- Speed Racer at Thunderhead: Clockwise Long on Wii (U). I've never been particularly good with the Mach 6, only driving it about 15 times over a whole decade. I used to play as Cannonball/GRX back in the day, but prefer Booster Mbube/Surge Box now. But to keep the tradition that Ashley the Fox and Shawn S set before me, I gotta do this one first.
This is my favorite game of all time and I'm glad I was finally able to afford a capture card so I can share it with the world!!! My main goal here is to show y'all what the game is really like, without any commentary or anything like that. I'm pretty much replicating what Shawn S did with his videos before his channel got nuked. RIP.
Keep an eye out for more SRtVG-related content, and maybe some Mario Kart Wii stuff. I'm working on installing CTGP, so that should be interesting. Can't be sure about commentary for that though. I want to commentate, but I'm not sure about the sound situation. I wanna hear the game but I don't want an echo on the mic.

Gotta be honest, the game seems kinda nice, holds up a bit from what I remember it was when I was young and dumb, but it seriously does not match the movie's flare; sorry, but that movie's visuals are just FIRE. I guess it was the time's limitations, though; if the game was redone nowadays, surely it'd look amazing.
That's why I'm really hoping they remaster this game one day. There is the tech in games now to really make it feel like the movie. It probably won't happen though since speed racer is basically dead now.

@@bend7726 It was getting a remaster for PS3, but was ditched mid process. There are some pics on the internet of how it was looking and it was a lot like the movie.

This track is very elaborate for a movie tie-in racing game. Totally understand why I played it for a few months.

Could you make a sort of comparison between the track in the game and the track of the movie, like trying to find if it’s truly based on the movie concept
I've wanted to do that for a while but I'm not quite sure how aside from just looking at it for a long time.
I know there are some similar parts, some different parts, and some modified parts. The spear-hook jump on Fuji is there, so is the loop, and the crash section on Grand Prix is more or less there. The rapid turns on Thunderhead are probably supposed to represent the halfpipe-bowl-looking things.
Fireheart318 Have you tried looking the concepts in the supercharged “movie” I think that thing has information regarding some tracks, at least Fuji, Thunderhead and The Grand Prix :)

I've recreated Thunderheads from the movie almost perfectly accurate. And from my perspective, the Long clockwise is the most movie accurate Thunderheads in the game. As for Fuji, the island lay out seems to be the same as the movie but thats it. The island and volcano is a bit small and the track layout are less movie accurate than Thunderheads.
Not disappointed about you coming in third place. Even though Taejo Togokahn is another good guy 'cause he came in first place, then another hero deserves to win.
I want a remaster of this.

PS2 version has more easy controls button-wise but gameplay is not as great as Wii version.....at least in my experience and what I've seen from other video sources.

Yeah, I saw that too. The game kinda pulls you in when you jump over other cars to make landing smack-downs easier. It REALLY grabbed me at 5:45. That’s the moment I lost imo (well, that and when Trixie “accidentally” attacked me. That jump there was an attempt to recover. In hindsight, it probably should’ve been a spin instead)
