    From setting up information booths for a public radio station I was at in Irvine, Ca, I learned to ask my vendor booth contact to place me on the aisle that leads to the bathrooms. Corner spot worked best. Why? Everyone goes to the restroom several times a day. Especially if they have kids or they be drinking a lot.

      Big Brandoh if me and you are ever at the same event, I get dibs on that spot homie. What is funny is at the beginning of the event you think it is a horrible spot. Two hours into the event it turns into the aisle of gold. Crack a joke while they run past you to go pee and they will visit you when they are happy that they did not go in their pants. Have a roll of TP with you for fun and wave it as they run past you.

    Damn...you were ALL up in my head man. I am a photographer and now selling tote bags until I get to do people photography again. My ideology of a show with tables, hanging my tote bags and anticipating buyers coming up and purchasing stuff was EXACTLY as you mentioned here. I am SO humbled right now. "Who are your target audiences? How/where do you find them or they find you when 1st starting out?" Thank you SO much for this video. I was going to try and incorporate photography (headshots) while offering totes are same time, but wondering if that is a failed idea (do either or)? But, if photography is slow now because of COVID fears, do I completely dismiss it and just do totes? How can I steer them towards my true passion of photography and can I merge the two (photos and unique designed tote bags?

    Loves This Video FAM.
    At my very 1st show I didn’t buy a vending space & I had to leave because it was a sold out show :(
    My 2nd show I was placed in the very back next to emergency exit :(
    Fast forward to now, I have a custom 10x10 canopy that stands out so much,
    a double sided 10x6 banner so people in front & behind me can see my booth, a custom 6ft table cover and everything is matching & on point. It took time to put together but I love my mobile apparel store. Hope One Day You Big Brandoh can swing by one of my shows, after the COVID-19 calms down 1st.

    Alright just did my first round of pressing. 4 BC3001's 100% cotton. I am using the sig series 15x15. Transfer company said 375-385 for 7-8 seconds. First, the monitor on my sig series is WAY off. Set it to 385 and it shot to 400. Used the laser to set it to 380 and prepressed for 7 seconds and pressed the transfer for 7 seconds. First press came out perfect. Second press had a few spots stick to the sheet. 3rd press, half the transfer stuck to the sheet and the rest was bubbled. I didnt do anything different each time. All were different designs, but from the same printer (one from the book) and all from the same order. Any help is appreciated!

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  4 года назад +1

      sounds like its either moisture in your shirt or not enough pressure. try maxing out the pressure knob to press as heavy as possible and then prepress the shirt till theres no more steam.
      before pressing the whole design, cut one design up and then press each piece at a different temp. this way you can fond what settings work best for you.

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  4 года назад +1

      keep them separate. run your brand as your brand and run your graphic design and other brands separate. I structure my business based on everything im doing. theres more into what i do outside of the brands. so my structure is unique to the way i do things. yours would be different from kine as well.

    I was looking for information on this! This is perfect, thanks again for sharing. I have done some pop up events in the days of selling ladies fashion and same thing no sales or 1 sales. I went to so many events that I starred to get discouraged and stopped going cuz the time it takes to haul your stuff was exhausting. Fast forward 7 years later and new to the tshirt sector I have signed up for 2 night market events one in May and one just before Canada day. I wanted to mostly focus on clearing out all my merch (Womens dresses) that didn’t sell due to COVID cuz everyone was working from home, and “introduce” small part of the tshirt stuff.
    My question to you is, have you ever set up as a “press & purchase” meaning did you bring your heat press and press tshirts as customer request based on the heat transfers you had as options? So if someone wanted blue size L in one of your transfer designs you would press on demand?

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  2 года назад +1

      hi. i havent did live pressing at an event in years. i found success doing custom soccer shirts and baseball shirts at kids games. selling to parents and family members. but no success at craft fairs, festivals, swap meets... but live pressing numbers and names on shirts for family members of kids playing sports was a winner. hard part is having power for your press in your booth. some events i vended at didnt supply power.

    Hey Big Brandoh, I made a mistake and have a question for you. I tried to apply HTV to a shirt using an iron for the very first time. Some of the vinyl came out really wrinkly. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? Is it too much heat, not enough heat? I'm not sure since it's my first time.

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  4 года назад

      yeah. dont use a iron. hahaha. htv and other heat transfers need to be applied at a certain temp with even pressure. unless your iron can dial in a certain temp and you can gauge how much pressure you are distributing. but if you want to apply htv on shirts correctly, use a heat press. you will run into a lot of quality issues by using your iron.

And i think people purchased more items when they were able to walk in and touch the product was because once the stepped in the booth they felt like they had to buy something since theyre already in and engaged. Instead of wondering why you are not selling look at the booths that are selling or have big crowds and see if you can figure out what they are doing. • @BigBrandoh

      nah it doesnt work that way. if you create a design in silhouette it lives on the silhouette software. but if you create it in photoshop, you can save it and open it in silhouette.
      in the future i would create all the designs in photoshop first. that way you can do your mock ups and open the design in silhouette as a png

      Big Brandoh hey so I figured it out & now I’m all done with my mockup. JUST one thing,,
      After creating our mock up in photoshop in what format do we save it as in order to upload it to our online platform. In my case, Shopify.

    How's everyone storing their transfer sheets?

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  4 года назад +2

      in big envelopes or desk top file trays.

    • @thecomiccircuit
      @thecomiccircuit 4 года назад +2

      Shotgun envelops...with the heat instructions on top and which printer to on..in case I forget or get flustered and can't think...

      Thanks. Been staring at this new press for a month in this transition period switching from POD to transfers and my first box of transfers just showed up. Bout to press for the first time today.

      @@jakesilvia I got me a box of irregular tee's with some sample packs from fm expression and transfer express...it's cool when you're in the groove...but my 'groove' is like 10 shirts, I'm new, still doing shirts for friends and family...your 'groove' milage may vary...👍

    I've only done 2 events but that advice "don't go with the anticipation of selling out" is so real. I learned the hard way ha ha, but it's still so good to hear someone say this. Some things you have to hear over and over, be reminded of them. Have the anticipation of gaining new customers, I like that!

    You definitely could of made money if you would of catered to the demographic that was at the shows you vended at. But yes your target market was definitely not where you vended.

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  4 года назад +1

      thats exactly it. knowing who is at the event and catering to will be there.
