Another great and helpful video for real-life scenarios on how this piece can help. Also appreciate the "cons" as well. Doesn't make it a deal killer, but helps knowing ahead of time what the "aforementioned" (Ha!) limitations may be. Keep barking up great videos like this G-Dog.
This video is just what I needed. I just did my first DOP gig for a short film it was so much fun. It was shot at night and I used my C100 Mk 2 some of the more experienced guys couldn't belive the quality of the image even though I was shooting at ISO 8000 at some points, there wasn't even that much noise. Follow focus will be my next investment, I need to build my "rig" next (did I use that rolight) Can you recommend a wide lense with a manually adjustable aperture? I had a 24mm prime lense but the C100 isn't good because of that auto iris button, unless there is a way to manually set the aperture? As always thanks for your videos. Looking forward to the next one.
That's so awesome Dude! Really proud of you. Way to go. I want to see it when they finish editing it. In terms of lenses, the widest I have is my Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 and I use it 80-90% of the time I'm shooting. The downside for you is that it doesn't have manual aperture. I hardly ever adjust aperture in my work so this has been a non-issue, but I will say that it does "stutter" as I adjust aperture which effectively ruins the shot while I'm adjusting. A cheaper alternative is buying vintage photo lenses and "de-clicking" it. I did this with a SMC Takumar 50mm lens and though I rarely ever use it, I love it so much and it is one of my favorite lenses. Hope that helps and hope you find a good solution. Sorry I can't be of more help. Thank you for being such a faithful viewer and sharing your insights. It really means a lot.
Great review! I have always wanted one but now I think I need one. Thanks G-Dog. Saw the band-aid...Hope you hand gets better!
Ha ha! Glad it helped. It's definitely come in clutch.
Aww, thank you. Mere flesh wound. Sliced it open on an exposed carpet tack.

Exactly. It's always great when you as the reader/viewer read/hear about cons that aren't actually cons for you!
I needed this video. Thanks 🙏🏾
