OMG I've tried to program the new ecu so many times an was so mad I paid 216 dollars for!!!! My car is doing same things you stated so I'm going to get new keys cut cuz like you I wasn't told anything about keys !!!!! Thank you so much
Hope it work for you with me I had the old keys in the car so that was my only solution maybe that was interfering with it turns out I removed all keys and I was able to program it during the first steps of the video that's all around about this hope it work for you as well worth a try
Hey I have a question when I got my ecm they gave me instructions on how to program it to my car and it's not working did you use the new key to program it?
It still didn't work,in the instructions it says the security light should illuminate well mine only illuminates when I shut it off and lock the doors ,but there's a short in my door panel wires so we're going to re wire it and try again
Some cars do that so you did it in this order put the unprogrammed key into the ignition to the forward position but not run position for 10 minutes back it off for 5 seconds repeat that in total of three times by the fourth time it's should start remember do not have the old key in the car while programming or any keys that got a chip reader on it

Yes fresh cut and unprogrammed keys
Also don't forget to take the old keys away from the car while programming
