Not related to the video, but I wanna ask a question to runners here: in October of this year there's one 10.4k road race (yes, 10 400m) that I wanna participate in. The actual course is near to where I live and I've train on it and made some time trials. My best ever was 56mins. last year, but since then I've lost fitness (lack of motivation, some minor injuries too) and got up to 1:01hr. My question is, with the time that is left how much can I realistically improve my time? Little info: I'm not a total newbie in running, just I'm not talented, hence the slow times. My first few tries at running 10k were a fails, couldn't finish it without resorting to walking and after that I remember I was running it in way above 1hr.

Honestly, the common wisdom among runners is that to get faster, you need to run more miles. Not necessarily fast miles, but just increasing your weekly mileage. There are tons of training programs available on the internet, but I can try to summarize them for you on here.
First, as I said, you need to run more. Run slowly and build your stamina and overall endurance. Try to run at least 3 days a week. You should realistically get comfortable running that 10K distance. Doesn't have to be fast, but it should be easy at the end of your training cycle.
Second, incorporate some speed workouts. Try doing 10 x 1K intervals, where you run faster than your best 10K pace for 1K, and then slowly jog or walk for a bit before doing the 1K again.
Third, you still have 6 months to train for this race. A typically marathon training block is around 4 months. For the time being, just get out there and run. Don't think about getting faster, but just get back into shape. Make running your habit again.

@@keiffactory Thanks for the tip, Jay! My favourite workout is the long run and I really don't like faster workouts, but it seems I can't get away without doing them if I want some real improvement. :(
