I was on that cruise with you - my first gay cruise and I couldn't say enough good things about it. The only negative is that the experience ruined the thought of me ever wanting to take a straight cruise again! The whole Vacaya experience was incredible from start to finish - highly recommended!!
Omg, THANK YOU. I was wondering about this. It seems like fun, and I’d say it has its moments, but I’m also worried about it just being a TON of bottoms, effeminate men, swishy Pete’s, and over-exaggerated lisps, etc. NOW LISTEN UP! There is nothing wrong if that is who you are! BUT there is something wrong if I can’t just be who I am! I’M GAY TOO! I want to be seen too! I want to go on a gay cruise because it’s an area of my life I want representation in. My issue is that gay pride, pride magazines, and nearly anything LGBTQIA+ related only features effeminate men. It’s a subtle buzz that lives just beneath the surface. If you call it out you’re “picking a fight” but if you ignore it you’re “not gay enough”. It’s literally exhausting and honestly why I distance myself from the gay community. It feels like small town politics and as someone who is living and currently trying to escape from West Virginia, I don’t need any more of that.
This was very interesting! My husband & I have discussed going on a gay cruise, but have always been hesitant because we assumed that it was a hookup ship. Interesting takes on the experience. Thanks for sharing this.
Ah ya, I think it also depends which company you go with. I hear that the Atlantis ones are younger and more party party so definitely not all gay cruises are the same... I might have to try them all for proper research! lol
@@JoshRimer really excited love you guys gay cruise sounds great 👍 I would love to go on one my name is Chetan I am gay too such beautiful guys lovely friends you have so cute
I booked it as a single man 1 year in advance but was then in a relationship shortly before it started. Damn it :) That was 8 years ago and we are still together ^^
Hi Josh, I watched this video for the first time, and I think you are doing some very interesting things. I guess I am in it, I am your new subscriber. What interesting things can visitors do in Vancouver on the fall season? ❤from Ohio
Hi Josh, great video. Too bad we didn't get to meet on board the cruise. We have documented our experience on VACAYA with daily Vlogs from the cruise as well. We actually met as single cruisers back in 2015 on RSVP and now we travel as a couple and LOVE it!
My boyfriend and I go on cruises. We do things together and we also do things on our own as well. If there is some sort of dance party I will go by myself as he doesn't like that kinda thing. But he will do things on his own as well that I am not interested in. But we will always have meals together no matter what and will usually head to bed at the same time. He is also more outgoing and will just make friends with anyone. I hope you had a blast on the cruise Josh and I am looking forward to your video.
Oh nice. That sounds like me and Heath for the most part too. It's nice to have your own things you like to do, his own things he likes to do, and then all the other stuff to do together.
So....I've never been on a cruise. I'm 59 years old....I've been out for 40 years. My bf of just over a year is 22 years old and has been out for less than 2 years. I've taken him to his first Pride Festival (Atlanta Pride), His first gay beach (Pensacola Beach area). I'm wanting him to experience so much and enjoy himself as he goes places and can be himself in public. We have book Gay Days Disney World 2020 at Margaritaville Resort, the host hotel, this year. I've will be experiencing this for the first time myself. He's been on several straight cruises with his family. We've discussed just a regular straight cruise. And we have briefly talked about a gay cruise. But, do you see many older/younger couples on a gay cruise? We can both be very social and talkative with most anyone. What are the percentages of younger, middle-aged, older guys....I am certainly not his sugar-daddy and I am certainly NOT paying someone to come on a cruise with me as "company". I think that would upset him terribly if that is the way we were looked upon by others on the cruise. (I KNOW gay men can be judgemental....it's in our genes....I've been out for 40 years LOL) Would my first cruise period and our first cruise together be more enjoyable on a straight cruise and then "graduate" to a gay cruise.....inquiring minds want to know?
I can't say I really paid enough attention to notice relationship age gaps, but I assume there must have been some... honestly, I'd think you would both have a much better time on a gay cruise. I've never been on a a straight one, but every person I asked who had said it's not nearly as fun and very different. You might get the odd joke or something after getting to know some people on a gay cruise, but beyond that you'd be very accepted there, whereas with a straight cruise you'll have the double whammy of being gay and the age difference. Plus all of the entertainment and activities are geared toward us... it just really would be very different on a straight one so I'd highly recommend going gay and just not worrying about what anyone else might think. If someone wants to judge, so be it - meanwhile there will be a thruple over here and a polyamorous couple over there... there are all kinds of unconventional relationships that people don't feel the need to hide on a gay cruise, and I didn't see anyone outwardly judging them.
@@JoshRimer Thank you for your quick reply.....and the information. I've been a member of gay, clothing optional campgrounds for years! Even had a permanent place at one for 10 years. So, I'm pretty comfortable in all situations. I "might" just judge someone, in my mind, on their mixture of plaids and stripes....but, that would be my Southern Mother coming out in me LOL. Now, we just have to shop for the right cruise and destination!!!
I am scheduling my first gay cruise alone....and i am terrified!! Im a very outgoing person but i feel ill be so shy when im alone lol any advice on how to get over that?
I was alone on the Vacaya Ptown cruise and was happily surprised how friendly and outgoing everyone was. I made groups of friends easily that I was able to hang around with. It was the beat experience. I'm already signed up solo for their Caribbean cruise in February 2021!!
If I was an American soldier serving my country onboard an aircraft carrier and I spotted those pride flags on the unlawful sea...I'd have to salute...
Josh; You couldn't have asked for a Nicer Young Couple (Matthew & Michael) to interview ! only wish I could have gone on a Cruise, when I were physically able. }{ugs
What a small world I sub to Micheal and Matt there vid are great they do vacation vids etc. Im not sure about a gay cruise dont see the allure to it but then again havnt given it to much thought. PS maybe this might change after nxt weeks vid.
You always get that semper fidelis -- man love, If your over weight your over your prime and there shall be no manly sensual good time ! ( when you dont have a a uhm ....) mmm a part to play
Do we really need to be in an 'exclusively' gay environment to feel confident. Doesn't that just erase the meaning of being a confident individual in 'any' environment and reinforce 'non-acceptance' in the hetrosexual world. Gay cloning comes to mind - my worst nightmare.

As a gay man, being surrounded by that many gay men, single or taken, out in the open sea is terrifying!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Great video Josh. Loved listening to the different perspectives from Michael, Matt, and Ravi. They also seem live very fun people to hang out with!
They definitely are! :-D
My favorite part is at the end when we just start highfiving whoever is walking by 😂😂😂
Haha ya, and you were high fiving a single person and had to explain to Michael that you were just happy. XD

I love this video by hearing the opinion from you guys from different perspectives which is very fascinating!!! Thanks much !!!! :)
If you had added an older person into the conversation for their perspective
Ah, that's a good idea for next time... I can try to ask someone younger and someone older than me to get the different perspectives that way!

A cruise is always fun, shows, activities, food, shopping and ports to explore but a gay cruise would be like a bath house, no pun intended.
Awesome video Josh. Have fun on the cruise.

It's true. As Canadians we're contractually obligated to say hi. It's the law. (yeah, no, I couldn't do that...)
