Seven Spires’ new album is “SOLVEIG”, a theatrical metal concept album in two acts. It is the story of a lost soul and his journey through a Demon’s sunless neo-victorian underworld. Despite small glimmers of hope, it is a grim tale with a heavy focus on escapism, death, and decadence. With distinct attention to melancholic power metal, melodic death, and black metal, Seven Spires fuse sounds from across the spectrum of metal with their great love for Romantic composers, and the atmospheric and storytelling capabilities of film scores. The strict operatic singing that is often found in the symphonic corner of metal is more of a spice than a staple for Seven Spires - vocalist Adrienne Cowan’s metal roots lie with Rob Halford, Roy Khan, and Shagrath.
“Solveig” will be available worldwide on August 4, 2017!

Same reason why Epica is not as famous as Nightwish. Most people can't appreciate harsh vocals or a bit heavier music.
Even so-called "metalheads" who listen primarily to symphonic metal. They love Nightwish but then.... oh oh, Epica use harsh vocals, I can't listen to it!
For me personally, if Adrienne only used her clean vocals, I wouldn't find it very interesting.

Put then on your social media and drop to music groups. I try to do that. The band is fantastic!
You make a good point, as for Nightwish I cant for the life on me get into them it's like "manufactured" sounding but soooooo many people love them then you show them Seven Spires, Blackbriar, Ignea, Cellar Darling and many others and they just turn their nose up to it. For me the bands I mentioned and others are much better. Theres more real emotion and passion behind it, regardless of harsh vocals or clean. That's okay though at least we get to enjoy them.

1:50 This part reminds of the days when ICS Vortex was a member of Dimmu Borgir , But the fact that Adrienne can do both types of vocals is really mind blowing , What a great talent

I was thinking the same thing. I thought "Why do I like this part?" Then realized it sounds very similar to ICS Vortex vocals at 1:10 in "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse".

Saw & met Seven Spires this week and Adrienne should be crowned Queen of all metal singers, she is amazing and does the orchestration for the band as well! And she is a sweet person too and we shouldn't forget the rest of the band who are all absolutely amazing players!!! Jack, Peter & Chris are cool guys and kill it! Great band and I hope they breakthrough to bigger and better things!

Fell in love with Adrienne's voice listening to Die Just a Little, by Masters of Ceremony. Great vocal technique, amazing how she can growl, scream, belt and sing with clean voice. Congrats.

This song is an absolute masterpiece. So melodic, catchy, and memorable. I will always love and appreciate it, and regard it as one of those hit gems from the obscure recesses of extreme metal. The lyrics are also extremely intelligent and deep. Like mind-blowingly so, some of the most awe-inspiring and deeply spiritual lyrics I've ever read. They show a depth of philosophical understanding and humility that few will ever grasp. Brooding existentialist angst and rational mysticism in the vein godless eastern philosophy. It's abundantly obvious that this was conceived by a fully awake, humble, and conscious being, and I just want the author(s) to know that I totally and completely get it, every single word and nuance, the passion, insight. The yearning for understanding, meaning, and the void. Brilliant beyond words. Namaste. ❤💯💥

If there is any devil, he will abandon & resign after having seen this video. ADRIENNE will teach him to fear her. This song from the debut is amazing, so full of energy and dark harmonies. The whole band is fantastic, the clean guitar solo is a fine contrast to this blast of a tempest. ADRIENNE opens the gates of hell. And closes them when she returns.
Having bought your new CD "Emerald Seas", I am 100% convinced by this band. I heard it today (6th of July 2020) and I must confess:
This is one of the best Metal / Progressive Albums of the last ten years. Amazing songs, wonderful harmonies, the huge range of ADRIENNE's voice from heaven to hell, her passion & fervor in singing these tunes. And the band is so skillful and talented. The production of JACK was perfect, the mix of SASCHA PAETH fits best. "Emerald Seas" is an outstanding over-the-top release. I wish you success - success - success.

It's great to hear a Boston band sound so legitimately "European". Everyone seems to mention similarities to Dimmu Borgir, but I'm hearing more Emperor in the violin and string sections. And I'd say the guitarist's riffing is more similar to Ihsahn than Silenoz. Very cool.

Serpentine Offering 2.0 the vocal line of the clean part at 1.53 is like siamese twin to the original piece. hence the cover is so great as well. Nonetheless I dig this not just because she's pretty much smoking hot.

Hey guys, I have just found you, really by chance just because my youtube suggested me a Nightwish cover performed by Adrienne and click by click I found your band. I must say I AM impressed. Do you play anything really new? No. Do you play it with rare passion, energy? Freaking yes! Do you convey emotions with your songs and your playing style? Fucking yes! I think you are one of the very few bands that bring some freshness into the heavy metal scene nowadays.
One note besides: hail to Adrienne. Soprano, power metal vocal extension, growling and screaming. Excelling in all of these styles. Down on my knees for this. And a real punch into the face of who says that grunters, death metala and black metal vocalists are no singer.
I'll be your friend for a beer. Won't stay over long though because this paint needs to be observed whilst in its drying stage.

Never really been one for black metal, or black metal sounding stuff. But this is something special. Adrienne you're actually also getting me into Dimmu Borgir
Same. I rarely love a song on the first listen, but this one was an exception. Something very special about it, indeed.
But this isn't really black metal. Apart from similar sort of vocals in this particular song.
Because the album as a whole goes through different vocal styles (mainly clean), and would be a bit tricky to categorize, although I'd say the closest genre it would fit in would be progressive metal, with some symphonic metal, and then some death and/or black sprinkled in as well.
Pretty much most if not all black metal I've heard sounds rubbish. Seven Spires is something much more I think.
You need contrast when singing with harsh vocals. If it's just harsh vocals the whole time it loses it's impact. That's probably one of the reasons why many death and black metal bands suck.
@@OheyBro there are many bands for me that only use harsh vocals and I class as exceptional. Bit it has to be done right. Musically as well as vocally.
Lamb of god are a fantastic example.
As for Seven spires being more progessive/symphonic with some death/black thrown in .... That's prob why I like it so much.
I love those styles mixed together.
