I hate that In the end, it just hits me that they wasted so so so many years living the way other people wanted them to instead of living the way they wanted to. All those years that could have been spent with each other was instead spent being lonely and in pain. And in the end they talk to each other, admitting to what they couldn't admit all those years ago. And because he didn't admit it back then, it came at a cost. Losing each other for all those years.
That's why the end had me bursting in tears. When they're walking and they turn to look back and see their younger selves, it kills me because even though they do reunite, all I see is all the years they wasted and the fact that those hopeful boys never got to be happy with each other.
@@pagethreemodel That part made me cry too cause that's exactly what I saw. One day we're all gonna go extinct, there will be an end to humanity so why can't humans live how they want as long as it doesn't harm others, not like we're gonna live forever anyways. Once people go old, they regret so many things they didn't do when they were younger, almost all elderly people have thoughts like that, they don't realize until it's too late.
@@racyk8579 and when you put it look that, it's absolutely heart breaking. And scary. If there's one thing this film taught me, it's not go take anything for granted, and seize the moment. I don't want to look back on my life after thirty years and feel nothing but sadness and regret 🥺. I feel really sorry for anyone who couldn't be with the person they love because of discrimination. It's awful.

I loved that in the end they said 'wa'an' to each other multiple times as if they were trying to make up for all those years they lost that could have been spend with each other.... It was their way of saying 'I love you' but at the same time not really saying it for the fear all those emotions would end up bubbling out.
*In the movie there is a scene were it says that 'wa'an'(sorry if the spelling is wrong) that originally translates to 'Good night' in Chinese has a different hidden meaning too that is 'I love you'.
Ohhh that scene was so beautiful and heart-breaking at the same time.
Loving the person when you know in the first place you shouldn't...but you can't dictate what your hearts desires ..

That movie felt like a dagger made of dry ice slowly driven into my heart. And instead of the agonizing pain it felt warm and cold and good and sad. And all those sensations, all those feelings poored inside me, one by one as the dagger melted inside.
And the worst part is this is based on a true story and the real ending is they never meet again.
The best part for me in this beautiful will always be when A- Han wants to prevent Birdy got beaten by his father
And of course that painful telephone call he did..and told Birdy to listen to a song..😔😔😪

Just...don’t fucking call this masterpiece a “BL” and reduce its worth. It’s a heartbreakingly real love story, and that’s what it should be referred to as. Being labelled BL just puts it in the same category as a lot of other, lesser movies/series and it takes away its value.

I love this movie so much
It was touching,moving and everything required of a good movie,the viewers were able to immense themselves completely and feel what the characters feel
I thought Birdy was going to be the one to fight for their love cause he seemed like the bold strong one, my surprise when it was jia-han instead ,I guess LOVE really go give you strength

This was such a hard movie to watch. That's why I only remember the feel of the movie, not the details. Mostly, I just remember the anger and frustration at the lack of courage of the one who was loved - no matter how understandable - and the anguish it wreaked on the one who loved.
People only write about what the two guys lost because society wouldn't allow them to be their true selves. But the woman also lost years and a chance at true love and happiness, living instead a life where she was never really loved in return.
And this situation continues to be a reality for millions around the world. Another human-made, human-imposed misery.
I watch this movie almost everyday.. I can't get enough of jia han nd birdy. The story the feels they give is something I can't describe. I just love this movie so much.😍

this is one of my fav films and one of the few films (and i'm a complete film guru who watches a million istg) that has made me feel horrible, aching and painful emotions when it finished i think about this film so much it's not funny, sometimes i spend a little while away from it but i always come back and get wrapped up in in the raw emotion and heart wrenching plot the actors portrayed. This movie is a masterpiece if i've ever watched one. I want to show it to everyone but i'm to nervous because of the homosexuality even though I am Bi myself i'm surrounded by homophobia and another thing that pains me is the fact that people won't even take a second glance at trying a film based off there own negative stereotypes of beliefs god it makes me hate the human race. (most things do) lols this was an unnecessary paragraph but i needed to type it out idc such a fucking good film. I DONT GIVE A SHIT IF YOUR HOMPHOBIC IDGAS IF YOUR CHRISTIAN IDGAS IF YOU DONT LIKE ROMANCE FILMS I WANT EVERY HUMAN TO SEE THIS FILM OMG
I feel this way too.. I want to show this movie to everyone because it is a masterpiece but i am a bit scared of how they'll see me or whether they would even consider this movie's depth and emotions at all because unfortunately most people just see two men loving each other and leave saying that it's not my type of movie

It's so painful when Jian was smoking, yelling, crying, shouting..in classroom with father. I felt the pain n urge he had to kill himself at tht moment. Tht was one of the weakest moment when people can end their grief . So many legendary moments n song. I can't stop praising. If any movie can make me cry tht much.. it's worth praising.
I can´t explain how hard this film has hit me, because is a real love story and they couldn´t live it by themselves. This story makes me so so sad i could cry all days. I just want to hug them and tell them that everything it´s okey and they can love each other no matter what.

I also had a "birdy" like that in high school, the feelings that at that time I didn't even know it was love, we lived it to the fullest without regret, there was no internet, nothing, for us at that time, only studying, discipline and university were priorities, every time we met, just talking about schoolwork, going out and going out, just the two of us, never had a third person, he was 185cm tall, I was only 170cm tall, he waited for me every day or rode his bike to take me, I taught him math, he took me to school. In class we always kept our distance, when we got home we were engrossed in talking about everything, teachers, school, eating, sleeping, going out and absolutely nothing about lust or sex, just sleeping. He was very tall and good-looking, so many girls liked him, I remember once I avoided him for a whole week because of something stupid hahaha. On the last day when my class picked up the souvenirs of the whole class, I only wrote "Wishing you all to pass the university entrance exam and be successful", while he wrote " Đạt ❤️T". We were still keep that, the day he invited me to drink with chicken feet,my favorite food, I didn't know that I was only 18 years old at that time and not wine for that age but he got that kkkk, and that he disappeared no contact, he moved. After that, I moved to another city to study at university, and only then did I know that he followed his family abroad. I haven't seen him again, I hope he lives well, now we are almost 30, I still keep the photo of the two of us taken together in Korean style, which was a hot trend at that time kkkkk. It is pure and just two of is big smile with nothing care.

The angst in this movie was so palatable. I have literally never seen it done this well since. How do they repeatedly draw on that level of emotion only for the director to yell cut at the end? I would be emotionally raw. Like I think I would lowkey harbor resentment towards my cast-mate even after the scene was over. It's not something I could turn off or redo 100 times. I'd be mad the rest of that day lol. And probably the next.
Just finish reading the book..and this story kills me really, Its so sad and beautifull, can't move on.

I wish this had been out when I was growing up. I can only imagine the impact it would have had on me then just by looking at the impact it’s had on me now. The movie is a masterpiece and I can’t even explain how much this will have an impact on other LGBT+ community members of all ages who come to watch it as well as even those out side the community who open their heart to it.
