"Manuals are too complicated, I like automatic!" Freiburger: "Here's the B&M Pro Stick and here's all the instructions. Also I'll make you a video."
I've watched this video twice now and i don't know where i live anymore
It's complicated to keep you from accidentally shifting the way you want.
I love all the instructions written everywhere
“Oh, the red button there.
Don't ever, ever touch it.”
-Agent K
Remember the little red button?
Yea.
Push the little red button....and ya might wanna put on a seatbelt.
For those who thought a 5 speed manual was an "anti theft" device...
Ones road legal, the other is a dedicated drag transmission that likely doesn’t daily drive well. What’s the point
@@dylanzrim1011 there's nothing wrong with driving a manual valve body on the street, the only thing that makes this trans less streetable is a high stall converter, but you can get away with it
@dylanzrim1011 I daily a fmvb everyday. It's easy to do.
So now everytime the Camaro gets shipped by a new truck driver they have a video to show the driver so they can unload it.
That’s the reason I did this. Tired of trying to explain it over the phone. Now I can drop a link to this video.
Awesome Video Dave !!!
I've got a 72 Chevy Camaro with a reverse manual valve body and Hurst Quarter stick also . It also has a Pro Tree Transbrake . This is the only thing I hate . Try backing up with one one hand on the shifter and the other hand on the Transbrake . Now add in a Spool in the rear axle makes for a fun Street car
Now this is a little different than most transmissions. First off, drive doesn't work but 3rd does, neutral is park, reverse is 2nd. If you wanna use reverse, put it in drive. And the accelerator sticks too, so be careful. But dont be afraid of it. Ya gotta give it to er or she's gonna stall.
It's time. It's been 5 months Freiburger. You're killing me.
Can you explain how the red button detonates the transmission?
It’s a trans brake. It locks first and reverse together when the trans is in a forward gear.
That and bnm are same and are nicest shifters
More with the Crusher please :)
I love this short stuff Dave. Nuggets of Knowledge.
Thanks for the rundown good sir :)
But he's wrong when he triggered it to shift from 2-1. There's no need.
So, the system behind this shifting is: you can never switch 2 gears with one movement. Do you agree?
Ist to second is a single action.
@@watsisbuttndo829 1st to 2nd is also only one gear switch. He said 2 gears, as in 1st INTO 2nd INTO 3rd in ONE movement.
@@ArthurSperotto ah yes, i see what hes saying now. Agreed.
This is David's distance learning episode for Finnegan before the Crusher Camaro was shipped out to Georgia.
I never liked automatic transmissions, but that thing makes the right sounds... The shifting pattern would probably make a bit more sense with four speeds, right? neutral first - second third fourth - and keep it exactly the same for the downshift...
Love my pistol grip Quarter Stick. 👍🏻
For all of you saying not to hit the button on the shifter first of all that button in a race car or a performance car is 99.9999% of the time used as your line lock switch,
The Transbrake switch 99.9999% of the time is on the steering wheel or within reach, And with a Probrake Transbrake valve body hitting reverse by mistake won't affect a thing as reverse won't engage unless transmission is put into Reverse AND the Transbrake button is pushed
The factory ratchet in my Laguna was awesome : ] and super easy !
Hope you and your crew all good Dave !
Frieburger more 4 wheeling videos !!!cmon buddy you know you love jeeps!
The crusher is my favorite! The coolest version was the 80s blown big-block look with the skinnies in the front and the fatties in the back
Cool thanks Freiburger!
MORE OF THESE PLEASE!
Must be on the crusher camaro, i remember those gauges and interior on RKG

Good man
You didn't say you gotta squeeze the lever to get it from 2nd to 1st but I see ya Mr.David. #BecauseRoadkill
Thanks David!
That's really cool! I want to ask some questions about the transmission in your latest video. Can you please turn on the comments for that video. Commenting is turned off
I think a lot of your "OG" Roadkill fans would greatly appreciate why the uploads of Roadkill Extras have been discontinued. It was one of the most popular things there and a main reason why a lot of us subscribe. If we don't see updates on that, or Roadkill Garage, I'm quite sure you might see a lot of us signing off from our otherwise loyal subscription.
I'm aware that there's a lot of content in general, but all the Roadkill stuff is what we came from, not all the mediocre junk from Discovery.
Please address this. Thank you.
Miss seeing your videos dog!!
Good job Frieburger but I'll need to make a couple passes in the car to really get it, I think! Grin
Can you or do you have to down shift like a stick shift. like in turns or at stops. I want a stick shift like setup but im not converting my car to a stick
More Videos Please!!!!
What no pitch for a t-shirt.?
Hey Dave...I know this is a weird place to ask..but who's working from home has the most views ? Thanks !!
David, did you work at Car Craft when they did the Magnum Force Dodge?
What Centerline wheel did that use?
I don't think they were the Pro Stock, these were brushed aluminum with holes.
From now on, no more Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, Engine Masters or the like for anyone outside the US. I hope you are happy. I blame you as part of it, as you are one of the people in the company who have accepted the deal with Discovery. What a way to screw over fans that paid and watched everything you guys created.
This shifter is designed so you dont miss a shift. Is this preferable to a ratchet shifter?
That sounds exhausting
Buddy I have a pro ratchet automatic part #80842 and a pro ratchet shift noid part #254-SN-5070........do I have to do any modifications to shifter?
Do you have to down shift the 80842 like a manual? Like going through turns or stopping. I want to shift like a manual but I'm not about to drop the money to convert my car to manual
why dont you hang out with Finnigan anymore?
Pandemic?
Because Georgia is so far way and Pan-Am doesn't fly anymore?
Real question why isn't the cage painted?
What do you think about kilduff shifters
Quick n easy!
And some people think an electronic dial is complicated 🤦♂️😂😂
Grab on with both hands and pull with all your might.
I can't imagine an emergency situation going well with this level of shift complexity. Train all you want. When adrenaline squirts, you're hittin' or blowing something for sure.
Now show us a a powershift with the COVID 350!
The flip flop warrior !
Where is stubby bob ?
Grethings from germany!
You youngsters....the Quicksilver is THE shifter........any questions?......
Hey Frieburger, anyway your can help out 4 speed films to get a podcast going? Im sure you know Aaron Kahan from Burbank Choppers
But in the fast and furious films they have 17 gears
whares your lemullets videos ?
NEVER Press the red buttonon the shifter while moving forward. You will Break the transmission.
I just like to use a ratchet shifter instead
Paper notes? Surprised it's not cardboard! =D
Bravissimo!!!
....I think I'll just stick with a Pro Matic 2.
Reminds me of Ricky from Trailer Park Boys explaining how to shift the shitmobile

I love these videos. Perfect for a quick break at work so I can get my Freiburger fix.
Okay
On Google it says David is 71 is he really??
Word
All good until you 60' and pull 2nd by accident... ask me how I know😂
Thongs! Really.

Gotcha!! Not interested
@Uncle Tony’s Garage called you out. I was a big fan of his till he started to so how full of Bologna he is. But I stopped watching him when he started to crap on smaller channels like Lamb chops world, tall johns fun shop, and lunar outlaws garage. His 318 build was a mess and instead of taking any responsibility he pushes the blame on everyone else there including his own friend. It took Nick from @Nick‘s garage an @LunarOutlaw’s Garage make that 318 run properly. The guy doesn’t even know how to use a plastigauge please show him how the pros do it.
I'm trying to install it but instruction is very much confusing
Eww, what a horrible shifter and pattern.
It’s actually the best
@@TheDavidFreiburger It's a shifter that's been around forever, but don't confuse being comfortable with it to thinking it's the best. That shift pattern has you going back through 2nd/1st to get back to neutral if something goes wrong at the big end of the track. Though likely stuck with that bad pattern due to the trans brake manufacturer the transmission suppler uses. In short the fact that you made this video says even you know how goofy the setup is to use when it comes down to it.
@@warhound7781 out of curiosity, how much weed did you smoke before coming to this conclusion? The only slight point you brought up was the not being able to go right away from third to neutral, but that's a very moot point, because all you would have to do is hold the lever down, and slam it forward.. can do that just about as hard as you want to.. remember the reverse lockout that he was talking about? That let's you slam it as hard as you want to into neutral, and not have to worry about going into reverse..
Stick to figuring out which color crayon tastes best dude..
