    Just wanted to say thanks so much for the videos, Danya. I'd been hovering between 1700-1800 for a long time and watching these has really helped me improve my chess principles and calculation. It's taken me to 2000+ on lichess for the first time, and I've even managed to beat a couple of 2050+ rated opponents! I like how you keep it focused on the teaching (apart from the occasional historical tidbits, which are also great). Lots of love and admiration from India.

    • @nb1234-c1p
      @nb1234-c1p 3 года назад +3

      @@Andreyous As far as I remember in this closed stucture with e5 you first try to clear things up with Bh6 and h4-h5 and then it depends on the way black defends, so knight to e2 and g3 (perhaps f5) or via h3 to g5. The bishop surely looks a little stupid most of the time, but at last he can go to d3 and perhaps there are chances that you can play f4 and e5 or his job is simply to stabilize the center and connect the rooks, so you can triple on the h-file. So in this closed structure it isn't really a priority to develop the kingside.

    • @redr0sid210
      @redr0sid210 3 года назад +2

      I really don’t understand how he’s good at everything? Even after being down a piece he still played terrible, senseless move. For example his bishop just sat there doing absolutely nothing. Taking the g pawn was terrible aswell. All the guy did was make one move threats lol. He played poorly from start to finish.

    • @chrisbeaudoin9818
      @chrisbeaudoin9818 3 года назад +4

      @@redr0sid210 he played surprisingly well for being down an entire piece (Danya said so as well). Towards the end you can't really blame him. Taking the g pawn doesnt particularly matter when you're gonna get mated in a few moves regardless.
      The only real bad mistake he made was not seeing the threats that lost him a bishop.
      If this game was against anybody else other than a GM some of that counter play probably would have worked.

    I found that e5 90% wins you the game on the spot on 2000 lvl.
    It's actually funny.
    People want to be smart and set a "trap" by giving white an extra possibility that's bad but they just check a few moves, see that it's supposedly bad and stop.
    Then they end up shocked when they get mated by move 20 because it turns out that Black really needs to know what they are doing.
    I am at 2000 level and I have won every single game with e5 quickly. Definitely worth to look into if you are under 2100-2200.
