Yes! Been rocking the Lumix 20mm 1.7 pancake for 10 years and have never been disappointed. It's wide enough for groups and long enough for portraits. It has a realism that says, "you are here." Now considering a Ricoh GR IIIx for true pocketability.
I'll go with my 55-250mm any day over a prime personally. I just like the versatility of being able to switch focal lengths in a snap, but I think it also depends heavily on the type of photography you are doing. Great vid 😁
@@jasonpchen It gives a lot of freedom for some different types of shots and adds some challenge. I mainly focus on outdoor photography, with a little street photography on occasion. I highly recommend trying it out if you ever get the chance.
thanks for the effort and the sharing. i am currently exploring the 40mm with the EOS R + RF adapter. i have a family event coming up-graduation-and i am going to need something wider than my 50/1.4. i played with my very old 35/2 EF and just did not love the sharpness on the EOS R and thus, the EF 40/2.8. i did a short walkabout, kept everything at 2.8 and was surprised by how well the images turned out. thumbs up.
My 40mm is one of a few reasons ive never sold my 6D, I have big hands and I love that native feel. Not too much of a fan of it on my RF bodies, then it just draws attention with the bulkyness, and the ergonomic factor loses its flair, but then its the same size as my rf24, so it cant be that bad. Thanks for the video.
Currently I own the Nikon 40mm f2 and use it on my Nikon Z5. I am trying to figure out it's best purpose, but I keep going back to my 35mm f1.8 and 85mm f1.8 lenses. A 50mm f1.2 might be the lens I need to satisfy my eyes.
I used to use the GoPro magnetic swivel clip and just clip them on my sternum strap, which is also what I used in this video, but recently I've been using Snap Mount. It's magnetic and it's a lot easier to work with imo. Btw, thanks for the sub!
Hi Armin thanks for pointing this out. I just activated the PayPal function in Gumroad so you should be able to get the preset via PayPal. Thanks for the support!
@@jasonpchen my favorite focal length is 50mm on FF but q lot of times is toot tight for some shoots specially inside. For everyday carry as the Ricoh I think is better 28 but it is too close to the iPhone.

Yeah for real and "you are here" perfectly describes how it feels like
I miss that lens with the gx85 so much

Yeah 40mm pancake lens is so underrated. Still really good with the RF adapter. and the price is just unbeatable!
I use it a lot with my r6.
It's an amazing lens with the mirrorless bodies.
High quality images for a simple lens review. Good job
Thank you (:

I wanna buy this lens for my eos R, looks small and easy to carry. Tq for the video 😊
It really is! I am sure you'll have lots of fun with it (:
I hope canon puts out another 40mm pancake for the RF mount
Yes that would be amazing!
I just bought the 40mm summicron, it's insane !
40mm is an interesting focal length, and I always feel like it’s either a bit too wide or a bit too narrow - but when you get that sweet spot… 🤙🏼
Haha FR!
The photographer motto "I don't really thing I'm supposed to be here" - goes in anyway :D
But also I love the vids.. I'll sub on my film channel as well!
🤣🤣🤣 yep

Nikon 40mm f2 sounds great with the Z5 but yea 50mm is very well rounded. Might be the one you are looking for
Great video, love the quality of both the content and the content information, hope to see more! 👌🏻🙌🏼
Thank you so much! 🙏
Great video man!
Thanks for watching!
what are you using to attach the GoPro in the dead centre at breast level? cool videos subscribed.

35mm is my favorite but 35 40 50 any one of them and all is good.
Couldn't agree more!
Brother which one is the best canon 24mm pancake lens or 40mm pancake canon lens.
depends on what and how you shoot
i love your photos 🔥
Thanks Tan!

What would you prefer the Ricoh griii or the griiix?
Ahh been thinking about this a lot lately. I think from where I am at right now I’d go with the iiix. What about you?

I have the option to buy Konica Hexanon 40mm for 30 bucks... Ummm, the algorithm knows something
Hahaha that's perfect and $30 sounds like a steal!
"That wasn't me, someone else did that, so I just kinda drove in." What a tosser.
