When the Black Panther Party came to the fore in the 1960's, I was working at a San Francisco Child Care Center. It was because of the Panther Breakfast program that my center, located in the black community of what was left in the Fillmore, began to serve breakfast, too. A good program can transfer to a not so good school. Fed kids do a lot better in school. (Fed teachers, too).
Ya, Al Capone used to fund soup kitchens. Does that excuse him of all his crimes??? Wake the phk up, sandra.
