    I love this game!! And I already watched your Terra Mystica video, which I will go back to in parts. In full disclosure, I got the computer version of the game, which makes it easier for me in the learning process. But watching real people play the real game - that is priceless in terms of explaining the many processes. The two of you work so well as a team! You play at a normal, natural pace, not trying to rush everything - which I like! The purple power, and rotation through the 3 bowls - using the power is a major part of the strategy and [still] quite confusing for me, even after many playthroughs. (*It's a relief when on the computer, since that makes all the calculations, for all the various currencies.) However I'd like to get to a point where I can play the real game, and track/follow all these actions for every player. I think it's a nice twist but an added complexity that almost everything is different for each faction (ROFL)

      Hi there! Yes, Gaia Project really is a very cool game. It's great to hear that you like the pace of our videos, and hopefully you can follow our explanations. The Power rotation certainly does lead to a lot of strategic decisions. If you jettison some off to space then you get to use some power straight away and it recycles quickly, but there is also something to be said of a slow buildup and then having a turn where you have a lot of power at your disposal! I would say a lot of the strategy depends on what faction you are using. I'm sure you could handle the physical game too. I would advise that you just set it up and start playing with it. After doing that, if you go back to watch the playthrough things should start to make more sense. Good luck with it! Thanks for your comment!

    Thank you for your gameplay - I enjoyed watching it! You also have interesting comments at the end of the movie.
    Gaia Project is one of my most favorite games that I play often. That's why I found small mistakes:
    39:36 Either the power move from the research tracks board OR the round booster, never both (rulebook p.15-16)
    1:02:53 and 1:03:56 - Pat could have charge power (this happens not only by upgrading structures - also building a mine - rulebook p.17)
    Great game!
    Greetings!

      Hi Lord Vader. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the video. Thank you for pointing out the errors. I have made notes in the Klingon subtitles, so hopefully that can help people learning the game. Cheers!

    Just FYI: At 39:30 you used two special actions to gain 3 terraforming levels. You can only take one special action per turn.

    As an advice: Mark each planet you colonized on the endgame-board with one of your cubes. ;-)

    some good tips at the end, thank you. I will be trying this one out on BGA now that I discovered they have the Automa implemented. I find the game difficult....there is a lot to manage & it's very easy to mismanage and/or just plain forget things :)

      Hi Andrew! How are things man? Yeah, Gaia Project certainly isn't easy. There is a lot going on and just when you think you are almost set up, the game is nearly over! But we really enjoyed it. The theme is great, very good mechanics and good quality components too. There are a lot of factions too and the random round bonuses, round boosters and end of game bonus tiles give it a lot of replayability. Let us know how you get on with it on BGA!

    29:30 i think you could have charged power for the new mine, not just on upgrade of the building.

    • @AllAboardBoardgames
      @AllAboardBoardgames  Год назад +1

      Hello Mr_Baggins. You are absolutely correct. Thank you for letting us know. Pat should have been able to charge power for free when Glai built her mine. I have made a note in the Klingon subtitles. Hope you enjoyed the video!

      @@AllAboardBoardgames it is really helpful. i played my first game yesterday and am not 100% sure about the rules. I was really stuck in round two of the game, because i only could do 2 actions before i had to pass and the automa still had 3 or 4 actions after i passed so he was ~15 points ahead on the VP scale.

      @@ChndlrBng_ Ah, I haven't played against the Automa but I'm sure you will get the hang of it after a few rounds. I think it is important to get your Planetary Institute out as soon as possible because that opens up your special ability. It's important to take advantage of your Faction's abilities to give yourself more resources and better chances to score points. Keep an eye on the round bonuses, both for the current round and the rounds coming up, but your main focus should be on the end of game bonuses because you can score a lot of points there. Best of luck in your next game!

      Pat, I meant to ask, which do you prefer, GP or Terra Mystica? I lean toward GP, but haven't really played it enough to make a fair assessment yet.

    • @AllAboardBoardgames
      @AllAboardBoardgames  2 года назад

      @@MisterG2323 Actually Geoff, I haven't played Terra Mystica yet. I like the fantasy theme quite a bit but from what I have seen on video playthroughs, I think that Gaia Project looks a bit more streamlined and has a nicer layout. I like GP a lot though, so I definitely would like to try out TM.

      Hello Ali. Thank you for your comment. We play with the board upside down so that you guys can see it from the right way up. We use a number of cameras, but we do not want them to be visible in the video so we cannot put them behind us. That means that for you guys to see the game at the best angle, we have to play upside down. :-)
