This is the 5th tile project we've done where we've removed the old tile before installing new tile, and the first one with this tool ruclips.net/user/postUgkxqqoaX03nrziKwF7Bjjcc71YzLEleMvOS . I want to cry for all the unnecessary work we've done in the past. With this tool, we removed tile surrounding a fireplace, as well as the hearth tile, set in loads of cement, in less than an hour. I highly recommend this tool. It was easy to use, and very satisfying watching the tile literally fall off the wall.
I've had this drill for a few months now in the UK. Light and compact with good anti vib. Good drill

I got one of these. Very nice. I even used it to drill a 125mm core. Did the job eventually, although I wouldn’t recommend it for core drilling. Handy in a pinch though. Nice video lads. Great drill for standard drilling.

I've never the 133. I think they're basically equals of each other. For home use, just but whatevers cheaper I reckon?

Great unit. Bigger bits/deeper holes eat the battery fairly quick in my experience (800x26mm),but that's not surprising. Got it from the big green shed a few months ago for around $300 skin only.
+Myk Somerville thanks for the info Myk. You're right re: large holes. a 16mm hole might only be 60% larger in diameter than a 10mm bit, but it is 250% bigger in area. That means 2.5 x more concrete to remove. A 24mm bit is almost 6 x the area of a 10mm bit.

+Yer Man Hi Yer Man. No we haven't really noticed, it is probably to do with the very average lighting in the workshop. To be honest, neither of us are good at video/camera work, and we barely find time to do the reviews themselves, so I'm not sure the quality is going to increase any time soon ;)

Good reviews. I'm looking to purchase either the dch273 or dch333. Not sure which to get. How does this compare to the dch333.
If you had time could you do a video comparing the two please.
Needed to preform basic drilling in concrete and brick for raw plugs, for window and door fixing and for removing kitchen and bathroom tiles and also to remove exterior render on an a house.
I'm guessing the dch273 would be fine for all the above, but the dch333 would be much better suited at removing exterior render on the house over the dch273?
Please give me your opinion. I'm so undecided on which to get.

the DCH333 is a fair bit more powerful. But you won't need the extra power for holes 6-10mm large. For chipping, the DCH333 will be much better (but you need Flexvotl batteries don't forget)

I ended up buying the the dch273, been great so far 👍 when I come to removing the render on the house I will buy the dch333 👍

Would this drill through granite? I need sds to drill through proper old granite block walls. My friends corded Sds weighs 6.5kg so it is really cumbersome and the power cord is a PIA running extension leads but it goes through like hot knife through butter.
it all depends on what size holes you are needing to make. For extended use, I like this tool for 12mm and down in concrete. I imagine that granite is probably quite a bit harder than concrete.
@@OZToolTalk granite is extremely hard and the fixings that we need to drill are 8mm to around 16mm, they are for either metal plates or heavy wooden posts get drilled to the wall first and then the wooden walls / rails for the horse stables are fixed to the post. They have to withstand near on half tonne of horse leaning up against them. We are trying to find another way of doing it but the floor is even harder than the walls 😂
I'd look at the larger SDS+ for that task

I have this drill and yesterday it cut out with what I thought was needing battery charged but when I charged the battery and tried to go again it was making a constant beep and light coming on. Any idea what this might be?

So many! The area of a 6mm hole is 1/7th of the 16mm holes. And we were going to about 100mm depth. [Dwain]

Fuel gauges on battery’s should be on the side imo, guarantees they’ll never be covered
[Dwain] I think Milwaukee do an excellent job. They put their indicators on the front, and I've never seen them covered when connected to a tool.
Hey guys liking the vids. Wondering what the difference is between the DCH273 and DCH274? They both seem to be new brushless units, but I cant find the 273 on Australian DeWalt site. Maybe its SDS vs SDSplus. Whats the difference between that?

+funkafize I think the only difference is that the DCH274 comes with a removal SDS chuck and an adapter chuck for normal round bits.
SDS Plus is the regular type. SDS Max is for larger, heavier units. I think the original SDS bit type is no longer used.
And what the difference between DCH273N and DCH273NT ?

I have this hammer... it's Great! Very compact and powerfull. it not flexvolt but I liked this tool. Runtime, light and perform protect is super. With vacumm is Great. Clean job. Salutation from Poland!

Anyone here who knows how to use the depth stop with this particular hammer drill? I mean, i have one but I don't know how to use that.
Loosen handle pull depth stop to where you'd like it to stop tighten handle that's it
I have the same Maschine... But in concrete sometimes this machine stopped!!!!!! That's not great, because i can't take it out!! Please help
[Dwain] Do you mean that it's cutout due to the bit binding up in the hole? I use this drill everyday, and haven't had that happen, though I've had it before on others.

It usually happens to me when going through hollow bricks and the hole isn't straight. What size are you drilling?
@@OZToolTalk i just normally drilling with 12 mm or 10 mm... Only in concrete he stopped... The hilti Maschine in my work never stopped in 4 years.... Im from Germany, sry for my bad English

i reckon you should go head to head with the festool brushless compact sds hammer drill, i think you'll be shocked like i was it hands down smashes the milwaukee and the makita and sooooo much smoother as well so just food for thought.
p.s. its only rated for 18mm but Ive used a 24mm in the festool and works like a treat boys
+Anthony Schmocker Hi Anthony, we love tool comparisons, but never seen or heard from Festool as yet, not that they are in the same price bracket at all. Quality aside, I highly doubt it would beat the latest ~1" rated SDS drills from Dewalt or Milwaukee if it is rated to 18mm. What is its BPM and Joules per beat specs?
+Oz Tool Talk 4,895 rpm, it's not ment for it but I had 2 holes to go to finish and my milwaukee was dead and it powered threw, the price point is a lot but still it's an amazing machine and light as anything too
I'm sure it is, Festool make nice gear. That would be 4,895 BPM (not rpm), but without the Joules per hit/beat, it's a bit meaningless.
Which Milwaukee are you referring to? They have five (5!!) M18 rotary hammer models...
Everything with a battery I use dewalt xr if it has a lead it's mostly Festool.festool are great but when it comes to drills to me the price difference makes less sense.
+zap brannigan that's exactly what I thought too but I was shocked at the power they have, don't get me wrong I love my milwaukee but my festool gear is just scaring me how good it is. Another example what I was drilling threw 600mm worth of stud for bracing rods and my c18 just powered threw it and we actually broke a makita brushless drill on the first hole so yeah but I agree with you non the less

20V Max is American terminology. In Australia (and most of the rest of the world) they are designated 18V. But yes, same thing.

Ryan Guyer Correct. That’s because it’s an 18V unit OR 20V if you are in America. Same tool, same battery just different laws regarding how it can be advertised in countries.
Looks like you are pushing to hard, let the machine do the job. If you push to hard it doesn't have the space to punch properly

you are pushing to hard... you never push rottary hammers... you are actually not drilling fast this way.
[Dwain] a certain amount of pressure actually DOES help rotary hammers go faster, but there is no doubt diminishing returns pretty quickly.
