One thing I’m not doing with my husband is paying bills, taking out trash, or any maintenance with our car 🚘 I would say that patriarchal marriages work more in a woman’s favor than for men! Nothing wrong with wanting to marry a friend. My best relationship was with a friend. We were basically dating without knowing it. So I would love to have the same situation again. But NO ONE wants a friend to propose pit of left field and in front of tons of people. Think about the guy friends you have and whether you want them to just decide to do that you. She's lucky (or may be blessed) she got a heads up. Because that would have went left. You saw what she said about being taken aback on the call. Now imagine that in front of a bunch of people.

I love how God states in his word that we are to submit one to the other first! Both actually are submitting to each other. So many times folks get it lopsided. :) My husband and I have been married 40 years and we respect each other, love God and do our best to honor his will for our lives.
