    Joseph Haydn is a composer who, when played by such masters as Rostropovich, exudes the essence of youth and light. Fantastic!

    This is the piece that convinced me Haydn is a great composer, and not just a very good one. To me his music often sounds just a bit dry and uneventful as compared to Mozart, but this piece is truly magnificent -and Rostropovich's performance is literally peerless.

      I couldn't agree more.
      I felt exactly the same when I listened for the first time to Jacqueline Dupre's interpretation of this wonderful piece.

      While I agree with you that this piece is magnificent, I think "dry and uneventful" is in many ways the polar opposite of Haydn. He arguably was less conventional in his Symphony writing than Mozart (see his 22nd and 49th symphonies) and didn't mind violating the rules here and there - similar points could be made with his sonatas too. Secondly, Haydn was known to be a bit more cheerful and humorous (especially with his iconic 94th symphony hehe) as well as creative (with his Clock Symphony). Third, Haydn - in my opinion - has a lot of mood changes to his writing (examples: second movements to his 88th and 92nd symphonies) as well as a strong emphasis on dynamic usage.

      @@ketanfernandes4094 agreed,
      To me Haydn's music is joyous it's euphoric with brief moments of sadness usually content kind of sadness especially with his D major concerto...

    Le grand Maître Rostropovitch ne cherche pas à faire chanter le violoncelle comme un violon , Il tire de son instrument tout ce qu'il peut donner , une diversité de sons et d'humeurs dont on ne peut même pas rêver , parce que l'on croit que l'instrument en est tout bonnement incapable . Dans ses mains , le violoncelle chante, souffre , murmure passionnément. Rostropovitch possède toute une palette de sons depuis les basses étoffées et profondes comme celles d'un orgue , et jusqu'aux sons les plus clairs qui rappellent un carillon de clochettes argentées . Il n'a pas son pareil pour passer audacieusement du pathétique sublime à une simplicité touchante , d'un burlesque souligné à un lyrisme profond , la douceur et la tendresse du pianissimo font place à la bravoure d'un passage dramatique .

    슬라바의 하이든c는 기량도 기량인데 음색과 해석이 미쳤음. 논리정연함과 수미일관성의 극치를 보여주는데 이건 그 스스로 작곡가이자 지휘자이기 때문에 가능한 면이 있을 것임. 그 제자라 할만한 사람들 중 스승을 넘어서는 사람이 없음.

      미샤 마이스키도 로포비치 제자인가? 이 곡만큼은 마이스키가 가장 깔끔하게 잘 해석한 거 같아서 물어봄

    • @gena4745
      @gena4745 Год назад

      저는 요요마나 마이스키는 기본적으로 '해석'을 하는 아티스트라곤 생각하지 않습니다. 그때그때의 음색과 자유도를 극대화시키는 유에 속하고, 슬라바처럼 정밀함과 논리일관성을 중시하는 도그마틱적 스코어리딩을 하는 타입과는 거리가 전혀 멀어요. 물론 그것도 광의의 해석에 속하고 그게 더 열등하다고 볼 수는 없겠지만, 최소한 이런 류의 논리적 명료함과 일관성은 슬라바가 아니면 할 수 없습니다. 지휘자로서의 관점, 작곡가로서의 관점이 모두 반영된 해석이라 봅니다.

      yep, in any musicians life a point in time comes in which they fall and will no longer be as good as they are. Mistakes that a 40 would not simply not make would be made by a 70 yr old. It happens to everyone, even the greats.
