Don't let that distract you from the fact that In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Team.

You think that pirates didn't have a ton of rules?
I can't comment on 1% clubs as I know nothing about them, but just because a person or group exists outside of the generally accepted rules of the time and place, doesn't mean that they're anarchists with no rules. Having no rules at all causes all sorts of problems.
Having a different set of rules also causes problems, but at least if there's a set of rules and other people that are adhering to them, you've got some semblance of order. Just an order that's less orderly.

cueballB thats true of any counter culture or sub culture, for the most part. Im not a biker either, but what i do know of 1%er clubs from an outsiders point of view tells me that the rules are generally just as much about keeping drama and the eyes of the law and major beef with other clubs to an absolute minimum, as they are about codes of conduct and having a unified and structured set of ideals and principles that separate each individual club from one another. Although its also my understanding that many club charters have similar rules and by laws that i assume are derived from older traditions and customs of early biker culture. Sorta like how our constitution and USC's (to a much lesser extent) today can be traced back to the magna carta or Hammurabis code. I wager most however, are not nearly as restrictive and full of unnecessary red tape as mainstream societies, but with the trade off of consequences that no court or police officer can employ on or protect one from.

      @slayer8actual 2 года назад +3

Yeah, whatever. I've met your type before - "Ain't nobody gonna tell me what do to!". You just don't understand what a Brotherhood is all about. I am prior military and fought in Iraq and Afghanistan as Infantry in the US Army. The Brotherhood there was one man willing to lay down his life for any man he called Brother. We lived together. We fought together. We didn't have to tell each what to do. It was part of the life to want to do things for each other, because you knew that man would give his life for you. And you would do the same for him. But all of that takes time. It's the same in the biker world. It takes time to get to the point where you would do anything thing for that man you call Brother, because you know he would do the same for you. And once you get there, you know you earned it. You worked for it. Being called Brother is something you earned by proving yourself.
Of course, then there are people like you who aren't man enough to earn shit, and aren't willing to work for something many people can't do. Not wanting to be told what to do is the same excuse I heard in the military and in this world from people too weak to cut it. It's an excuse to hide weakness.

@@slayer8actual maybe he just doesn’t need ten brothers to back him up when he’s in trouble. Doesn’t mean he’s not man enough to earn shit. In my country real men don’t run in packs. In Australia bikie gangs are all about crime and profit, not this brotherhood b.s. They are your brother until they’re not.

You get as good as you give in life and that's pretty much how it works. I personally don't belong to a 1% organization. I belong to the American Legion and Legion Riders and that takes all of my time. It's on the up and up and it keeps me honest and fulfilled as a person. I like to dedicate myself to my veteran brothers and helping them out. I do cross paths with various clubs and we keep on good terms with most everyone. If you do those things, you might find that the local 1% club isn't a good fit, but one of the other clubs that's only a bit less strict may be a good match.
But, really, people that whine about the work needed to get into a club usually don't belong. The process exists in large part because these are the closest thing some of these folks will ever get to family.

    Hello!
You have this series, Bikers for Dummies. Hmmmm.... I been a biker a long time.
My real thoughts on 1%ers? Treat em like I do the police. Have as little to do with them as possible.
But if you ride, no matter what style of bike, the more you ride, the more your chances of running into them are increased.
My advice is if you don't have to do anything with them at that point, then don't. I don't even do the cruiser wave. They're not going to wave back and I don't want surrounding eyes to think I have some sort of association with them or worse. That I'm some sort of a wannabe.
Besides, Where I live, what you have to worry about is that 13 year old, whacked out on Not-pot, covered in sports team tattoos, waving an AK-47 around. Why invite more complications?
We need a video series called Dummies for Bikes.
We could have videos on issues that really affect us. like How old do I need to be before I can own a trike? Or Bike reviews like Why did they put all this electronic crap all over the handlebars? And as a "real" biker I have genuine concerns.... Like Indian motorcycles. Sure they look cool and all. A little too gawdy maybe, but the motor is impressive. But look what Polaris did with Victory. They thought they could use that brand to bite into Harley's market when all they were was just another Harley clone.
Instead of diversifying it's brand, they closed Victory down. Will Polaris do that with Indian too once they realize they can't grab the Harley market with it either? Especially seeing as motorcycle ownership in general is on a downside along with the population count of younger bikers interested in that style of ride? It's going to be hard enough for Harley Davidson to float through this down turn. Much more for a start-up that's that limited in production models. So as a consumer, I have serious reservations concerning those motorcycles. oops. sorry for the rant on Indians. Yeah. Dummies for Bikes.
Me? I ride a 97 Valkyrie. It out chromes a mortgage glide and outruns a crotch rocket. And quite honestly, It has been the most reliable and steady mode of transportation I have ever owned. And that includes Car, truck, skateboard or kayak.

    • @DerangedResponse
      @DerangedResponse 7 лет назад +2

Well thank you for making the videos!. Yeah. I sort of am a little serious about buying a trike though. I still have a few years of having fun with twisties and playing dodgeball with the texters on my way to work for all that now though. I'm thinking post retirement age and hopefully I can still find a VW trike that won't be in a museum.
YOu know, actually I saw this video on the page and I thought, who would want to know that and to do so through a video? But then I remembered something.. True Story:
About 8 or 9 years ago the wife and I went on one of those toy runs ran by the Bandidos. Everyone that went got a nifty pin and you could get all the SYLB stickers you wanted. I got the little pin of the marine and the Christmas toys. I don't like stickers on my motorcycles and I definitely didn't want anything to do with them on it. Well my wife showed it to one of her internet friends and told her I got it from The Bandidos run. These people totally mis-understood the whole thing. They wanted to know what I did for the Bandidos to get the pin. As in run dope for them or some other crime. and the pin was a trophy. I don't know a thing about 1%ers. All they did was sponsor a toy run and I participated in it. just like five zillion other assorted riders did. But them only seeing motorcycles from a distance... I dunno a lot of people have weird notions like that. Must be the freon from being in the cage all the time. LOL I just got the pin as a souvenir from donating money for toys for tots and finding out that yes, there actually are worse riders than me out there. Lots of them!

To much politics for me in the clubs. Seemed like all they ever did was ride to area meetings hosted by the Banditos, or ride to the club to have a meeting, or ride to a bar where a party was hosted by a club. I got a motorcycle to ride. To RIDE. I don't want a destination. I don't want a schedule. I don't want to be in a line, in my spot, doing someone elses speed. You might as well just rent a damn bus at that point. I ride for the freedom of riding, so why would I want to be in a MC with all the rules for everything I do? A guy buys his first Harley and next thing you know he gets curious about joining an MC. After a season or two of Son's of Anarchy and a pinch of the Laughing Devil's reality show and their balls swell up. If you need a tutorial on how to become a brother in a 1% MC you should stop at that and don't even think about joining a club again. Depending on the MC or chapter, etc. you will be greeted with anything from laughter to near death experience. 1% MC's are serious business. No, they aren't what you see on the Discovery channel. I would venture to say that alot of dudes are born and raised to be able to fit in. A bike doesn't make you a biker as much as a horse makes you a cowboy. If you are a person who stands out and can represent a club, follow the rules and would take a bullet for your brother than most times you will get introduced and invited. I was in a support MC for our territory's 1% MC. When the boss says ride, you ride. Nuff said. The media try to convince the masses that all bikers of all MC's are murderers, drug dealers, rapists and thieves. The push an incident involving one or two members and demonized the entire club. Why is it when a cop fucks that they do their best to maintain the integrity of the entire police department? 1% don't stand for that. It's fair it's good and it's about brotherhood and respect. I'm no longer with any club. I was offered to prospect a number of times for our 1% MC we supported. I told them that I couldn't do it and that I just didn't pack the gear to patch over. I've heard stories where people joined because they had no choice. In my case I was respected for being honest and for not having the fear to admit it. You only get what you give. Good luck out there newbies.

itchymoche I have seen so many guys and even women go in blind. I've even seen guys who were asked to prospect say no and then come around and request to start their own MC after the fact. The outcome wasn't pretty. Thank you for your reply. Come to think about it, guys that decide to leave buy themselves out. Pay the fee and get their bike back. Sounds easy, but your always going to be a part of the MC. I still wear a support patch as a civilian.

Itchymoche - I think it could be a lot of fun. What I had an issue with in watching one membership like video. The Mantra was to back your brother not matter right or wrong. I figured the affiliation was for mind slaves, as otherwise we are gifted with an understanding of what can be right and what can be wrong. If joining a club can add to who you are, then I see it could be even a good thing. But if it expect you to discard what moral compass you have, or what self respect you have left in life, in order to wear their colors, then how could it be a good thing for you.
But as far as riding in groups, well, if staggered, I would be glad to be last ion line -

DONT join an outlaw club! Couple of friends joined over the years. They welcome you with open arms, treat you and protect you like family but if you decide enough is enough and you want to leave the club even if you had a good reason to then thats when things will turn to shit. Whether you behaved yourself, showed a TONNE of respect thats when you realize that all this time you were just a walking asset. Threats and extortion etc, it all comes out of the bag. I have met some people who were hang arounds , they were also deep with in the bible , but very tough and a bit crazy , I kept my distance far as socializing with club members , but to see the pack ride was equal to an air show it's was loud and awesome the riding part is the best , far as brother hood I think it has to do with the cops playing their games to turn brother on brother it does not have to be that way , but now days you can't beat the cops and the strict laws ;)

I would re-title this not to be for an "outlaw" motorcycle club, but for any serious M/C. The outline you provide is a great example of just how serious being a member of a real M/C should be. Becoming a brother should be a long and arduous process, as should leaving. You can't "choose" family and when you join an M/C you're becoming family -- that includes all the benefits, the detriments as well as that strange uncle who drinks a bit too much. ;-)

I would consider joining a club because I already know them. I already have a commitment and friendship with them. Why would you want to join a club where you don't know them? Clubs are supposed to be about the interpersonal bond first, not to wear a cool patch.
There's one club I know of that I would consider pursuing because of the legacy of the club. I tried to meet some of the guys. It just never "took" and I'm not chasing after someone like a jilted girlfriend. If it's not organic, I'm not forcing it. I really believe it's about relationship first. It seems some people look at clubs as soon as they get their bike.. like it's another accessory. _"I have a bike so the next thing I need to do to be a "real" biker is join a club. I wanna be one of those 1%ers!"_ Or because TV made it look cool to be someone they're not.
And, at the end of the day, I'm too rebellious and anti-social to join a motorcycle club. I question rules too easily. All of them. Now.. I'm not slighting anyone who wants the club life. More power to them. And I've had great interactions with club members. I have great respect for them. Not because they intimidate me but because they've been decent people and treated me very well. I'm just saying it's important to be honest with yourself about your reasons and who you are. (Most clubs seem to hold honesty in high regard.)
While I envy a lot of aspects of it, it's not for me.

The bit about leaving the club is a euphemism.
      1% MCs are organized crime.
      The rest is folklore.
HA Bandidos, Outlaws, Mongols, Pagans, Vagos...it's not about riding motorcycles.
It's mafia on wheels. You don't quit the mob easily.

The Probationary rocker you show with a centre patch and 1% diamond @ 4:49 - well, that patch set is for a new Charter/Chapter of a very well known 1% MC and it's worn by the new Charter/Chapter whilst they are going through their Probationary period before they fly the bottom rocker of County, State, Country or Nomad, and if memory serves me right - that particular clubs Prospects have a top Prospect rocker and not a bottom one. I had no idea the rules were so strict and very orderly, that's some good info and i learned a ton. I can see why SOA pisses real bikers off. They would probably not like me much i want a Harley so bad but i have a 17 R6 lol.

There’s only 1 Outlaw club.. Outlaws MC started in McCook Illinois in 1935.
OMG is a term LE started using and misrepresents all 1% clubs
The title of this blog should be can I join a 1% club.

No thanks! I’ve been fascinated with the 81 since I was a kid I’ve always been a rebel but I know I’m not club material I can’t commit to much plus I don’t take orders very well so there you have it! Being a outlaw/ rebel comes in many shapes and forms choose your own path.

I would imagine it is a fine line between being an outlaw and somebody who is able to take orders. But it does work, so at some level they have to submit to another man's discipline even though they are "tough guys".

"Biker culture"? That's a contradiction in terms isn't it? :)
I rode bikes local and x-country for about 40 years. One of the reasons I enjoyed it was that I was free to go where I wanted when I wanted, look the way I wanted, and, within certain limits, act the way I wanted. The idea of being in a club (outlaw or otherwise) and riding in a pack with a bunch of rules never did it for me -- if that's what I was looking for, I would have just thrown my shit in a minivan and headed off to SeaWorld.
I mean no offense to anyone -- I met an awful lot of bikers over the years, both club guys and solo, and almost all of them were cool, so I guess it's just a case of different strokes ...

just to make clear. like most 1% outlaw clubs we welcome new prospects, just write a nice short letter or even a greetings card telling us a little about yourself, likes. dislikes favourite colours etc, you get the picture, don't worry about being able to ride as we'll teach you. c'mon. don't be shy come up and say hello, what's the worst that can happen.
