    Ed is simply a godsend to the 6.0 community! Spent many hours and thousands of dollars to get to a place like he says. Not to sell you something you don't need but what you need to succeed with your truck.

    I don't think its squirrel brain... Ed needs three mouths and mics at the same time. I can almost see the multiple thoughts cooking in his head as he tries to shuffle to the most efficient and proper answer. More than eilling to tell it all.
    A lot of us in the 6.0 truck world thank you greatly Ed. I sure do. What a great family business that offers innovation on the regular, and top quality products with superior customer service skills to boot.
    I'll always recommend this outfit to my customers when they need upgrades or information. Top notch in my opinion and experience.
    I love his enthusiasm for the diy people, and the encouragement to get it done right the first time. Also for the professionals in the business just the same. Thats my favorite thing about this guy. Very transparent in his ambition to help. He's the best at this game.
    You da man brother! Thanks again Ed!
    Thanks to diesel podcast for bringing attention to this awesome product, the owner of ficm repair, and helping us truck guys out here time and time again.
    Hats off to the whole lot!

    We use the webasto coolant heaters on our semi trucks. They work on a programable timer so it gets the coolant and block up to temp before start up. It draws fuel from the truck tanks. Your product sounds great for smaller applications.

    Around 7:30 your guest says you will save on DEF because you won’t need to go into regen as often so the truck will use less DEF. My understanding is that DEF is used for SCR, not DPF regen. I think diesel fuel is used during regen. I believe DPF and SCR are 2 different systems. Correct me if I’m wrong but it was bugging me so I had to comment. I apologize for pointing that out. It does sound like a good product. My 2018 power stroke takes several miles before I’m getting good heat in the winter. Love the podcast and the guest.

      The analogy here could have been better for sure! DEF is used for SCR, but it's use has to do with fuel usage. Burn more fuel, use more DEF. Burn less fuel, use less DEF.

      Higher exhaust temperatures during regen generate more nox. So you need more def during that time to mitigate that.

    I'm picking up trade men at diferent stops in the early morning some mornings its minis temp some mornings are getting in the high double fidgets but I have an aftermarket high idle runs at about 1500 rpm that is fine in cold temp and will get the fan rotating in the warm wether and slaps the oil around the cylinders. So why would this be better?

    • @USADiesel
      @USADiesel 9 месяцев назад

      Running at 1500rpm will absolutely generate more heat than running at idle, but it also burns more fuel while not generating NEARLY as much heat as the LHG which will in turn allow the engine to run more efficiently. This is also an automatic solution that watches engine temps and kicks in when it needs to!

      Right?? Stop using grocery-getters for sure! But...short of changing people's habits, we have this! That said, EVEN IF people do work their trucks, they still subject them to excessive idling. This product dynamically protects people from themselves, lol.
