connecting disc in any way, this is changing the fabric of the security of the item which will fail and become a choking hazard in the future particularly as the items are quite small

I wouldn't crochet such toys for newborn babies. and big kids won't swallow anything🤷‍♀
