- In this video, I go over the uniform history from the Seattle SuperSonics and all the way to the Oklahoma City Thunder. There were plenty of jerseys in this history and I pretty much compiled this together myself because there really is no record of what jerseys were used in what year.
In the first two seasons, they used the sonics with the star as the i jerseys.
In the next 3 seasons, they used the cursive yellow and green jerseys.
In the next season, they changed to the 70's looking jerseys that were only around for one season.
In the next season, they used the regular plain font print. They used those for 4 years.
In the next season, they changed to the arc jerseys with the plain font in the arc. They used those for 15 total seasons.
In the next season, they changed to the Gary Payton Shawn Kemp era championship jerseys.
After that, they changed to the Ray Allen Kevin Durant era jerseys.
Once the Sonics left for OKC, they had the original jerseys for the first two seasons, then changed to the current day jerseys which just removed the pull tab from the neck.
Thank you guys so much for watching and if you need any more information or have any other information please let me know! I think this may be the only full uniform history video out there for these two teams together.

They are not the same Franchise. Don't group them together.
The Sonics alternate yellow and white mid-2000's jerseys (NOT the retros!) and the OKC navy blue alternates were always my 2 favorites
Adam Silver need to bring back the Seattle Supersonics
0:51 Henry Akin #10; 1:00 Dorie Murrey #41 & Walt Hazzard #42; 1:22 Jim McDaniels #44; 1:40 John Brisker #40; 1:47 Spencer Haywood #24; 2:00 Slick Watts #13; 2:04 Mike Green #23; 3:04 Xavier McDaniel #34; 3:38 Michael Cage #44;
Loved the video man!!! I'm glad you were able to do this!! I actually have the yellow alternate sonics Kevin Durant video.
loved those 95-96 jersey's
4:37 they played in the 1996 finals not the 1995
Jackson fried plus the finals jersey was from 95.96 season
I’m a Washington state native and Seattle sports guy through and through. Basketball and the Sonics were my first sports love and I remember the nostalgia of watching them during the glory years growing up in the 90s it was one of the highlights of my childhood. So seeing them lumped together with the bullsh*t abomination known as the OKC thunder is always like a nice kick in the nuts, thanks. Now let’s watch all the 5 year olds who don’t get it respond with “drrrr it’s the same franchise”
The white Nike throwback is a Nike Rewind swingman that came out in the early 2000s. There were a bunch of throwback jerseys for a variety of teams that were designed to look similar to jerseys of a past era but with different colours and/or the current (at the time) colours and players. Nike also came out with Lakers throwback jerseys inspired by what they wore in 1957, but the Nike '57 throwback was purple and gold and the actual 1957 jersey it was based on would have been pale blue and white. The Ray Allen jersey is based on the 1971 away jersey but with inverted colours.
I liked the 95 Sonic's jersey but I wish the colours were green and yellow.
i know im asking randomly but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account?
I somehow lost my login password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@David Patrick Instablaster =)
Lol the thunders have to be one of, if not the most hated team in the nba by fans cause everybody prefers the Sonics 🤣 and damnit I dont blame them
Gio 😆
It’s funny how the whole Sonics era portion is all(well…mostly) these awesome looking classic uniforms that we know and love, and then it switches to the OKC uniforms that are all just ugly AF lol.
It’s a small detail but you were mistaken about one thing. You said they were in the 1995 finals against the bulls. The 95 finals was rockets vs magic and the Sonics were still wearing their green and yellow arc uniforms that year. The Sonics and bulls was the 96 finals which was the first year of the new uniforms with the maroon added.
The Sonics and Thunder are not together.
Oh yes they are. NBA officially recognizes the SuperSonics and Thunder as the same franchise until Seattle gets a team again.
nice vid, make more jersey videos it's quite interesting and very different to football/soccer where they change the jersey every season
Do one on the Lakers
their best playoff year was 72 cuz they had a legend i love being wilt chamberlain
1978 - 1995 season, did they also had that black jersey? I see some in nba store.
You are wrong. Sonics alternate red jersey date was (1999-2001). For two seasons: It is for the 1999-2000 season and the 2000-2001 season they had those red alternate jerseys.
the sonics best playoff years were #1 1979 #2 1980 #3 1978 #4 1987 #5 1996 + #6 1993
The last sonics jersey started only at 2001-2002 season
I miss the all orange jersey but fucking Nike came along
Do some people not understand the sonics moved to thunder? Cuz they did.
Vasty Andrews they’re mad
It's 2001-02 on Ray Allen era jersey not 2000-01 seasons that's Patrick Ewing wear red green and yellow jersey still
You're right. My bad on that one. I usually follow what SportsLogos.net has, with my own interpretations, and just missed that one. Good spot.
I have been debating on picking up a red sonics alternate jersey, and I knew that Ewing was on the team, just kinda forgot (like everyone does). I think I know my next purchase...
Do the spurs next?
their best playoff year was 95
bro can you do the cavs
the cavs best playoff year was 92
Make one about the magic
their best playoff years were 95 + 96
2:38 WOAH WOAH
Just the way Mason likes it
The Thunder ARE NOT the Sonics . Sure they try to ride on Sonic coat tail but it's just not that easy . Seattle supported their franchise for decades to build that name . It's just not something that can be bought or sold . RIP Seattle SuperSonics . Stabbed in the back by Politicians & a rich weasel .
They technically are the same franchise....
@@wolfchrt Unfortunately, no real basketball fan accepts that fact
@@robertwest4596 They better learn accept reality. Most of them probably too toung to remember
We’ll get a team back here in Seattle again where the nba never should’ve left in the first place and it’ll be yet another home grown, born and bred in our city franchise which is something Oklahoma sh*tty will never get to experience having cause no pro sport willingly wants to exist in that butthole of a place. Here in Seattle we don’t have to steal teams in order to have anything 😂
Do the 76ers and the nuggets
the nuggest best playoff year was 85
the 76ers best playoff year was 67 cuz of a legend i love being wilt chamberlain
If you like sports jerseys then I sell sports jerseys. I sell every players jerseys with perfect quality. I appreciate all the support.
I want one
You forgot one jersey bro
which one?
Check your messages.
Do the bucks
their best playoff year was 71 cuz they had a legend i love being lew alcindor
Not for biased reasons but the Thunder jersey designs are really Doll really uncreative the Sonics green and yellow was cool also much better designs the 2000s Sixers Jerseys were dope asf too back in the day when AI Mutombo or Kyle korver and Iggy player there
The Sonics uniforms were all really bad could’ve done a lot better they had good colors in the green yellow and white tho
I thought they were all beautiful
Please don’t ever put these teams together again
