- On today's show, we're talking all things SEC recruiting with our Locked On Recruiting Insider Brian Smith, as we discuss the recent trends in recruiting, including players getting paid NIL dollars just for a VISIT, as opposed to an actual commitment.
We also touch on some of the schools filling up their classes like Alabama as they have 17 commitments already after adding 4-star OL Jackson Lloyd and 4-star CB Chuck McDonald, while Georgia added to their class with 5-star LB Zayden Walker and 4-star WR Taylyn Taylor.

The overall truth is this. The NIL and portal have been the best for all other programs that aren't Alabama and UGA. There is a huge difference in what they were recruiting before NIL and what they are now. They used to get the best of the blue chips, now the media is having to do fake cartwheels for Bama and UGA just getting a blue chips and maintaining high recruiting classes. The NIL and portal is now a grind and most older coaches can't handle the extra load. Now, starting this year those schools like most others have harder schedules. No longer can UGA and Bama avoid each other for six years for a regular season game. Parity all around.

Analogy: Would you take 3 interviews for a job which you didn't know what they would pay you? No you wouldn't. Lay it all out on the table and I'll let you if I feel it's worth my time to interview.

@@LockedOnSEC well, I know that I don’t consider a potential job is a real job until I know what their pay range is. And I don’t pay for my own travel expense when I go out there to interview. If I were to equate that scenario to today’s college athlete, then the answer to your question is, yes.
