5M was almost 20% increase in speed, not something to handwave away. Switch to Flashprint, not all the bells and whistles but usually better quality prints.

I have not seen such bad print quality on 5M yet. It is probably combination of multiple factors. Obviously you are not familiar with Kliper and I have a feeling with CoreXY printers in general, insufficient cooling probably plays a factor and you have probably not used good quality rapid filament which is required to achieve good results on high speed prints... The overhangs and such bad layer-lines in my opinion are the result of filament not melting fast enough. Oh and btw. 5M needs bed leveling before every print, don't ask me why but without leveling prints simply look bad (just like yours)

I don't think the filament is the problem, I did tried slower speeds, comparable to my S1 Pro and then some. I've also used the same filament on my K1 Max with much higher speeds and the problems do not happen on that machine. I did run bed meshes on the 5M but nothing seemed to improve the layers. Regarding Klipper on the 5M, there really not much to it, it's close sourced and can't really change anything. I familiarized myself rather quick when I rooted the K1 and the control I get with it is pretty cool.

5M doesn't need bed leveling before every print, something is wrong in your setup.

@@RickMcQuayit doesn't require theoretically, but read Flashforge forums or watch YT videos... There is a very noticeable difference in print quality if you do run the auto bed leveling before the print. I do it on my 5m and and Qidi x and I have perfect prints every time with no bed adhesion issues.

Great video!Thinking of snagging this printer. Between this and the Ender 3 V3 KE. Both $245 shipped on ebay with coupons.

Saludos!

@@ZeltroixWhow! Thanks for sharing. If you have the time and interest, can you make a video about it? I have the same printer and I would like to upgrade mine. Also, did you change the nozel / extruder? Thanks.
