Thankyou for interviewing my dear friends Bruce &Thelma, what they didn’t tell you, on their first Bass Strait crossing in 2013 they left Eden about 12hrs behind me with a shortish weather window to Tassie. I got hit with 40knots westerly off Flinders Island, struggled for 12hrs,3reefs in main, to Wineglass Bay. Tui being a lot slower was stuck out there for 5 days hanging to their parachute anchor, in horrendous weather, eventually making land @ St.Helens. Bruce & Thelma on little Tui did tremendously with very little incident, displaying outstanding seamanship. Thankyou for the video.
Yeah Alan. Must have been crook. I've been out there on a parachute in 50knts. It was pretty awful and Peggy-Anne is a fair bit bigger. Don't want to do that again.
Ive been living on my 26 foot tasman now for over 15 years...only problem in NSW maritime ..who hound you like your a dog..best to keep saiing and moving around..and dont bring attetion to yourself...also dont hang around hobos who only anchor there boats and never sail or youll be a marked man

Thanks for sharing Norm. It gives me something to look forward to. I starting my new build next week. So excited :-)
Exciting stuff. Have fun with the build.
When I was Commercial Fishing we always had an old saying..."No matter how big your boat is, the further out you go, the smaller it gets."
Your right on. 30' boat looks big at the dock, however 125 miles off shore, it feels small. Especially if the weather is shitty.
Very true dude.
Yep.
Met them on the way down, fantastic people, hope Thelma,s health is good.
Yep. Thelma seems to be firing on all fours dude.
