What we saw here was a patient, loving, supportive, knowledgeable horse woman at work. Teaching a horse who is fearful, that there was nothing to be fearful about, but it required her persistence, patience and love. And Risey responded beautifully. Well done Yvonne.🎉
Risey is a quick study. He grasped very quickly that Yvonne wanted his hooves lifted. He’ll figure out a better system for balance soon. Adapting to special situations is what gifted horses and people do. What a good boy!
This was my thought exactly. All the time Yvonne has spent working with him from the first day he came to Stahl G is really paying off now in the trust he has in her and the things she asks of him. Now it’s a matter of learning how to do things with his particular challenges. And I think they’re both doing wonderfully in that regard.
I enjoyed Risey being the star of his own video. I love Risey's ability to adapt. Your patience, and the treats, gave him the reassurance he needed. He's really learned so much since he arrived at Stal H.
Rising Star, the guardian gelding of Stal H. For many reasons he’s my favorite of your horses and I’m always impressed by the love and care you give him. Your patience and grace are aspirational.
Risey is just gorgeous! I think you are absolutely doing this the way it can be done Yvonne - little by little, showing him what you want and rewarding him. He needs your love and patience and that’s what you are giving him! He is happy and has friends and a good life.
I think this video is a demonstration in trust; I feel like Risey understands that Yvonne is not going to do anything to hurt him no matter how scary the experience may be. Such a brave boy!!
I think he continues to improve. Risey balancing on 3 legs is another milestone in his recovery. Soon, the vet may release him to work on the lunge line. I think he will continue to do better as he develops his top line and strength as he creates muscles and muscle memory.
I totally agree with you! The older woman who did one of the first adjustments on Risey improved his condition remarkably. As time goes bye, he has improved remarkably well. My hats off to Yvonne for giving him this time, but she like Risey is using time to get better herself from her accident. Their stories are in sync and Yvonne understands that fact. When Yvonne works with him it's obvious that he trust her. They have an uncommon bond these two!
Thank you so much for giving us such a nice long video of Risey. He is really a sharp horse and he learns so fast. He really seems to want to do what you ask but of course treats are a nice motivating factor.
He looks so preppy with the blanket, a true prince. He initially does not like most things but he liked the blanket faster than expected or at least did not react in an exuberant way if he did not like it. Always fun to see how much of a character contrast he is to the Friesians. You can tell he is a disciplined but has a mind of his own.
You are doing amazing with Risey. He looks good and his coat shines with your loving care. He trys so hard for you. He definitely understands that good effort and behavior gets him treats and pets. He's young and strong and so full of energy and spirit coupled with his wobblers. Making for a dangerous mix. You are so very, very careful with him, and he makes progress at his own pace. He did amazing with the blanket, especially with the dangling straps and the jingling buckles. With you, he has trust and he has come so very far because of you.
All Rising Star needs now, is the mirror in the men's department, so he can check himself out...he's lucky, it doesn't look like the jacket needs alterations...😁

The most handsome Red Prince in all of the Netherlands 🇳🇱 is thoroughly enjoying his one on one pamper session though he’s a little nervous especially about his legs which is completely understandable, the trust he has for Yvonne is deep and that goes a long way towards desensitizing him. He lowers his head at one point licking his lips slightly and chewing all signs of an equine “release” that he’s relaxing, even lifting his feet for a couple seconds is a big improvement from before when he couldn’t/didn’t want them touched, awesome teamwork and so proud of you two.🧡🤗🔥🌟🐎👏🏻
In showing pedigree collies we stand them square on all 4 feet and then you can feel the body for muscle and skin fit. I would do that to Risey just to help him balance before picking up a back foot.😊
He finds it strange and noisy the trust is there he's a beautiful horse he will get used to strange things I'm sure both of you are still healing will take time ❤
Risey is so smart. He trusts Yvonne completely and likes getting rewarded with pellets, lots of praise and of course tons of love from Yvonne. He's also a beauty! I have to admit it, he's my favorite of the herd! I love you Risey! ❤❤❤
The fact that Risey can kick very quickly is not without its risks, but it also means that despite his illness he is able to quickly find his balance on less than four legs. I think he will continue to improve in terms of his balance once he has learned Yvonne's signals to lift his legs. At the moment he still needs a little time to understand the signals.
I am praying for his healing also I truly believe that God loves all animals and that he cares for them as much as he cares for us and that God's going to bless Rising Star because we love him so much
So thankful you didn't give up on Risey. He is so stunning and beautiful it takes your breath away. He looks so healthy. I absolutely loved the spa day with Risey. RS is my Prince charming. His story is what dreams are made of. Love him. ❤❤❤
Risey did really great for his first blanketing session. He trusts you so much and he says I'll do anything for treats Mom. 🍪🐴 The blanket looks so nice on him and fits him perfectly. Such a good boy. ❤
Every time I see Risey he seems a little stronger and more steady. Yvonne is truly gifted! Not everyone could step up to the huge responsibility of running a stable and managing a horse with wobbler. It’s wonderful to watch.
Your gentleness, patience and love with Risey make all these victories possible. I still pray for Risey`s complete recovery. I`ve seen in several of Steve Young`s videos with horses that had problems having their feet cleaned, that he uses some treats that the horse can lick from a dish. For example, he would pick up a foot, then at the same time another person would give the treat to the horse. When the foot would come down, so the treat would be taken away. He repeated this process several times until the horse responded comfortably. Thank you Yvonne for all that you do. It`s amazing ! 👍💕
Yes, it's a Horslyx mini lick. He also uses a rope to lift a leg when needed, it works well because you can keep a steady pressure on the leg that you can't do using your hand & you won't get your arm broken if they do kick.
He started lifting his legs again when Yvonne was brushing his tail. I think he wants more treats. What a beautiful horse. It makes me happy to see his improvement.
It looks like he's practicing lifting his hooves while Yvonne brushes his tail. What a clever horse he is. He so wants to please.❤ He looks wonderful in the blanket 😍
I think Risey had more issues with trying to avoid hurting Yvonne than anything else. He caught on quickly and was very happy with all the treats. As soon as Yvonne puts her hands on his leg he starts to lift. He sniffs the blanket and then licks it. Keep the pellets coming and I will do anything.
SO proud of Risey, and SO proud of YOU, Yvonne ♥ You have empathy for each horse, and especially for Risey. You work with him carefully, gently and with great love. KUDOS ♥
I had been searching, for months, for a beautiful deep green blanket for Rising Star....without success!. BUT, seeing him that Special blanket, worn gently, by his family... I see he already has the perfect one already!
Horse stocks might be a good long-term solution for having Risey's hooves cared for throughout his life, lending safety to him, you, and any farriers that may come through to work on his feet. Loving to see the work you're putting into him, he's such a handsome boy.
I'm not sure if by "horse stocks" you mean a chute type enclosure where he could lean on the sides if needed. That is a good idea. I was thinking that a horse sling system (where he would have straps suspended from above) would work well. I have seen them used by rescue groups that have a weak horse that needs to be kept standing. It could be adjusted so he is still bearing his weight, but it would support him if necessary and would keep him from falling. It would help him during hoof procedures, dental work or times he might need sedation. Gail L.
I actually commented a little earlier with a similar suggestion….. I just didn’t know to refer to it as a horse stock. I have seen horses having their hooves worked on in other videos on RUclips (Working Horses With Jim). I feel Risey will need some lateral support if he has to stand for several minutes on 3 legs while a farrier has to trim his hooves. Risey is a very good natured and cooperative so I am sure Yvonne will find a way to make it work.
What a beautiful video of you and sweet Risey! You have made great progress with him, and he is smart so he cooperates as best he can. I really appreciate that you didn't just give up on him but have done all you possibly can to give him a good, quality life.
I so enjoyed sitting and watching this gorgeous horse accomplish many things. His coat is so shiny and his muscles are so defined. Gosh but he’s handsome!
Thank you so much for sharing Rising Star with us, this day..... I really enjoy seeing him learning to trust you more, and it' s so exciting, knowing there truly IS some hope for him....Wobblers be damned!
Risey is So Intelligent..... and Treat Motivated! 😂 As soon as he figured out He Got a Treat & a Good Job for doing what Momma asked. He was Ready to Show Off. His Head Shakes when he was told Good Job followed by looking for the Treat & Repeating the Task Independently... 😂❤ What a Rascal & Charmer! LOVE Their Dynamic Together!!! 💛 Love & Well Wishes from Georgia, USA.
I truly enjoyed watching this Risey Training Video! I really hope that Yvonne will share more of these! I have been REALLY curious about HOW the horses are trained to do the little things. I've seen the videos that Yvonne has posted where the Foals learn how to be patient when they are tied up, and the young horses learn how to get lounged, plus the ones where the Friesians are sent to Okkema to learn riding and driving. There are so many other things that horses must learn though. Lifting the legs for hoof maintenance is definitely one of them. Seeing how much patience and practice it took to accomplish such a small thing was really interesting to me. Risey seems to be very attentive and alert. He did a great job of following Yvonne's lead. You can tell that he is a well-bred horse, indeed. More. More. More. Please. 👁💙Friesian 🐎🐎🐎!
I think it is uncommonly generous that Yvonne, who has a lifetime of experience with horses, asks her viewers for advice and tips. There’s always something new out there, and Yvonne shows her huge heart in wanting the best information. Goedzo, or Good Show, Yvonne!
Ohhhhh Risey🌟LoVe this handsome boy❤Risey is my favorite 😊and a whole video on Risey made my day! Wowsers. Love it! 💜Helllooooo from the Gulfcoast-USA💗🐠⛱️🚤
Royal Prince Risey looks magnificent in his royal robes! And lifting his legs for Yvonne when she barely touches him proves how smart he is. I LOVED watching this, all devoted to Risey ❤ what a STAR⭐ Thank you Yvonne. Blessings 💙🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙
Yvonne, you are so patient and kind. You instinctively know how hard it is for Risey to do these things. Perhaps you can relate after recovering from your accident. You show so much love for your animals. Thank you for being you and sharing your life with me.
Imagine... an entire episode dedicated to the stunning, gorgeous, extremely handsome, sweetest, lovely Prince Risey. My chubby cheeks hurt from smiling so much as our wonderful Yvonne brushed, picked, and dressed our glorious (yes, I'm partial to the prince) Risey. He seems to be gentle with Yvonne as he towers over her. He has really grown. I remember fondly the clip where the very young Risey fell asleep with his handsome head on Yvonne's lap. He sure has grown. ❤❤❤
Well done @greghammer5321. I've been reading through the comments very much hoping for people to acknowledge the very real risk involved in caring for Risey. The vast majority of comments just keep repeating how beautiful, sweet and loved he is... I find myself worrying (not for the first time) about the pressure all this adoration could be putting on Yvonne
@@serenalloyd7295 I think yvonne is the most knowledgeable horse person I have ever met. I have seen first hand how she makes decisions. she has an inner circle of equine experts. she will do what is best for rising star and protect him(and herself) from injury as well as anyone possibly can. she can "read a horse" extremely well. hope this answer helps. he is a very happy horse. I call it "aura". the aura at stal h is very peaceful, loving, and kind. it is reflected in his nature and the nature of all her horses. I have been in stables where the horses are not calm etc due to the nature of the stable. my stable had a very calm loving atmosphere and again the horses nature and behavior reflected that.
@greghammer5321 thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to reassure me in such detail, your answer really has helped. Wonderful compliments re Yvonne and the atmosphere in Stal H from someone as knowledgeable and experienced as you are. I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said, they are the reasons I love this channel too, and it made me very happy to think of all the support Yvonne has from the inner circle of experts you mentioned as well as her obviously outstanding understanding of equine body language. Yvonne is a true star and from now on I will just trust and carry on enjoying as I have been since I first saw a breathtaking video of her and Uniek leading young horses from one pasture to another so many years ago...
Hi Yvonne listen to the birds inside the stable and how Risey is listening to them ! yes balancing on three legs good boy ! he does like chatting to himself i do love him for that ! its like i am trying mum ! OH handsome boy !! first try good boy ! He has come a long way , bit by bit , A great video My love liz xxxx
Might I suggest a horse shoeing stock to help you clean his hooves? It would give him more stability and both of you would feel more secure. Maybe Bauke can build it for you. He's grown into such a beautiful boy, all thanks to you Yvonne!
Risey is so beautiful. He's doing well with his training. Yvonne you are so good with him and all the other horses too! All you guys are in my prayers. Hoping for a miracle for him. ❤
You can really tell how he is trying his very best to work with you. Not all that long ago you could barely touch his legs, now you can already lift the front legs long enough to do some quick cleaning! Truly a blessing that this amazing horse ended up with someone who is willing to give him this time and effort!
Maybe a support contraption for you to put Risey in to support him as in teach him to lean on that so he can lift his feet and you are also protected. Kind of like those at the vets when the mares have ultrasounds. I am sure Bauke can make something for him. Thank you for caring for Risey, I have a soft side for disable beings, my first friend was a deaf and non-speaking girl, I still remember her.❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you so much for giving us such a nice long video of Risey. He is really a sharp horse and he learns so fast. He really seems to want to do what you ask but of course treats are a nice motivating factor.
Looks like his front hooves are getting a bit long. How does the farrier deal with Risey with his wobblers?
He looks so preppy with the blanket, a true prince. I so enjoyed sitting and watching this gorgeous horse accomplish many things. His coat is so shiny and his muscles are so defined. Gosh but he’s handsome!
Beautiful horse. You have done an incredible job with Risey. He looks very good and healthy. Goedzo Yvonne! ❤

Risey is a handsome man! ❤❤❤
Risey is so handsome and braaf!!! Great job Yvonne ❤️😘!!
Risey is such a handsome horse!!! He did such a great job!! He was trying so hard. He’s such a good boy!! Great video!!
Prince Risey looks even more regal in his blanket!! Beautiful!🤩 ❤🇨🇦 He’s such a quick adaptable learner!! 🥰

Whole video of Risey! I've been waiting for this! Yay!!
Risey really did well with the blanket for the first time and what a beautiful blanket it is. He is really a handsome boy.
Risey is a beautiful horse!❤️
Yvonne, you are so patient and kind. You instinctively know how hard it is for Risey to do these things. Perhaps you can relate after recovering from your accident. You show so much love for your animals. Thank you for being you and sharing your life with me.
He's so lovely. And a quick study. Well done Yvonne.
Imagine... an entire episode dedicated to the stunning, gorgeous, extremely handsome, sweetest, lovely Prince Risey. ❤❤❤
❤ All true & said so well 😊👍❤
she has to be so careful risey does not panic and fall

Risey is a beauty! He is a very good student!
Risey is so beautiful. He's doing well with his training. Yvonne you are so good with him and all the other horses too! All you guys are in my prayers. Hoping for a miracle for him. ❤
Risey grew up to be the most wonderful adopted colt. Lucky Uniek, such a great mem!
