Cold Steel OSS vs OSI vs Marauder

I have dispatched over 100 wild pigs with the marauder. it make a huge wound channel and it takes only a second or 2 for the pig to bleed out.

Loved my OSS while I had it. One of the best Ive owned, based on the back cut capability.
My Daughter has it now for her personal protection, and she cant say enough good things about the OSS.

OSS is made mainly for super easy penetration. Only 1 knife from CS which, to my testings, is regarding to penetration a little bit better. The TAI PAN. Unfortunately the blade of this knife is shorter.

Awesome video! I got the OSS because it provides 15 inches of cutting edge. With that, it's a looooooong time before you run out of cutting ability. It's also ultra light, so it doesn't add any weight when attached to the outside of a backpack (illegal to have inside where I am). And your stabbing demonstration proves that it won't fail if used on an attacking animal (two or four legged). 😉 SUBSCRIBED!

@@Hissatsu5 Thanks for the heads-up! I just watched it, and it's pretty cool! But in all fairness, it seems the buffalo was shot before it attacked. So I'm wondering if the bullet finally took effect at the time the buffalo was stabbed. In any case, it's a great knife, certainly capable of amazing things!

The serrations on the Marauder give it slashing power instead of just chopping into the tube they should have pulled through the slash.

Used to be the osi was hollow ground. Now they are flat. Too many warranties claim or jus trying to reduce cost of goods?
Dunno, but when i found out i bought one as i was thinking about making it into a pikal knife.
The Marauder, at least some versions of it, are now shipping w flat grinds, so i bought one, as i believe now it would take a proper swedge without compromising tip strength. Id like to get a serrated one, just because, if i can find one w flat grinds.

…anyway, the osi is a real gift to the public, in a clipped full double edge, really well executed, at really good price. But it and the oss are so light, there is little in the way of percussive cutting power. The MARAUDER, on the other hand, is meaningfully more massive and cuts powerfully for something that you can forget is in your belt all day, and that point, at least on the flat geoubd versions is acute and strong

That's what I said as well. I have a fairly big collection, probably 3/4 Cold Steel. So many cool blades but if I was forced to pick one to fight for my life with it would be the serrated marauder. It's not the best steel but it's light and cuts like nothing else.

OSI is best all around because it is flat ground! Hollow grinding makes the blade geometry very thin.

Oss has better penetration due to the thin tip but for surviving situation it's not as good as Marauder

You can buy a shoulder rig for it and I sometimes carry a Bowie in my pants under my shirt so yes you can conceal carry them

You're not going to chop a tank in two with either, and for combatting 25th grizzly's, both should do the trick.
Unless the grizzly is the size of a house. Then you need other options.
Evade is best.
